There's a lot of different golf balls out there in level categories or your ranking weather they are premium golf balls or otherwise... different in color or the popular white balls. Popular in tour or just popular among friends in golf.

I've gone as far as ordering a year's supply for many years now- and I like that I can have it personalized, but then I've also purchased a bag of lake balls and were very happy with them all.

As far as brand and type, the most I've ever played is the Titleist Pro V1, then the Pro V1x, then the Srixon Z star at a brief point.

What balls do you play?

Just picked up four dozen K-Sig balls, will be using those for the foreseeable future. Over the past year I've used Chrome Soft, Snell MTB, and MG C4 balls, but the K-Sig has much better performance-to-value than any ball I've used prior.

Bottom line is I prefer three or four piece balls with higher compression numbers and urethane covers. The Chrome Soft was almost too soft for me, it would marshmallow off the driver at times.

I keep going back to the Bridgestone E6, it seems I get better distance and control all around better than the other balls I have tried.

I'm a sucker for 2 things, cheap and "soft." This year I think I've played the following:

MaxFli Softfli (2 for $25 at Golf Galaxy)
Wilson Duo (picked up a few boxes for $10, Sports Authority going out of business sale)
Callaway Hex Soft (2 for $25 at Costco)
Callaway Hex Control (ditto)
Callaway Supersoft (birthday gift in Pink)
Titleist TrueSoft (free gift card to Golfballs.com)

I also like to find anything in color: orange, yellow, pink, etc... (except BLUE, I have no idea what Nike was thinking with the blue Mojos, but you lose them easily on a clear day)

Anything that promises to keep the driver sidespin down. I find I tend to slice/hook the higher priced "pro" balls. I'm interested to see how I play the K-Sigs when I finally pick up the 2 pack (2 for $30!).

1st choice - free - jk, most of the time I will give these to the juniors I know

Any ball that spins well on the short game is ok with me, if I buy then it will be ProV1 or Z star.

I have been on a quest lately to get a great ball that I can see the best and tried the Volvik vivid but the greenside control lacked so for now the Z star tops the list. Another member mentioned dyeing the white balls, so that is an option.

In early September, I paid $20 for a bag of mixed used Pro V1 & Pro V1x (25 balls) from a friend who lives on a course. It was mostly Pro V1 and they all are very shiny and brand new. Less than a handful of them were marked with a thin Sharpie marker and had a dot or a line, some had a logo. I took about 8 of them for play that are no logo- no mark- and I could tell they were the Pro V1 that came out 2015 (real nice clean) and the rest, I tossed it in my practice shag bag after I took out some much older Pro V1 from it.

I'm real happy about having to replace my chipping balls with new Pro V1, at the range, the chips are that much more special.

The only other place where I found a great deal for golf balls (any brand) is at the swap meet by the college of the canyon on Sundays.
