After playing so poorly last weekend. Something clicked when playing yesterday. Played Costa Mesa CC (Mesa Linda) I started Dbl Bgy, Bgy and was thinking oh great here we go again. They I had 4 consecutive pars missing on 2 birdie putts by inches. I finished the front in 42 which compared to last weeks 51 I was excited.

Then the back nine came around and my short game caught fire. I had 4 pars 2 birdies and 3 bogeys. never had more than a 10 foot putt. Came in shooting 36 after missing a 2 foot birdie to shoot even on the back.

Very excited to play well and shoot 78! Even though its a shorter course you have to be accurate coming in to the greens as a lot of them are tiered and have no straight putts.

Hey Matt, would that be the same guy that shot 78 that threatened triple digits last week? Nice comeback!

Pretty brutal to have five pars on the front nine and still shoot 8 over thanks to two blowup hole triples and two bogeys. This was the precursor to a back nine at El Dorado where I could not buy a par after tripling 10 and after that went on a bogey train all the way until a par on 18. The final result? A 90 that should have been much more like an 84 or 85 if I could just keep myself together better and avoid the blowups!

82 at Rancho San Marcos during my consolation round. Had 3 birdies and the driver was firing nicely with six measuring over 265 yds. Including a 286 & 289 Yarder. Even though I didn't match my 299 yard bomb from the first round, the driver was way more consistent and set me up for 10 GIR's. A couple of penalty strokes and two missed easy birdie putts kept this from being my 5th ever sub 80 round.

First round since the Coyote Springs outing was at Reflection Bay yesterday. Wasn't expecting much but fared better than expected. 78 with a a bird, a few bogeys, and a few pars. No blow ups which was nice. Looking forward to some GK rounds this weekend!

Shot a decent 86 at Lakewood on Saturday. Best part was avoiding any big blowups (triples or worse) all day with minimal doubles thanks to a few unwarranted three-putts with some tough pin positions all day. Somehow my usually solid putting has gone by the wayside a bit and I could have easily been around 82 or 83 had I not missed some short ones that I normally would make with my eyes closed. That's frustrating. Off to New Mexico again this week and have a Saturday tee time set for Paa-Ko Ridge so looking forward to that gem.
