Member Since: June 5, 2009 Favorite Golfer: Phil, Bubba, Freddie Favorite Golf Course: Emerald Canyon | Sunday July 15, 2012 12:51 PM I'm speaking for myself here, but I'm sure others feel the same way. I know there's no "template" for golf course reviews on GK, and there probably shouldn't be...but if you are going to post a review, please REVIEW THE COURSE CONDITIONS! If you just want to complain about your day on the course, do it in the forums. Worthless reviews are no help to anyone. If you must complain, maybe add a little value with it...possibly like so: "There were a bunch of slow, inconsiderate, loud, ball-mark-leaving, bunker-destroying, drunken idiots that made our 7+ hour round unbearable, we were stuck behind them on fairways that were very uniform, with few bare spots and nice lies throughout". LOL. Thank you very little, EVIL - Seems this thread has become more than just about Terrible Reviews - I've gone ahead and added more to the title as an Edit - JohnnyGK [[Edited by JohnnyGK on Monday July 23, 2012 4:43 PM]] |

Additionally, I don't personally care to know about how many times the cart girl came by, how good the hot dog was at the turn, or whether it was windy that day. Those things are OK, but must be secondary to course conditions. |

Thank You for making this post! - I totally agree. If you're going to post a review, please, give us some details about the Playing Conditions. Especially the greens and fairways. Also, please don't exaggerate golf course review rants, everyone can see right through them and it makes that golf course review as well as others you've posted have less credibility. Member Since: June 5, 2009 Favorite Golfer: Phil, Bubba, Freddie Favorite Golf Course: Emerald Canyon | Monday July 16, 2012 1:44 PM I'm so glad my feelings on this issue are not mine alone, thanks guys...I was not working for a few years and got to enjoy golf on an almost daily basis; but since I've rejoined the workforce I've been knocked down to weekend warrior status. Due to this, the GK reviews are more important to me than ever. All I want is the truth......and a hot dog ...and a cart girl |

And I have no trouble bringing up previous posts from our FAQ to shed light to the fact we do take our job here at GK seriously. Click HERE for what we expect from a GK reviewer reviewing a golf course. and for the record. I like hot dogs and I like cart girls. A photo of each would be greatly appreciated. But I would request more .... appropriate remarks about golf course conditions are the most important. [[Edited by ringworld on Monday July 16, 2012 6:49 PM]] Work Hard. Member Since: October 22, 2010 Favorite Golfer: "The Big Easy" Favorite Golf Course: Wild Wings | Thursday July 19, 2012 8:41 AM I personally don't mind someone having a "little" fun with the reviews. I can only read " the course was flat and green, good fairway, +pace of play" so much and then I don't care any more. This mostly applies to the more heavily traffic golf courses. I can see giving a more strait up review to a course that gets a review only once a year or two. I think this website is lucky to have me. I mean having someone who can describe the condition of the deep rough and how healthy the trees are next to the out of bounds marker. I need to hear reviews about where my ball is going to be, I could really care less about the fairway. |

Member Since: December 9, 2008 Favorite Golfer: Padraig Harrington Favorite Golf Course: Kapalua Plantation | Friday July 20, 2012 8:19 AM i concur with konaexpress. course condition review can be done in one sentence and it'll be dry and boring. if all the reviews are like that then how are we suppose to find out if the course has a hot cart girl.there's going to be good, bad, funny, wordy, stupid, irrelevant, informative... reviews and the good part is that you don't have to read everything. if i think it's bad, i usually have hard time finish reading the entire thing anyways. and just because i think it's bad doesn't mean it's a bad review for everyone. if it's all about course condition, may be the name should be changed to Golf Course "Condition" Reviews. |
