This is the new rule for 2019 and after watching the PGA this week, it really shows how out of touch the USGA is on rules. Every pro I saw drop had to sqat down or get in a funky position to drop. As far as I know all golfers are humans, men and women, ( although somtimes there is a debate, LOL) and "humans" don't have arms down to their knees like apes do. This is a stupid rule, it should have been arms length.

So my "throw it from knee height as I drive the cart up to the area I think it crossed" may not count? PS- I also listen to music, take one mulligan a round, enjoy a beer or 2 (PEDs?) and practice putts after I hole out so I may not exactly play by the "rules."

And I agree with you, a drop should be anywhere from shoulder to knee height, I don't care if they short arm it from waist high.

Grounding the club in the hazard is a savior, love the rule.

Have fun folks!

The reason the drop was lowered to knee height when taking relief was to help keep the ball in the newly defined 'relief area'.
