What do you think? is this the culmination of the focus on slow play or is something else at work here?

Its unfortunate but this just shows that racism and sexism it alive and well in many places in our country.
With a president who encourages both it won"t get better any time soon

Seems like both slow play (5-somes) and prejudice are in play in the video.

Not a good look for a new co-owner there. His wife apologized, but nothing from him so far, it seems. Don't think the axiom, 'any publicity is good publicity' applies here.

Some interesting posts to their facebook page, as one can imagine.

Saw some posts on Yelp for the golf course, and aside from the ones that are highly negative in response to this incident over the weekend, the few others were pretty negative on the course and staff as well previously, including calling it a 'dog track'.

Just don't understand the need to 'call for the police' on slow play. I don't get it. Doesn't seem like the ladies were doing anything to damage the course or carts, etc., so seems like the call for them was excessive/abusive of the co-owner's position of power. The group behind them didn't seem to be in all that much of a hurry to me. Would be good to learn how much of a 'gap' there was to the group in front of them. Really not sure why, if indeed they were lagging, the group behind would not be able to play through? Seems there was no prior discourse about slow play until the 10th tee, when they were 'ordered to leave' the course. I doubt 5 white men would've had the same treatment.

I've had the misfortune of golfing with any number of racist and misogynist golfers, most notably, several times at San Juan Hills GC, but elsewhere, too. There does seem to be a popular assumption that 'women golfers' are always slower than men, and guys will openly grumble about it during the round. No excuse for that behavior and treatment of these golfers in that way.

Definitely NOT slow play. The report says they were given a warning about slow play on the 2nd hole. The second hole?!?! C'mon.
