Well seeing as how the sports world is shut down for the foreseeable future I will be turning to my fellow GK'ers for my daily sports fix. So for those that are able to get out and (safely) play please write as many reviews as possible to help fill the void I'm sure we're all feeling!

Also...can I make wagers on the GK Cup or Birdie Chain Battles? I might be a slight degenerate

The Traveling Birdie Chain is safely resting in its NorCal home/nest . I had to hire a private security guard to protect it from being stolen by Rob

I would watch a livestream of some GK Cup matches or even just a casual GK’er round.

Sunday morning. Patchy clouds with very little wind.
Sunday afternoon. Cloud covered skies breezy 12-15 miles an hour with light showers.

No staff
No food and beverage
Not a golf course both sites

Out in the open desert of Antelope Valley with beautiful scenery, I took with me a bag of balls and a few clubs and a laser finder. In the afternoon, I had my whole bag with me and more golf balls. Both times I hopped on the four by and got as far away as I could from anyone in sight which isn't hard to do from where I live anyway.

The morning terrain I found was towards east and a slight up hill facing some wild but patchy poppy flowers. In the afternoon, I was on top of a hill with some gorgeous terrains below, somewhere in the west side.

I never thought I would say this about a land of tumbleweeds, Joshua trees and maybe some type of junipers with some patchy poppy flowers from a distance, but I found it to be gorgeous, peaceful and perfect for target golf ball shooting. I was able to hike up and down but it was less than a half a mile all together. But in the end I was able to satisfy some parts of golf activity.

I still have 3 big box of old but used golf balls that I'm saving for when some high school coach need golf balls for their students- I give it away. But lately, they haven't needed any and maybe because every golf dad has been donating old golf balls, too.

It was fun and relaxing. I think I'll do this again.

So I just played my first round under the new “Social Distancing” rules. It was different but definitely manageable. First off, I paid online so there wasn’t an issue in that department. The pro shop had a sign that said one customer inside at a time. I know dragonfly has shut down the pro-shop completely and has a kiosk at the tee to check in golfers and take credit card payment.

I elected to walk but others were single person to a cart. It took some getting used to looking down range and seeing 4 carts out.

There were no rakes in the bunkers but the two I were in were fine. I managed to avoid where others had landed and I did what the others did and just used my foot to “smooth” out my steps and area in the bunker that I disturbed.

The pins were removed completely and the cups were raised 2” so it was considered holed if you hit the cup. It was weird not seeing a flag but after a few holes I didn’t even notice really. Just did the “go for the middle of the green” which is probably what I should be doing anyway. I Didn’t have anything to shoot with the laser finder but with a pin placement chart and my GPS phone app I was able to still get a decent yardage. And though my irons were off a bit today, I can’t say it was because of the lack of a pin. I just had a case of the slight right all day long. Which with the driver being solid most of the day really bummed me to miss that many greens from being in the fairway. Oh well. At least I was out on the course. Didn’t have anything to shoot with the laser finder but with a pin placement chart and my GPS phone app I was able to still get a decent yardage.

All in all, I survived and for a temporary means of getting us out there, I’m all for it.
