I'm going to be traveling a bit more. I was in Atlanta recently without my clubs and had a long layover. Found College Park Golf Course, a regulation 9-holer, ten minutes away. Got a ride to and from, a cart, some balls to borrow and clubs for under $80. The course? Did I mention it was 10 mins. from the airport? The layout was fun and challenging. The greens were really close to the airport as were fairways - it was mowed grass. The traps were decent. I had a blast. Anyway, it got me thinking about other courses close to airports where you might be able to get a round in in less than 6 hours and $120, including clubs, green fees, balls and Uber ride. I could only think of two others, but I know this forum has countless. Balboa in SD and Murphy Creek in Denver are the other two and both would be a struggle to complete in under six on a weekend. Thanks for the help.

Well.... Westchester near LAX meets the 6 hour requirement. But I'm not sure they have rentals.
Like you said, it's mowed grass, there are bunkers, the greens are sometimes good....Nothing fancy.
And prob under $80 if they had rentals. Under $30 if you have your own clubs, so if rentals are $40, this could qualify as the winner, haha!

DFW has two courses within minutes of it called Bear Creek and its a 36 hole complex.

SLC has a course adjacent to I 80 minutes from the terminal.

Kalispell, MT has several courses within minutes of the airport.

Portland, OR has a couple very close.

Bali Hai in Las Vegas could potentially qualify. If we're talking about summer twilight times then it can be done and that's probably one of the nicer options that would fit the criteria.

Goose Creek is a short ride from ONT but nobody ever has a long layover in ONT!

Mamala Bay Golf Course is located on the grounds of HNL/Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam but you'd need base access. Might be the most scenic airport course in the states

By Dulles Airport is 1757 Golf Club. It's probably 5 miles from the airport so proximity it meets your criteria but it's been a few years since I've been there and might be on the pricey side.

There is also an executive course right by SeaTac (forget what it's called). But it's so close I believe one of the tee boxes there is a fence behind it and on the other side is the runway so its really close.

Metropolitan Golf Links sits just outside of Oakland Airport entrance, less than two miles from the terminal to the club house. I have never played it and have no direct knowledge, but was planning to hit it after landing and before heading into SF on a short trip to the bay area a couple of years back. I didn't end up making the trip.

They don't list rental clubs on their site, but you never know unless you call and check. There is a green-fee price bump for non-residents, but it's not overly pricey to begin with and it would fall well within your range, even with rental clubs.

Broadmoor literally borders PDX in Portland. 15 minutes tops to/from even taking the circular route over the bridge. Fun, older course.

The goal is long and straight! But on the many times I cannot seem to hit them straight, I at least want to hit them long!
