Our foursome played here last Sunday at 9:30am. We hadn't played here in awhile but we knew what we were getting; a muni that's in ok shape for the money. But wow, were we surprised! It was in horrible shape! I walked while my buddies rode but sometimes I hitched when we fell behind. There were so many deep, deep holes and ditches on the fairways and the rough that I almost had a hernia from one of the hidden holes while traversing on the rough! There were hundreds of squirrels on some holes and they were having a blast darting in and out of their burrows. Balls literally flew in the air hitting bumps and marks while putting on some of the greens. Had to hit balls lying on mounds of dirt dug up by rodents. The fairways were pretty much a mixed salad of dandelions, weeds and who knows what. We knew we weren't playing TPC Anywhere but we never played under these conditions here. It turns out the south course is in the process of being taken over by someone who is turning it into a links style course so in the meanwhile, minimum work is the order of the day. North course as we were told, is in good shape. Man! Bay Area muni courses are getting beat up this year! Saw cart girl several times in the distance but never got nearby.
