I'm headed to Kauai for 7 days. Any recommendations (good or bad) on golf courses? Any good discount tee time booking sites? Thanks for your input!

Courses are listed on this site, but pretty sparse on up to date reviews. In absence of those. I'd say read the old ones and do your home work with another search on-line and make sure you call the course before booking to confirm your most important criteria.

Haven't played Kauai island but my Maui experience has been you'll pay for the big name or super condition courses. A nice surprise a few years back was going out with our wife's and playing the muni. Ran into locals and had a great time in a afternoon shower. Fun laid back vacation round.

Check with your concierge where your staying they can sometimes find a deal for you or give you the inside track. My brother-in-law who had Hawaii D/L was able to pay a lot less as a local than me as a tourist most courses. just fyi not helpful to you so much.

Have a blast. Aloha

Please post a review(s) of your golf experience

Poipu Bay Golf Course. It's been many years since, but that is an excellent course- views of the ocean in the last few holes.

There's a friendly wave beach nearby (Poipu beach) where the family and little ones can enjoy and the little town is nearby... you may see a shrimp food truck on your way- don't miss it.

There is a discount card where you can play Poipu Bay, Ocean Course at Hokuala, and Princeville Makai for a discount. All 3 are over $200 each. I think the card is for $529 or something. they told me you can get the card at any of the 3 courses.
There's also a Costco voucher for Puikea for $100 for 2 players i think.

The 2 I recommend are Kukuiolono, which is a long 9 hole you play from 2 sets of tees and the locals play in bare feet. The 2nd is wailua which is a municipal right on the beach. At the time iI went ,it was 45 bucks on the weekday. As you can see , I was playing the affordable spots but very nice conditions

I second the above suggestion at Wailua muni. Used to be a US Am venue. Fun course. It's as good as any $200 course you'll find in the island.

Played Kukuiolono yesterday and Wailua today. Great recommendations! Thank you! I participated in a putting contest at Poipu Bay. I’m still debating whether I want to spend the $200+ to play it

Poipu is nice- I wouldn't pay $200
Teetimes Hawaii got me on there for around $65

Are you staying near Princeville- north side of island?
There's two courses in Princeville. One is called Prince (expensive but good), the other is Princeville Makai Golf Course. The Princeville Makai has 27 holes and is much reasonable and very fun to play with a good challenges and some views- it winds through the residential area. I would recommend it.

I think this course charged me around $65 also... it's been a while.

I checked all the tee time websites and they don’t seem to discount the higher end courses. I’m staying in Poipu, so I will probably try one of the courses nearby. Poipu Bay has a back nine (ocean holes) price of $120. I might do that or Puakia
