Played 5-2-26 in the morning walking with a riding threesome and finishing in about2 4 hours and 45 minutes with very little waiting and nobody pushing us. Tee boxes had good coverage on most holes with a few thin spots on a couple and a few needing a little leveling. Fairways were green and lush with a few minor yellow spots on some with great lies and good padding. Rough along fairways and around greens is very lush and green about2 2 inches and thick, outside the primary rough is mostly unkept with hard pan under the trees and varying lengths of grass and weed. Was in two greenside bunkers that were very nicely groomed with a good thick layer of heavy white sand. Greens were in great shape, always the highlight of the course rolling medium/fast and smooth, and playing semi-soft. Overall really good conditions. Highly recommend.

Played with my sons on 4/9/26. Course conditions and weather were good, with some divots and unevenness on the tee boxes. Fairways were in good condition and the greens were rolling pretty true. We played the front nine in 2 hours. As we made the turn a foursome jumped in front of us and turned the back nine in to a parking lot. They had no etiquette and since there is no marshal it made play very frustrating. For the fees charged and the claim that the course is world class, this is the second straight time this has happened to us. I love the truck nd make the 2 hour drive to play, but will think twice before doing it again. The pace of play and players hopscotching around should be regulated.

Played 1-29-26 on a cold early morning walking as a single in a little over 2 1/2 hours. Tee boxes were not in the best of shape with some bare and thin spots, some divot damage on par threes and a few of the other holes and some needing a bit of leveling. Fairways were nice. They had decent roll out with nice lies, with some very minor blemishes on a few. Rough was in good shape, about an inch longer than fairways and easy to hit from. Was in a couple of greenside bunkers that were well groomed with a good layer of white sand. Greens as almost always were in great shape. They were rolling smooth and true at medium/fast pace and playing a little on the soft side. Overall course is in good winter condition and well worth playing. Highly recommend.

Back out to Hunter over the weekend for an early morning 3 hour round under perfect weather conditions. Course is still in really good condition. A few small bare spots on the first tee box but the rest had very good coverage. Fairways green and lush, but as the weather warms up they will probably dry out a little which just means more roll out for longer drives. Rough still lush, bunkers in great shape, and greens still smooth and pure. Always great customer service in the pro shop. Restaurant has good food at reasonable prices and great service.

Played 5-18-25 early morning as a foursome in a little under 4 hours with no one in front, or behind us. Tee boxes were in decent shape mostly level with a few of the three pars needing some leveling. Fairways were in good condition with a few brown spots, but mostly good lies and decent roll out. Rough along fairways was in good shape, between1-3 inches, with mostly hard pan under the trees. Was in one greenside bunker that had an ample amount of heavy white sand. Greens were in great condition, rolling smooth and fast, and playing semi-soft. Always a joy to play here, highly recommended.

Played 6-8-24 in the morning as a foursome, and finishing in about 4 1/2 hours with some waiting on the front side. Tee boxes were in just okay condition, mostly level with decent coverage with a few minor bare spots, Fairways were in really good shape, they had good roll out, and the ball sat up nice with good cushioning on iron strikes. Rough was in good shape, 2-3 inches but not to penal. Was not in any bunkers, but they all looked to be in good condition and nicely groomed. Greens are always the highlight of this course and the didn't disappoint, they were rolling very true at medium/fast pace and holding shots with a semi-soft surface. Love the layout of this place with no two holes feeling the same. Highly recommend playing here.

Was out at Hunter Ranch yesterday. I can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve played this favorite course. Hunter Ranch is a super fun and challenging course that offers a good mix of strategic shot making skills and enough grip it and rip it holes to let it fly. The elevation changes make the course fun but yet it’s still definitely walkable for those in decent shape.

The greens rolled super smooth at a nice medium fast pace. Greens are almost always in excellent condition here. Right now the fairways are also in top shape. They are super lush throughout. Sand traps have some of the best high quality sand in the business. They rival any top notch course.

I can’t say enough about what a fun course this is that also has the playing conditions to match. Prices are on the rise but still worth it. If you are traveling between Nor Cal and So Cal, Hunter Ranch is a great place to stop and play to break up the drive. It’s also in the middle of the Central Coast Wine District so it’s the perfect place to go for a weekend getaway. Golf in the morning and wine tasting (or bike riding) in the afternoon. It’s surrounded by some great back roads too for the car enthusiasts. Just remember, clubs in the trunk, wife in the front seat. I always get that one wrong!!

Played 2-14-24 early morning riding as a single and finishing in around 2 1/2 hours. Tee boxes were in okay shape, most had decent coverage, but some of them could use some leveling out. Fairways were in decent shape for the most part, with most of them being soft from the rains but still having nice lies with little roll out. Holes 4 ,6, and 10 were cart path only, and with the coming rain I would think the whole course will probably go cart path only. Was in one greenside bunker that had a good layer of soft white sand that was nice to play from. The greens which are normally the highlight of the course did not disappoint. They were rolling pure at medium/fast pace and playing semi-soft. With all the rain the course is holding up very nicely. When the rains stop and the course has a chance to dry out I expect it to be in just great condition.

Played last week first out walking joined by a riding twosome, finishing in a little under four hours with nobody behind us for a couple of holes. Overall course conditions are very nice. Tee boxes were in good shape, with a few of them having some minor work done on them that does not effect play. Fairways were very nice, green and lush with good roll out and great lies. Rough was in good shape, fairly easy to hit from for the most part but there are some thicker areas here and there. Bunkers were well groomed with nice soft white sand. Greens are the highlight of the course, they were in great shape, playing semi-soft and rolling fast and true. Customer service in pro shop was great. Always a pleasure to play here, which I could get up here more often.
