We got out to Talon On a late morning Tee time. Plenty of play going on even with a heat advisory. Didn’t seem that hot today but definitely some humidity.
Course conditions were great overall. Nothing to complain about. Rough was thick and definitely affected the club.
The greens were great. Really nothing to complain about at Grayhawk. If you get the opportunity, Grayhawk is a good choice with nice conditions.

Played Mon. 06/29. Course is in very good condition. Tee boxes are excellent. Very little divot damage. Fairways are in good condition with some areas starting to dry out. Very little rough to speak of. There is no divot mix in the carts. Sand traps have good amount of sand in them, but they are starting to get a little crusty. No rakes in any of them. Greens are in their “summer transition “ Very hard with no divot damage and they putted smooth. Saw the cart girl several times. Customer service is excellent. The carts have ice coolers on them and they give you a couple bottles of water. There are water stations on the course also. My only negative is the tee markers. They all look the same color to me.

I played Grayhawk Talon on 7/13 with a 921 tee time. A coworker of mine has their discount card so greens fee was $44. The course was busy but with 9 minute intervals with tee times it never feels crowded. Customer service from the bag drop to the beverage cart were all on point. Grayhawk is not my typical course to play but for that rate you can't go wrong. You can sure tell the difference in regards to customer service at a course like Grayhawk.
Range balls are included with the rate and the range was in good shape with plenty of room.
The course was in the best shape of any course I have played this summer. Fairways were nice with a few bare spots here and there. Tee boxes all in good shape. The sand traps had nice sand and plenty of it in them. The greens were all consistent through the round. They accepted full shots with minimal roll out. They were on the faster side but kept your line on well struck putts.
We played the second set of tees and it provided plenty of challenge. I'm not sure I would want to tackle this course from the tips with some long par 4s. I do like the variety of holes and being rewarded with well placed tee shots.
Overall, if you can find a decent rate here it's worth a play with current conditions.

Played the Talon Tuesday night at 4:00 - Finished in under 3 hours. Snagged a $45 last minute online tee time. After learning from Raptor that Grayhawk is over priced and over hyped (more for the social scene) I went into playing Talon with limited expectations after having one of the bigger let downs playing Raptor. The staff here is some of the best. Top notch in all regards. I was really impressed with the conditions. The grass is in great shape here. It was a tad more dried out but great coverage for summer. There are burned out and brown areas in the middle of some fairways and surrounding the green complexes. But those were the exception. Some of the tee boxes were a little dried out and brown around the edges. But excellent fairways and around the greens. The greens were great. More dried out and firmer but very much high quality greens 8/10. The sand here is awesome, the high quality crushed granite. Some bunkers could use more sand but you can always say that. Really fun layout. Front 9 is standard high quality desert golf but nothing memorable. Back nine comes to life. Awesome layout around a ravine. Great variety of holes, fun risk reward options, great site lines, elevated greens, flowing bunkers, and rounded knobs around the greens. 17 and 18 didn't quite fit the course. But still fun holes. The holes are a blast to play and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend playing for the right price.

Played 06/26. Course is in very good shape. Tee boxes are in great shape. Fairways are lush with very little dry areas. Rough is very short. Greens are very good to excellent. Some of them have started to transition to the summer grass.
Customer service is excellent.
My only drawback is that I played the Palo/Terra combo and I could not figure out what tee box to play because I am color blind and could not distinguish the difference in colors on the scorecard.

I had the opportunity to play Grayhawk Talon for a $35 rate due to a coworker having the White Tee card. Heck of a deal given the quality of course.
We teed off around 1006 with both courses fairly busy on a Saturday morning. Raptor seemed to have more playing going on than Talon. Only one range was open and it was packed before the round.
Talon is a bit tighter off the tee than Raptor. Still fun, playable and challenging. Talon has some fun holes including the last three holes to finish. Conditions were good but the course had a number of areas marked as GUR. I also noticed a large number of turf replacement throughout the course. A few bunkers were also marked as GUR with free drops. Tee boxes were good with a couple uneven lies and bare spots. Fairways had a number of bare spots but the "summer preferred lie" was invoked by the club. I didn't really have to take advantage of that today but my playing partners did. Bunkers were ok and a bit dried out. Greens were in very good shape and consistent through the round. They were a joy to putt on because of the speed and consistency through the day.
Beverage cart was around quite often and they do have a number of water stations throughout the course.
Grayhawk is the type of course I don't play very often but it's definitely worth it go give Talon a try with current conditions.

Overall, excellent conditions and great service, inside and out.

First time here, so moved up a tee box to help with navigation. No GPS, but a good two side color layout card available with starter.

From my experience with Scottsdale / Phx golf, fairly typical layout. Very few holes are adjacent to others and waste areas are more in play than difficult rough conditions.

Fairways were excellent, beautiful emerald green coverage throughout. A good amount of mounding, which can create a few uneven lies, but mostly on the edges of fairways.

Greens were just a touch on firm side, but rolled beautifully. Very few unrepaired ball marks, although I did start early in the day (730am). Pin placements on this day (my only negative) were very difficult. 15 of 18 were on the very edge or corners of the green which made for very difficult shot making. Any slight miss was exacerbated.

Bunkers were very good, full of medium light brown sand. No issues with playability. Some are very deep so avoiding the is key.

While several holes looked similar, there are a couple very fun and interesting. I found back nine much more interesting than front. 13 (drivable par 4) and 17 (island green) a were memorable. Position from the tee important on both sides.

Phil's Grill (as in Mickelson) was a great place to enjoy the 19th hole routine. Spacious clubhouse, lockers, and practice area.

On-line tee times allow for 'last minute' discounts and will provide a significant savings if you can wait until just 2-3 days before booking.

Highly recommend.

The greens are very hard and they put a top dressing (sand) on them today. They didn;t look good but they putted ok. Customer Service is excellent. Had a great email deal for $34.00

I wish they had better yardage markers out in the fairway and different colors for the tee boxes. Being color blind they all look the same
