Hello All,

Has anybody tried this yet? Does it work well? Is it worth it? It seems as though it is a great idea for both the club member and the non-member.

Thanks,
Trevor

downloaded & signed up. the search feature where you put in zipcode or city doesn't appear to be working correctly because no clubs come up within 100 miles of LA, yet california country club has an avail TT up for 5/15. seems like a good app (boxgroove / open rounds are great sites but no apps) but as always theyll struggle to get private clubs on board for reasons both legit & b.s.

the Green Fee for California CC they have listed is $60 due at course, with a service fee of $15 per player to the app before hand. so $75 per person which isn't unreasonable.

I'm sure there will be bumps in the road (and I have to imagine the really exclusive clubs won't be available since those members probably don't need to offset their membership dues), but in theory this seems really cool to me.

That's what I got out of the App. The only one that I saw was available = CA CC for $75 (60+15). I have a bunch of CC available, but on the app on the home page it says "web" and if you press that button, it takes you to their web site with no special access or tee times (availability).

It sounds like a great idea, but I too worry about the money aspect of it, although I would love to play some of the CC's. I just want to golf - so kill me because I cannot afford it - eck!

If this is just a stumbling block, I hope they are able to get past it and make it worth while.

Thanks for sharing,
Trevor

i know they have a search glitch issue going on. seems like the founder is a socal guy so you'll likely only see TTs around here for now. safe to say the chances you ever see a LACC Riv or BelAir posted are slim to none unless a member there is willing to sign up for the app as a host.

Signed up today and love the concept, but I think they'll be getting a ton of guests and unfortunately not too many hosts. I have a feeling that people who can afford the country clubs around here aren't really in that much need of an extra $20 here or there, and they surely don't want to get the reputation around their club for bringing in outsiders. That being said, it costs nothing to join and so I don't see any problem following how it progresses. I would imagine one should jump on any tee time they want swiftly as there are going to be a lot more people hunting than offering. Right now the only tee time I see is for Valencia Country Club in a week.

what makes EGN and to an extent boxgroove.com unique are that being a member of a private club isn't mandatory for site/app membership. with openrounds, the now defunct elite tee and a few others, you have to have a private CC membership to take advantage of the sites.

Is boxgroove.com the same thing/concept? I'll check it out. Thanks.
