| Friday June 15, 2012 9:00 AM I am playing here next Friday. Do you find that the ball carries here better than in LA. If so, by how much? Desert air help, elevation? |

| Friday June 15, 2012 9:03 PM IF your playing the Paiute courses...IF the WIND is blowing which it usually does, it WON'T MATTER how much you calculate for the elevation..btw, Las Vegas elevation is 2,185. The course sits just below MT. Charleston mountain range.
NICE BIG LETTERS on the website "2800 FEET ABOVE STRESS LEVEL".
My personal opinion? I would ADD an increase in distance of 5-7 yards per club with a maximum of 10 yards.

| Monday June 18, 2012 6:01 PM The Wind: it's not "if" it's blowing, just how hard. It picks up during the day, so the earlier the better.
Temps: Looking at 100+ in Vegas, but it's almost 10 degrees cooler at Paiute.
Fairways were firm with lots of run a few weeks ago. Check out their website, they have yardage book type pics and tips for each course. |

| Thursday June 21, 2012 1:29 PM Every time I play in Vegas, I take 1 less club for each shot. Even then, I'm usually long. In a nice hot day, it'll travel 10% + compared to LA. I remember last time I played Paiute Wolf in fairly calm condition with 5 mph wind or so, I remember I was out 180 yds playing uphill. I hit my 5 iron (175 yd club for me) and it carried completely over the green. It carried 190 yd+ and another 5 yds of roll.
The other 2 times I played here (snow and sun mt), temperature was 40 degree with 25+ mph wind and another time, it was 50+ mph wind so club selection was the last thing I was worrying about. Down wind, all the par 4 became par 3, and against the wind, it became par 6. When the gush came, golf ball rolled completely off the green. It sure was an interesting experience with tumble weed rolling in front of you while trying to putt.
