Played 7/13 and have to report that conditions here right now are not up to "par". Customer service and facility are great. However the grass on the course and in particular the greens are not at pristine levels.
Second round of the day teeing off after lunch on the patio. (food service excellent). The Truckeee airport east across route 267 was having an airshow or a dress rehearsal practice with various planes doing stunts and smoke shows. This continued through the front 9 and was entertaining to watch between waiting for the group in front to play out each hole. Being fair were two-some and a busy day of 4-somes in front of us so expected to be at a pace of slowness.
The winter was not kind to the greens patching bumpy and three temporary greens and a couple tee boxes. Shortened the course yardage considerably. The starter did warn of this and that it would take some time for the greens to fully recover.
we played a GolfMoose special rate and preferred playing golf than travelling to South Lake Tahoe (Edgewood CC) to watch the celebrity tournament. Weather was hot for Truckee temps in the mid 80's and very sunny. Had fun.
right now it's not tip top conditions but still fun.

Played 8/17 7:20 first out. Cool and crisp 47 degrees. Course in good/great shape most everywhere. The front 9 (newer) goes out along the Martis Valley with the Truckee airport to the east and ski area to the west. Sun came up quickly and warmed up and dried out the dew on the fairways. Rough not to deep but was enough to make fairways desirable location. Back 9 (older) is more target golf up through the trees towards the ski area. Course is over 60 years old.

Greens excellent shape as most fairways. Summer conditions with maybe a touch too much water in areas that don't drain away well. Not a complaint just keeping fairways nice and green.

Played the recommended tees for our handicap and had a great morning. Very playable the staff was great. One item of note was signs in parking lot and entry to course stating alcohol policy strictly enforced. No beverage cart out for the back 9 but I was offered a bloody mary at the bar just after 7am.

A lot of choices for golf in Truckee area this one is nice and priced in line with what you get and the quality of the competition in Tahoe. Meaning you can pay more and get more. Depends on the budget. Fun course great weather.

This was our first round this morning. We had a 7:30 tee time, which is first off as they build in a slight frost delay still this time of year. The staff here was fantastic and made sure we got off first and around fast. The weather forecast was bleak all day today and it rained on us a little bit, but not bad at all and it freed everything up for us on all the courses we played. We used a GolfMoose deal ($99 for 2 players) along with a $25 GK prize gift card to make it a great deal. The course was in decent condition as it rounds into summer form. Playing better than it looked with kind of a dappled brown/green spongy grass throughout. Tee boxes good. Fairways generally provided nice fluffy lies with some mushy sections thanks to the rain. Rough not super deep, but the grass is tangly and the ball can easily sit down to make for a tough recovery. Bunkers good. Greens spongy, but still kind of playing firm with big bounces and roll-outs, rolling fairly well at medium speeds. The gloomy skies and dappled colors didn't really showcase the course's best visual presentation, but the playability was good and the layout is enjoyable. The front nine is more out in a fairly open meadow section to get you warmed up before you make the turn and into the mountain side of the course with all the trees and hills to provide a dramatic setting. Not quite top tier in this region, but a very good second-tier option and a nice value play compared to some other resort options.

In Tahoe on Vacation, and Played Squaw Creek on Tuesday, 8/25/17 and Northstar on Thursday 8/27/17. Squaw Creek, (Better known as Squaw Swamp) was not worth the time frustrating, difficult, & poorly maintained. Northstar was a pleasant comparison. Customer service was terrific, and the course, while difficult - especially the back nine - was enjoyable for the high handicap senior. I'd definitely come back.

Course was diffinet a tale of 2 nines. The front plays in a open valley. Fairways technically mostly green, but very dry and brown looking. Greens not in very good shape. Very bumpy and inconsistent on speed. Some very fast and others Not .
Back nine in the trees and lush. Greens in much better shape, but still on the bouncy side. The back can easily be played and probably should be played with the driver left in the bag.
Over all in decent to fair shape and fun to play

Not real green but soft with plenty of roll Rough in good shape and not too difficult. @ 2" and fairly consistant. T and traps in good shape Greens.... well.. not all that great. Receptive and green, but very bumpy and slow. Putts seldom stayed on line and very difficult to convince your self to hit them hard enough. Even down hill. BTW.. The 6 rating is low in my opinion. I'd give it a 7 to 7.5 Course layout is fun. Nice mix of open meadow like front and tight tree line back nine. Course is not very long and with the mountain elevation blues play like typical whites. All though with the tight back nine there is little need for a driver from whites.

Played a morning round on 10/9/12. End of Season for the Truckee area courses. Northstar will be closing for the season at the end of the week. Overall, course was in very good shape. Greens were firm and rolled true. Fairways had some aeration holes, but otherwise were in good shape.

Played 7-27-11. teed off at 8:45 finished at noon. fairways were wet in the morning but dried up and were lush all day. tee boxes were pretty nice. The front nine played totally different than the back. Front is open with few trees, and greens were nice and smooth. Back nine is totally in the forest and played much tougher. The back nine greens were bumpy and medium pace. Compared to the front 9, definitely not as nice but did NOT detract from my round. Not a driver golf course, several long irons and 3 woods of the tee. scored an 80 but course knowledge and yardage book could have saved me at least 4 strokes. very enjoyable course with tight fairways and tough greens. keep it in the fairway and birdies can be made.
