   Member Since: December 30, 2002 Favorite Golfer: GK'ers Favorite Golf Course: Wolf Creek Golf Club    | Friday June 1, 2012 12:27 AM Looks like June could be another month where JohnnyGK gets to break free of the monitor and play golf with his favorite golfers in the world – GK’ers. I struck the ball very well in May but could not buy a putt...so, I just did the “unthinkable” while in Scottsdale last month, I bought a new putter and benched the Hot Dog putter. Hot Dog putter fans fear not because I’ve done this 3 other times and about 6 to 12 months later the Dog has found his way back into my starting line up. But this time I dropped a good chunk of change and bought a PING Answer Milled Black Dot Face-Weighted putter and man does it feel GOOD! - Should the Dog be worried?Here’s what is in store for June. 6-2: GK Event – Mt. Woodson 6-15 & 6-16: GK Plays – Stevinson Ranch 6-24: GK Plays – Buenaventura (still working out the details there) Might get down to Carlsbad to check out The Crossing at Carlsbad newly renovated 18th hole – love that back nine. Thinking of getting up to La Purisima and/or Rancho San Marcos. A couple of my favorites in the Santa Barbara area. Loving the stories be posted - LONG DAYS in JUNE - Let's Play Some Golf!  Member Since: November 5, 2011 Favorite Golfer: Donald Molinari Manassero Favorite Golf Course: Golfing Around the World | Saturday June 2, 2012 5:47 AM I'll be back on 6-24 and I've been able to book two tee times at Torrey Pines on 6-25 and 6-26 so I can't make for Buenaventura.But I really look forward to play together again. In July I'll may be back on the 12th or 19th. If you can work out on planning a GK Event/Plays on 7-13 or 7-20 I'll try to be there. The Crossings @ Carlsbad is a great course. I played there twice last year. Another course you might consider is Moorpark CC...one of my favorites. I think is perfect place to organize a Gk Event. www.skygolfblog.com Golfing Around The World |

Great $36 rate in the afternoon. Fireballa24 and I played our match and he took it after 21 holes. I had a good chance to close it out on the first extra hole. Decent drive to the left side rough left me with a knock-down 9-iron to a front pin, about 115 yards into a stiff ocean breeze. It was a real good shot that drew itself right to the pin. My putting kind of let me down most of the day and this was no different. I hit my 6 footer too hard to the right side of the cup and lipped it out. We went to the par 5's: holes 2 and 4. We tied hole 2 and then Taylor just took over on hole 4, bombing a great drive over the small pine tree and then getting on in two, while I left my drive behind a rock and had to lay up in the wrong fairway to the right. Taylor played great, scrambling from the worst of the junk that Olivas has to offer, shooting 2 over for a 74. It was fun and exiting, finishing near the end of the day with fog and wind blowing through the course. |

Member Since: September 22, 2006 Favorite Golfer: N/A Favorite Golf Course: Barona Creek | Sunday June 3, 2012 7:14 PM Shot an 84 in a tournament at Los Serranos South. Par 74 and I believe I shot my handicap (from the whites). However, my putting was pretty darn good and I was hitting the ball pretty good so I was disappointed with my score. Bogeying two of the three par fives on the front nine hurt. Losing two balls (!!!!) on number 11 hurt more - I was satisfied with the 8 I took on that par four. Went for it in two on the par five 16th with a five iron from 185 yards. My ball skipped twice in the pond (I was yelling for it to skip before it was half way there), hit the far bank and dropped back into the water. Was able to get up and down from the rough on the fairway side of the water hazard (15' downhill putt) for a par. On number 9 I got a closest to the pin (15'8") and a skin for the birdey. Hopefully my game has turned a positive corner. |

 Member Since: March 21, 2006 Favorite Golfer: Tiger Woods, Fred Couples Favorite Golf Course: Sandpiper, La Purisma, Ru | Monday June 4, 2012 1:30 PM Probably played some of the better golf I have ever played in May 2012 but struggled on Sat 6/2 at River Ridge Lakes with three of my buddies. Highlight of the day after a topped tee shot on #8 was a 3 wood from 260 yds to a foot...easy ho-hum birdie(lol)... Tee shots were generally bombed and in great positions...just could not hit any type of iron to save my life(hooks, blocks, you name it) found 6 greenside bunkers with my irons...Finished with a 40-40-80. Course is in great shape...happy golfing to all. |

Sheeeesh........how time flies when you play most every day!! My June scores for so far are 84-79-74-82. (72.5cr 137slope)I've had some bad rounds, but I'm not too worried because I feel like my game is back to normal. My USGA index revised from 4.2 to 2.2 on the June1 revision and it looks like it'll drop even lower for the June 15th revision. I didn't play today because of a scramble, but I will play 3 of the next 4 days. That's as far as I plan ahead....LOL...I may end up playing 9 out of the next 10 days for all I know!!!!...I just don't plan that far in advance. |

Tee to green is great so I am happy with my game.....but my putting touch has left me. No feel, lots of 3 putts.....and nothing is going in. Not a good combination. I turned what should have been 69-75.....into 74-80 thanks to the putter. I'm not complaining about the 74, but sheesh....I'm putting terribly right now. I'm sure my putting will return when I start playing like crap tee-to-green again. LOL |
