Was about to write a scathing review of Chester Washington where I made an online reservation 2 hours ahead of my 9:30 tee time and show up to find they are claiming to be an hour behind on all times. Hang until 10 and find the 8:30 group is just teeing off - then I leave in disgust. By this time there are carts full of people everywhere - they starter is running around like a drunk person yelling at people to share carts because they are out of golf carts and things look like they are crawling out there on the course. There is no way I'm finishing before 4 o'clock.

I'm still pissed (can you tell?) and open to suggestions of what to do next in this situation. I was going to write a poor review but since I hadn't even got out to play - I couldn't really comment on playing conditions - which I think is when GK is more about - it's not just YELP for golf courses.

Just posting this rant is enough to get the ball rolling re. CW, Kassper7. I had an 'issue' with this course over a decade ago and have yet to return ... actually scratched it from my list for good. From what I've heard from several golf buds it was a good move. Your post confirms it.

You did exactly the right thing by posting it as a forum post and not a review Perry - Thank You!

My Chester story. Before the recession, when golf courses were really crowded, on Saturday morning I got on the waiting list at Alondra. It was an obvious 2 to 2 1/2 hour wait. I hung around a little while then drove to Chester. I was third on the list. I ate breakfast and hit a small bucket of balls. They never called anyone off the list. I gave up, drove back to Alondra, and they called my name soon after I got back.

Another time, I walked on at twilight and got out pretty quickly. It was quite slow, at least a five hour pace for 18, when we got to the 7th tee and there were five or six groups waiting. I have never seen anything like it at any other course. It was at least a 45 minute wait on that tee????? I walked off.

I only go to Chester now for tournaments or team play.

I have never had a problem here, as I always booked early and 1 week out. But I still do not play here, as I do not like the condition of the course. + I hate holes 7,8,9. Most screwed up holes on a golf course (IMO) next 2 hole # 13 at Los Verdes.

I wrote the course about my experience and yesterday roarksown1 and I played a free round as an apology for what I went through. I guess now I HAVE to review it since I played it.
