SloopDanB - Pismo Beach
Played today, and it was HOT. I think it got to 101 degrees. Course was in decent shape. Greens were great. Some fairways need attending to ( dirt spots, etc ) and alot of the fairways were muddy...yes...muddy, even as hot as it was. I like the layout, and I'll play it again.

This course is beautiful and can use some serious improvement with the upkeep of the fairways. Your tee shots will not go as far as you would like them too but that just makes it more of a challenge to pick the right club for the job each stroke.

Their is alot of wildlife on this course like most of them courses in this county you will find all kinds of different ones. If you enjoy the idea like I do being able to golf with animals about as you play your game then this is no doubt a course to play.

The staff is firendly but the club house could use some new things to keep the players interested in more then just the price of green fees.

The slopes of this course will challenge your ability to put the ball in the right spot. Good course for the price and will continue to play there for years to come.

I noticed that golfindolphin23 has played Chalk Mountain 3 times in the over the past 10 months. He must like it better than he thinks. I recently played the course. It has room for improvement primarily with mowing the fairways. However, if you keep it down the center it is not that bad. The greens were in fairly good condition considering the amount of heat the area gets.

golfindolphin23 - PISMO BEACH
Played with a group today after getting a free round coupon via e-mail. That was the best thing about this course,, free golf. If I would have paid anything over $20 i would feel ripped off. Fairways were being tore up by some mulching type mower, still difficult to determine the fairways from the rough. Only good thing about this poor county course was the greens. sand was bad, dead dirt patches all over, thios course is bad. Now I can see why they are offering so many deals via internet

This course has been through a rough winter and did not hold up well. The tee boxes are not mowed, the fairways and the ruff are hard to tell apart, and the greens were the slowest and bumpiest I have ever played. If not for the price and the fact that my buddy works in the pro shop, I would not return to this place. The squirrells outnumbered the golfers, somebody call a rodent killer.

This place is a dog track. brown fairways, poor greens and a bunch of yokels running around in cut off fatigues and wife beaters. Ohter than that, about what you would expect from a poor county course.

Mature county course. Interesting layout, with a variety of clubs used off the tee. Greens in good shape. It can get a little hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so spring and fall are the best times to play.
