Jim Engh is my favorite course designer. So it was great to get back out here after a few years. The course has matured so nicely since my last visit 3 years ago. This is truly one of Engh's best designs IMO. As I said previously it is one course you will either love or hate. No bunkers but huge what they call hogbacks to navigate. Even large mounds in the greens. Greens are large and undulating and had great speed in them, so putting was a challenge. But when isn't it. Fairways had good coverage and lies and the roll was outstanding. Mostly all desert outside of the fairways and some little canyons to navigate as well from tees. Plus while the area looks flat, you are at 5 K feet. I love the back 9 here as it has 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's. An Engh design on most of his courses (Lakota Canyon, Golf Club at Redlands Mesa). The course is about a 45 minute drive from Pueblo but well worth the drive IMO if you are in the area. Short drive from CO Springs as well. But it is a course you won't likely forget after you play it.
