| Member Since: July 15, 2012 Favorite Golfer: N/A Favorite Golf Course: Indian Wells - Celebrity | Sunday July 15, 2012 7:53 PM First off, I'm a new user, just joined and started entering my rounds for stat keeping. I've been using another site for years, but recently came across this site and generally very much like what I see.Now maybe I'm missing something because I'm new, but it seems to me that there is a lot of room for improvement in the Stats department. Every stat that is currently kept is an AVERAGE. Averages are good and useful, but so are TOTALS PER ROUND, and ALL-TIME BESTS. After entering details of a round, I should be able to see in a recap how many eagles, birdies, pars, bogeys, doubles, mores, putts, FIRs, GIRs, and saves I had that round. I should also be able on the Stats Overview page to see my all-time records in each category listed above plus score for 9 and total score. I can do all of this at my other stats tracking site, but I would really like to ditch it in favor of this one. Just a suggestion that I'm sure would benefit everybody. Aside from that, love the site! ![]() |

Member Since: January 17, 2008 Favorite Golfer: Tom Watson(Not TW),Zach J Favorite Golf Course: Eagle Falls/Sand H/Sky Mt | Sunday July 15, 2012 9:03 PM Welcome to the site.....I BELIEVE the information you are looking for are under the following tab:"SCORE TRACKER" tab, then go to: "GOLF COURSE STATS" tab, then select which course you want to see: You should see "VIEW STATISTICS", then look for "SCORECARD COURSE" in the drop down menu. SCROLL down to the bottom of the page, should see "HOLE BY HOLE STATS" EX: One course I played was the BLACK tees & the Other was the SILVER tees for the same golf course. The FLWG is JUST an example, not anyone's individual posting... Maybe I'm wrong? I've been wrong before.... ~ATG~ [[Edited by addictedtugolf on Sunday July 15, 2012 11:14 PM]] Bottom line? Member Since: March 24, 2004 Favorite Golfer: Jesus C thinks he's Jack Favorite Golf Course: Spanish Bay Pebble Beach | Monday July 16, 2012 6:59 PM Ok maybe I am missing the point here. But why do you need to have lifetime totals when you have a percentage that can pretty much tell you what to expect playing any golf course. But if you really want that sort of information consult the pie charts located to the left column. They list overall and front 9 and back 9 numbers. If you look at the pie charts they list total par 3, 4 and 5's played as well as the average score per hole type. Hope that helps. Just another thought, from a statistical point of view. Since statistics show general trends that you have a tendency to play versus historical data I just don't understand how that information is relevant? Put another way, I want to see where I am trending towards versus what I have done in the past to help my game in the present. I just don't understand the relevance of data that is perhaps 1-2 years old versus data that is perhaps 6 months and current. If you can help me understand your line of thought then we can consider your request but as I said from a purely statistical point of view why is that information relevant? Consider we also offer your game broken down by shot where you can compare your scrambling skills and focus on where your current game requires attention. That is to say check your stats for putting and par saves. For that check out your overall playing statistics. If you still question the veracity of our focus consider reading the following statistical analysis of the golf game. Click HERE It further illustrates why we do what we do. | Member Since: July 15, 2012 Favorite Golfer: N/A Favorite Golf Course: Indian Wells - Celebrity | Monday July 16, 2012 7:33 PM Let me try to explain further. When I play golf, I do so always with the mindset of improving. I want to improve my performance, against a given course, and overall. Improved performance is not purely dictated by final score. When I go play Course X, I want to know, what is the most amount of pars I've ever had in a round here? What about birdies? How many doubles did I have last time? Oh, I had 4 pars, 2 birdies and 4 doubles? My goal for today is 5 pars, 3 birdies and 3 or less doubles. Maybe I'm not even comparing to all-time. If I know I am currently not playing my best golf, I might just want to know how I did in my last round. You are probably thinking I could get the same thing with percentages. Nope. Percentages are intangible. Real numbers are tangible. I don't want to have to think about what percentage 4 pars in a round versus 5 pars in a round is. I know with absolute certainty I am not the only one who thinks this way. Everybody I play with thinks the same (and not from my influence) and I bet a whole lot more people would agree. Now a percentage that would be very useful to me, is to know say, 50% of the time I shoot par or better on a given hole. On that other hole, I have never shot better than par (0%). Hmm, knowing that, I'm probably playing the first hole correctly. On the second hole I need to find a different way to play that hole because whatever I'm doing clearly isn't working. But this is not a percentage the site currently provides! [[Edited by jeff300 on Monday July 16, 2012 7:37 PM]] |

Member Since: March 24, 2004 Favorite Golfer: Jesus C thinks he's Jack Favorite Golf Course: Spanish Bay Pebble Beach | Monday July 16, 2012 7:46 PM Also if you require historical data consult the menu bar above the Score Tracker. There is a black bar with the first tab marked Overview. click Golf Course Stats. If you entered your data using either our golf course score cards or did custom golf course score cards select one of them and the golf course you wish to view. You can essentially drill down to the hole of each golf course to get the data you require. To do this consult the black menu bar again and click Hole by Hole statistics. Choose the golf course and date filter ( or just choose No date filter). Check out your hole by hole statistics section and it will outline how many pars, birdies, eagles penalties and the like. If you want overall totals I don't see how that would be relevant because each course is different each hole is different and to say one par 4 is the same as any other par 4 you have played would not be correct. Just like saying a par 4 at say Moorpark is similar to a par 4 at Alondra Park. Yardage perhaps, but size of fairways, OB and trouble (i.e. bunkers and water hazards). I just don't think it's far to you. Perhaps by golf course by hole that would make better sense which we do have. Work Hard. Play Golf! www.ace-cases.com Private Citizen. |

Member Since: March 24, 2004 Favorite Golfer: Jesus C thinks he's Jack Favorite Golf Course: Spanish Bay Pebble Beach | Monday July 16, 2012 7:48 PM Ok jeff then my above post does answer that question since it is by golf course and offers you total historical data. Good luck. Please note that in order for this to work properly you need to enter all the hole by hole statistics for each golf course and every round you play. Member Since: July 16, 2008 Favorite Golfer: El Tigre Favorite Golf Course: Nice walk ruined by holes | Monday July 16, 2012 11:51 PM Thanks for the info, ring. Is there a way I can look at previous individual rounds? I see on the main score tracker page the rounds and the score, but they're not clickable. I was wondering if it was possible to see the detailed stats I entered. I'm sure it's staring me right in the face, and is sitting next to the idiot button. Thanks! |
