Finally got to dust off the new set of irons I got for X-Mas, and what a great place to do it. This course challenges you in every aspect, and when the rough is up like today, you had better be on. Th... Continue »

This is a tip for hole 2 but needs to be here at 1. When you are about halfway down the fairway on the first hole, take a few seconds to look due left so you can see the second green and it's approach. Then look right to where the second tee box is for context. Second tee box is blind so this is your chance for a preview.

This par 5 goes straight out and then doglegs hard right, down a hill to a lower level fairway and water hazard. Trees on the right side of the fairway block the view of the downslope, lower fairway and water. If you played it before, you can weigh whether you want to launch a blind drive towards the downslope and try to reach the lower fairway, but for mortals, hit your tee shot straight out onto the middle of the flat area in front of you. This give you a nice flat area to make a good second shot down the hill. From the top of the hill with the green straight out in front of you, you can see the water guarding the right two thirds of your approach with the fairway wrapping around it on the left third. It's all right there, so make your own decisions on how you want to attack it. The green has a lot of left to right slope, so favor the right side to insure an uphill putt.
