Really enjoy our day here during our annual fishing trip. This is a fun course and with all the fall colors it's very scenic.
Conditions were not as good as they have been in the past but still in good shape.
fairways were really good to great. Very green and lush. Really fun to hit off.
rough a mixed bag of thick and thin and lots of trees.
Greens were the week spot. Most had dead sick /spots that made for some occasional difficult putts.
they were very receptive and ran about medium pace.
still one of my favorite course to play.

Played with dad Wednesday 10:10 in leisurely 4 hrs while visiting parents. Elevation allowed a little more distance though shots needed to be planned to avoid risks, mainly trees or sloped terrain. Couldn't have been any greener and there were a few wet areas in various locations including one green we both plugged. Greens medium speed recovering from recent verticut but rolled smooth maybe took away some of the undulation influence. Rough mostly an inch longer than carpet fairways but sticky. Tees all smooth & flat with par 3's clean lots of area for rotating boxes there. Very fun course with great views at distance or near within forest and hilly terrain. Not sure if another course has this kind of scenery throughout all 18. Uncrowded during round but we did hear a few tree knocks! Would love to play again for another try at missed opportunities on early holes before working out of the intimidation factor which never bothered dad. Clubhouse, putting green, smaller grass range, food and after round lounge nice with friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this course.

Visited my old favorite on the way up north on Friday. I got a smokin' hot deal on GN for $15 and you can't beat that. 1:30 tee time, but I got there much earlier and had no problem heading right out to the first tee around 12:15 to join up with another single. It didn't take us too long to catch the groups ahead. Though the course wasn't packed, there were still more people out there than I expected and we got caught behind a few slower groups. Total pace around 4:20 not bad at all. I've just never played more than a three-hour round here, so it seemed longer!

The course conditions were good overall. Tee boxes good. Fairways and rough had a lot of good lush coverage. Just a bit shaggy for my tastes. The rough isn't always the most level ground, so it's kind of lumpy and bumpy when you are off fairways and can be punishing with plenty of thick damp grass on top of iffy terrain. The greens were soft and rolling a medium speeds. I was only in one bunker and it had good sand.

It was interesting playing this course this time of year because I've only ever played here in the summer when things are usually very firm and fast. With softer and fluffier conditions, the course probably plays more like it should as a short target layout without much room for error. It was just different than I'm used to. The course seems to be a little rougher around the edges each time I visit (it's been a few years), but it's still a fun and scenic track. If you keep the ball in play and know what to do on certain holes, you can score well here. If you are off by just a little, you will have a long day.

They were very receptive, smooth and ran at a fun pace a couple notches above medium. For as soft as they where, it was great to see hardly any unrepaired ball marks.
traps looked firm but consistent?
Course was in overall good to fantastic shape.

This is one of those courses that you should add to you're "Would like to play list"
For all of you Nor/Cal GKers. Plan a trip with your wife or gf in the fall. A fantastic weekend getaway that most women would love!!

Absolutely beautiful course with the trees turning color all around. Fairway's were fantastic with only some soggy spots in low areas. It had just rained for 3 day's. Greens were great. soft with decent roll. Tees in good shape. I didn't find any bunkers but, they looked a little compact.

One of my favorite courses and I so look forward every year to playing here in our annual fall fishing trip.

Played this morning. POP no problem as was first out. Staff here is superb. Rod Sims is head golf professional and many of you may remember him from his many years at Dry Creek in Galt (better make a trip up and say hello). Rod and I are also college classmates. As previous reviews (rudyclub in 12; sngernz in 12; sixpez in 12) mountain golf at its finest. Hard to believe there are only 3 previous reviews, given how nice this course is?. Cannot beat the views and the course is in top condition. Was told after my round that they had punched greens last week???? That surprised me because I never saw any indication of aeration and the greens (though wet with dew)) held shots and putted fast and even faster on the back 9 after drying out and being cleaned. Wish we had that type of soil in S CA. Fairways were clean and provided excellent roll and lies. Never had a bad tee box. Sand traps excellent. Greens are not overly large like some courses but large enough with undulations and breaks to test your putting skills. Make sure if you come to play, get a course guide from Rod (he wrote the descriptions) and read about each hole and it will be of great benefit. Just a wonderful place to play golf. Course is tight/narrow so beware those that slice (OK its a fade). Straight hitters are rewarded on this course. Distance is not always an asset (except on the par 5's which are reachable in two) and the par 3's are all great holes. If you are looking for a golf destination, or traveling up I 5 to OR/WA you should come and play here. You will be very glad you did. Rates are excellent for this course. BTW: would you believe the monthly membership is $135 for all you can play golf? WOW. Thanks for those who came before me and wrote those great reviews, as it helped me make my decision to play here. And I also got to reunite with an old friend.

Played 10/20. This is one of my favorite courses. Short but very narrow and very fun to play. Especially once you learn it a little more. The fairways where in absolutely fantastic shape. The greens were soft and stuck like Velcro, but putted pretty quickly. Which was great to see. In past years the mold problem on them cause balls to bounce like a trampoline. A couple of T box's where a little torn up, but most were good. Fall in Mt. Shasta area is beautiful. The hardwoods were just starting to turn color. In another 1-2 weeks they will be in full fall color show. Not many better couples getaway's destinations.

I took the advise from sixpezand did a stay and play at Mt Shasta on the first leg of a 3 week road trip ... Played on 6/9/12. Spectacular views of Shasta and the tall pine trees may distract from the task at hand which is to hit the ball straight on this very tight but short mountain course, and I mean tight. Also, elevation will force you to club down often and expect to hit the longest drives of your life. Greens were a bit grainy cuz they planned to punch the next day but it looks like they could get pretty quick if cut short in the summer. Resort has nice clubhouse afterward to eat and enjoy the views along with lodging across the road near the lake which were clean and roomy. Highly recommended if traveling up north along the 5.
