Was just reading the new world handicap system to be implemented world-wide in 2020 and was wondering if, and how, this will
impact (or change) how Greenskeeper does its handicapping. What, if anything, will Greenskeeper change in the computation of
our handicaps? Also, if changes are coming, how will the membership be notified? As a longtime member, I have always thought
Greenskeeper handicap system superior to the USGA handicap system but see the new world-wide handicap system will be
incorporating a few changes that Greenskeeper has done for years (like daily change in handicap versus USGA 1st and 15th of
of the month). Thank you, Carlo Petroni

Since Greenskeeper.org has it own handicapping system that is independent of the USGA, I suspect that overdue changes to their system will have nothing to do with the GK Scoretracker.

The goal is long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, could I at least hit them straighter?

Current Scoretracker index calculated by adding/averaging lowest 10 of previous 20 differentials.

New WHS uses 8 lowest of 20 most recent differentials.

Will ST now move to lowest 8, or continue to use lowest 10?

Continue with lowest 10 ... and I know this might be another topic but I think 8 is ridiculous. They had it right the first time with your best 50% as your likely index when you play well. Think of how much more incorrectly skewed your index will be if you have that fluke super low round. Tell you what. They think they have problem with sandbaggers not wanting to post low scores, wait to see how much that problem exaggerates. Seriously what is the thinking of using LESS posted scores (less data) to be more accurate?

Exactly Nick.

CDF (Course Difficulty Factor) is not based on USGA or World Handicap math. The results might come out close but they not the same.

OK, so in our current Match Play format the players have a mix of ST and GHIN indexes.

Are you confident that the new GHIN system will maintain the comparability to ST we've assumed in the past?

Its hard to say at this point. Guessing in "most" cases it will remain close.
