Woodson Golf Club in Ramona, CA. Its even more intimidating after you play it and see how thin/long that green is. Love this hole. ![]() ![]() GK FACEBOOK - Please check it out - CLICK HERE - I'm doing fun posts all the time. |

White tees, though (blue marker on white box). That green looks VERY small from the tips (card yardage - 214) with the yawning quarry lake to the front, left, and behind! ![]() Remember, we could be at work!! |

Love that hole.I love that course. I would say the most intimidating par 3 I have ever played is the Boulders South No 16 (Only from the tips) by far. I was having a magic round. A Friday carefree round with a non golfer where I was loose and it was all flowing. I was maybe 3 over I believe. From the TIPS it is a 230 yard 100% tee to green forced carry blind tee shot. During that day I could not see any part of the green. A large tree blocks the entire middle and left side of the green. There's a bunker on the left side of the green. The tips are from the far left so you have to hit a hit draw over the tree that carries 215 + I was 100% intimidated by the hole and the shot. I could not get a sight reference I was comfortable with and proceeded to hit 3 OB and nuke my round. [[Edited by sdscratchorbust on Friday January 18, 2019 6:52 PM]] ![]() |

I'm probably putting it into the hill on the left and hoping for a "members" kick or a roll down the hill. I'll take 4 on the box and walk away now.![]() |

OQ 14 is wide open short and right. Taken 4s both times I've played it, once into the bunker back left.I feel the same about LV Paiute's Wolf #8 vs #15. 15 is wide open but an island green. 8's green is half hidden by a huge hill left that actually helps kick it towards most hole positions but has the 25 foot deep bunker right. Off the tee, you just feel you have no margin for error unless you've played it a few times. ![]() |

Woodson. What you don't know from the tee on your first time playing it is that there's a little bit of fairway short of the green that makes it possible to survive even if you don't hit your shot perfectly. Once I realized that, the intimidation factor was lessened a little. Still intimidating, no doubt, and a super-fun hole. ![]() |
