i didn't think the service at the pro shop was very good. this was the first time i have played there and had to ask which way to the first tee. it is a preety good ride from the proshop. but the course is in excellant shape. there was dark green patches of grass but no dead or bare spots in the fairways. greens were firm but held shots pretty good. no dryed out spots in the greens. the best part is ranch course was $49 and legend course $59. had an excellant day played 10-07-08

First off, it was my first time playing this course. They have no signs whatsoever to get to the clubhouse. So it was somewhat of a frustrating start.

We had our choice of playing the Ranch or Legends. We found out that the Legends had just been aerated and was not in as good of shape as the Ranch. So we chose the Ranch.

The course looks nice. But, the fairways are the narrowest I've ever played on. The 1st cut of Rough is pretty thick and if you are fortunate or unfortuate enough to find the secondary rough well, you're outta luck. There are lots of elevation changes and we had between a 7-10 mph wind all day. The day before it was 25-30 mph wind. The 12th hole is the longest I've ever played at 620 yards from the blues and 655 from the blacks. We played the blues and had a head wind. Not fun.

As for the greens, they were recently aerated 2 weeks ago but have bounced back to decent shape. The bunkers were terrible!! Extremely hard and there are a ton of them.

As for the bad- They had scorecards that they had made copies onto just regular paper. No yardage books and nothing at the Tee boxes to show the layout. It was extremely tough. I am right at a 7 hdcp. But this was still so hard. So many blind shots in which we had to drive our carts up 150 yards just to see what direction we needed to go.

It was fun to be out and playing golf but it just really wasn't an enjoyable round. I don't know if I will be going back (40 min trip). I think I'll stick with Roddy or Shadow Lakes or the Reserve. They also seemed a little snotty at the Clubhouse as well.

Teed off at 4:30pm and finished BOTH courses by 8:45. Never saw another person the entire day. I liked the Legends course better but both courses are very good!! Greens were in great shape.

Played the early afternoon of Jun 28. It's our annual trip to this facility, which remains very, very good...although they simply have to do something about making a legitimate driving range. The course is in very good condition, with the exception of the greens, which I'd give just a B grade. They were splotchy in parts and fairly inconsistent. The rest of the course though is very nice. If you play here though, you should be prepared to come with a very specific strategic mindset, and that is that this is target golf at its finest. You have to really focus here on each shot - if you try to blast away at everything you will be punished to the tune of 2 sleeves at a minimum. The fairways are not narrow - they are SKINNY, THIN...ANOREXIC. It's no joke. So don't get frustrated too badly if you seem to be hitting something less than driver on a lot of holes. The service here is very good too, so just when you're feeling as if you're the only person on the course in 98 degree heat, don't worry. The cart girl will remember you're out there.

The Ranch Course was in decent shape today but not as good as usual. There were some holes and light topdressing due to some heat damage to greens. Lots of water on the fairways but they are getting it back in shape. They’ve got the NorCal Open there at the end of September so expect the Ranch and Legends course to improve until then. Still worth the green fees.

Played 12p on Jul 3. We got on without a tee time with no problem at all, and even better than that, the starter said "tee off anytime you want." Where does that happen? This is a terrific course - one drawback: the maintenance and greens on the Ranch course are not as good as the Legends course. Some of the greens were a little bumpy and dry, and some of the fringe areas were a little sloppy. Nevertheless, we had a great time. This is a great layout. If you play here, you'll have a lot of elevation - from the tee and the fairway. We played the white tees. It wasn't tremendously long, but you really have to think about where you want to play each shot - meaning that you just can't blast away. Many fairways and landing areas are very narrow, and if you're spraying, you're paying - for new balls that is. This is a fun and challenging course with great scenery. Even at $80 at prime time, it was worth the fee.

Great course, worth the drive. The place has never been crowded when I've played it ,which makes it an automatic 36 holes.Play them both in about 7 hours.what 's better than that.
