played wed 5/6, 8:40 tee time, leisurely 4:10 hr round. course been open a week; special deal for locals, and I was able jump in on that. rained most of the day before, expecting the worst... blown away by the course conditions. greens firm and true, running a fast 11. fairways in great shape. 6 holes were cart path only, due to being soggy... but the fairways on those holes were very playable. mild wind, nice brisk sunny day. Felt blessed to play here today.

Round 2 of our four day golf trip. 50 degrees with afternoon thunderstorms which was frustrating because this time of year it's normally 75 degrees and clear. Staggering $350 green fee during peak season. They had just recently lightly top dressed the greens but that sure didn't affect the speed as they were rolling at 12. Hard to judge uphill or downhill because they were both fast. Your think everything would break away from Heavenly Valley toward the lake but definitely not the case. A very good layout but not quite as spectacular as what you see on TV. Lush tee boxes and fairways. Did get an afternoon thunderstorm that lasted about 30 minutes as we were playing #16. Carts notify us with a message to return to clubhouse when lightening was in area, however halfway back the message said it was ok to return to course just before a lightning bolt hit a tree about 300 yards from us so not sure how real time the notification system is. POP was about 5 hours not including the delay. We got stuck behind a slow foursome that the marshal had to warn 3 times before he made them skip a hole. I think you are paying a premium green fee based upon it's reputation. Ok for one time play but not consistently IMO unless you are a high roller who gets comped. Due to it's location near the casinos it gets a lot of play. Very nice range to warm up on.

Played Sunday 7/23, 9am shotgun, nice sunny warm day. Winds 1/2 - 1 club. I struggled with the altitude adjustment. Most of the time I didn't give the altitude enough respect as I tried to adjust for the wind... other times, I was short, and sometimes it was perfect. Greens are pure... fast... about a 12 downhill, 10 uphill. I couldn't figure out if the grain was affecting it, so I just adjusted speed for up and down hill and it worked out. Very pretty course right on the shore... I rank it #2 public, under incline.... Edgewood is prettier and has more wow factor, but Incline is the better, more interesting course, IMO. And half the price. However, I am looking forward to my next opportunity to play here, as it's a fun time.

Course being prepped for the celebrity / athlete tournament. Course in BEAUTIFUL shape. Course Marshall’s are fantastic and enjoyed the views. Greens are fast. Play for the middle. Elevation is only a small factor for equations of distance. About a 4% difference. Difficulty is not being distracted by the views.

I wouldn't pay rack rate here.. not when incline village is cheaper and close by. But it really is a nice course with fun holes... lots of geese though. And geese poop. That was a downer. For an elite course, you'd think they'd be more proactive about decreasing their presence. Heck, my home course does a great job of chasing and cleaning. But geese aside, I'd love any opportunity to play here, if the price was right. (rack rate is not right imo)

Absolutely loved this golf course. Played here 6/29 with a 9:10 tee time - clear skies, high of 84 degrees. Paired with a father son trio from the midwest. Course was in fantastic shape as maintenance prepared for the American Century Golf Championship the following weekend. Golf ball dances off the club when hit flush due to the elevation. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Greens were fast and firm. Sand was soft and fluffy. I'd play here everyday if I lived in Tahoe.

Played 6/28, 8am shotgun, as part of a 4 day golf trip. My personal ranking of the 4 I played: Incline Village Championship Course, Old Greenwood, Edgewood, Gray's Crossing. Though all 4 are really great and fun. This was definitely the best manicured course of the bunch. Not surprising, as the celebrity tourney is coming in 2 weeks. Grandstands being built all over. On the one hand, it adds to the allure of a high profile course. But on the other hand, they block some great views of the lake, which is what the green fee is paying for. Today, the sun was in and out. The wind was there all day. Again, I struggled with club selection, with the elevation (less than a club), the wind, and the greens holding very few shots, it made for a tough day. The greenside rough was pretty rough... even with balls that sat up, the rough would grab the club, so you had make solid swings, which is tough on slick greens. The course is in fantastic shape. Some really interesting holes that make you think. Had a fun time. But put this course anywhere else in the state, you'd have a tough time commanding the $300 rack rate. I would like to play again, but not for $300. Maybe I'll make some connections.
