Going to Denver on business in August and going to try to sneak in a round of golf. Any suggestions on a course near downtown where I am staying that is near enough to take a taxi or Uber to? I've looked online and see there's an Overland Park and Willis Case course nearby, but any first hand knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Just dropping a quick note because I was in a similar situation a year or two back, albeit in November, when it was coooold out in Denver. I took a quick Uber from downtown and played Overland Park with a friend who came in from the suburbs. The course is fairly standard muni and I found it to be in good condition when I played it, but obviously I was playing in winter conditions. Not the most challenging course, but I had a good time. I think I left a review on greenskeeper. I can't speak to Willis Case.

Yes! I was just there and have played several courses. If you want a nice course for a good price go for "Spring Valley." In my opinion the hardest course I've ever played is out near Denver. It's called "Bear Dance."

Either course is wonderful and you will find it much nicer conditions and nicer amenities than most CA courses.

Depends where you are staying? Downtown, you will have limited choices, but Fossil Trace would be a good choice, using Uber, IMO. If you are staying in the Denver Tech area, you have many choices? Ridge @ Castle Rock, Plum Creek, Bear Dance.

Best suggestion? Review the many choices listed under Course Search and see which ones have high ratings and then see how far it is from you lodging.

Texted my buddy who lives in Denver. Here's what he wrote me back:

"Riverdale Dunes is best. Maybe a $20 Uber ride but best pub course I know. City Park and Park Hill really close but … dumps. Common Ground good option as well."

Have fun!

In that case, as you have a car. Go play TPC Colorado. You will not regret it. I can guarantee that.

From the website - In addition to private memberships, TPC Colorado also has a limited number of tee times available for the public to book. To reserve your tee time, please call 970-663-5063.

While Ridge @ C P is nice, I feel TPC is much better, IMO. And if was driving to Castle Pines, I would go a few miles down to Larkspur and play Bear Dance. If your friend is from the Springs, then he will or hopefully will, know this course.

Personally, I feel that R@ C P is over priced for out of town player. Just my opinion.

The Ridge at Castle Pines is also fantastic if you've got wheels now!
