So after watching the tournament last weekend I think I'm going to take the plunge and plan a trip to Pebble. Anyone suggest the best time to go and when not to go?

When the bank that issued you your VISA card calls and tells you to knock it off.... don't go....
Weather is pretty unpredictable so if you don't mind that, I would take advantage of their 2 night / 2 round package. Get one more person to join you and I believe its $1900 per person for 2 nights at Spanish Bay and round at Spy Glass and round at Pebble. If not staying on the property, they don't give you preferential tee time so I would pick Summer days where you'll have more time to finish your round as you'll probably won't be able to get out until afternoon. If you want to take a cart but is not staying on the property, they'll charge you $35 cart fee (free if staying on property). Don't forget about caddy tip and fees. Hit extra half club to club more on all shots hitting towards the ocean. If fog rolls in, ball goes no where. Have a great time.

Sign up for their email thing. You will get deals sent to you. I went during December and it was fine. I didn't use a caddy or cart for any round. Most people walk everything. You need to stay at their resort for advanced tee times and to play Pebble. You can play Spy & Spanish without staying there, but for standard rates. Expensive, but after time you will remember the experience much more than the cost.
Go anytime Check weather trends and course maintenance, but I am sure any day is a great day to play.

I agree with the X-man, late August might be best weather wise but you never know up there. My suggestion is to do your best to get 3 buddies to join you ... that way you won't get stuck with someone who really can't golf but has 'Play Pebble Beach' on their bucket list. It happend to me the last couple times up there and I won't do it again. As X suggests, if you can afford it, stay at the Inn at Spanish Bay ... worth it for sure.

To be clear, I'm talking about guys who can't hit a ball in the air ... can't hit far enough to even reach the fairway ... or hit a lousy shot and then drop another ball, not say anything, then zip it past my ear ... or, after 5 attempts, THROWS the ball out of a bunker. Does not make for a fun time. I'm sure Paisano does not fall into any of the above categories

we booked our Pebble trip in Feb a few years ago....but was rained out. Resched to March and had foggy mornings that delayed tee off half an hour.
here's summary of what we learned from our Pebble Beach trip:
1. Pebble beach will offer discount during the 'winter' months - i've seen rates drop to around $385 (vs $495)
The cons is weather can be unpredictable.... the good news is they are pretty good about cancellation for rain/ weather.
2. Best time to go would be spring/summer months - since it is coastline weather, it does not get hot with the ocean breeze - which also means.... it gets super busy and rates are not discounted.
3. They will offer replay rates (for Spyglass and Spanish Inn) - so if u play one course in the morning and have the energy - you can play one of the other courses at a relatively 'cheaper' rate.
at any rate, i think u will enjoy playing the courses there no matter when you play it...
i'm sure it will be well worth it!
Have a great time.

Yeah I've see the emails but wanted to see when the best times to go there. I'll probably be heading up with the wife so I'll just be flying solo and I'll be lugging around some baggage if you know what i mean.
