That's a nice blade putter- I read there that you added weight towards the toe. Q. Isn't that putter already toe heavy- did it need more?

My wife was given a nice Lynx putter almost like yours (circa mid 80's). When she didn't play, I've always thought of modifying it with lead tapes. lol Well, as time went on, that was the only one golf equipment I wasn't allowed to touch.

My first putter was an old Ping Anser with lead tapes on its head and a counter balance on its fat grip. Used it through '08 or so. I might look for it now that we're on nostalgic mode.

You going for retro coolness or performance? The oversized grip sort of ruins the retro coolness factor for me. However, performance wise I enjoy having an oversized grip on my putters so I totally get it.

I like it. The super sized grip was a game changer for me. I lift so I have big arms and strong hands so the super stroker really made a difference for me when I switched.

In terms of your customizations. Putting is all about confidence. The placebo effect is also the most well documented and best ailment for all cures of all time.

So. You customize it how you want it. Believe the customization will help your putting and they will.

As I learned from the best putter I have ever seen in person. "It is all about willing the ball in the hole" - Johnny GK

Johnny made the deepest putts I have ever seen a person make with a weiner putter if that doesn't say enough.

Haven’t played with a “stock” putter in at least 10 years. ALWAYS cut it down (short legs means short putter). Add lead tape as needed for better balance/weight due to cutting it down - adjust lie if needed as well. Added tape under the grip, then changed to SuperStroke when it came out. Modified the color and/or design of the alignment aid.

Current model is 32” with a Winn 1.32 grip and slightly altered alignment aid. Going to try adding a little more weight but it’s the best one so far.

I know some pros fill their shafts with sand. Has anyone ever tried this?
