So, unlike a lot of folks, I LOVE THIS COURSE. As challenging and difficult as any course out there. (Check out the ratings!)

This is sort of an update to the last time I played here. We were there last week when they were plugging the white tee boxes, so I played half the course from the blues and half from the greens.

My single gripe on this course is that the golfers seem to have forgotten how to fix ball marks. As immaculate at this course is (and I challenge anyone to find one that is better) there seems to be a total disregard for manners and normal golf behavior.

We were zipping along (and this course is usually really quick even with its length and difficulty) and around the 14th things bogged down because of a couple REALLY REALLY slow foursomes. One guy [known to be particularly slow] waited until a guy hit to even get his club. Then he would take his practice swings and then hit his ball.

Well, aggravations aside, it is still a great track and when you get to play at a discounted rate, even better!

The greens were particularly tricky. Slow and soft early and then REALLY REALLY fast later in the round. Smooth and green, no bare spots at all, but I fixed about 10 ball marks per green. = (

Now I know why we only play this course once per year. Always a good golf lesson in target golf. Lots of water has been poured on to the course making it very lush. Off the fairways and greens it is extremely dry and hard. Greens are recovering from coring a month ago and in excellent shape, but they are keeping them a bit longer and running slower due to the bent grass. Fairways are in great shape due to the watering with the rough around 2 inches and thick. Some new tee boxes exist and the course has been modified somewhat due to the development surrounding the property. There were a few tee boxes that need attention and leveling. Bunkers were 50/50 with some having good sand and some very shy of sand. The layout is what hurts my game the most, but it is worth the fee for the challenge. Good drinks cart attendance and a comfortable pace, with nice marshallers and staff make the return inevitable.
Note that the course website scorecard is currently out of date; it has excellent playing tips and photos.

This is a shot makers golf course. Nice and quiet. Well kept and a ton of fun. Good Job to the staff!

The layout is what kills this course. The holes are sloped so much that there is often, way too often, only half or less of a fairway to hit to and stay out of trouble. If the layout was better, or they reworked about half the holes, it would be a GREAT course. But as it stands now, it's an unfair test that isn't any fun for anyone that is trying to shoot a decent score but can't hit a high draw with a long iron or fairway wood. More fun elsewhere for less money.

This is an A-Game course - target golf on the most amazing grass you will step foot on. Quites simply there is nothing you can say bad about the conditions, the people, the golf shop, etc. The course is well do c&me nted as being TOUGH, and for good reason. Built on the sides of several canyons, the design carved out a fantastic course from what would have been waste. There are few (if any) flat lies on many holes and you have to bring out the long drives to make par on some of the holes. Others can be quite short, but present challenges with strategic uses of bunkers, forced carries, closed approaches, etc.

Due to the pretty steep price and difficulty, this course is not very busy on weekdays at all. I have played the entire 18 with an 8 year old in tow in about two hours. Never had to wait for a sole. AND shot a good score, so was double happy!

Ammenities include bag drop, great food (no on course beverage cart though), very good staff, driving range, putting green(s), etc. The driving range is another great place. Buy a range card for $100, and get $150 worth of balls.

All that rain we had last week didn't effect this golf course. The drainage is heaps better.

Played here once, probably won't make the drive to play again. I'll start with the good. Customer service, conditioning, pace of play was all very good here when I played. The bad: layout is quirky, waaay too many blind shots from the tips. It's like playing target golf w/out being able to see any targets. Also didn't see a halfway house or beverage cart for something to drink, so bring water with you when you play. I'm only staying away because of the layout.

Well, well well, where do I start? First off, The Bridges golf course is fantastic as far as condition. Fabulous all around. Greenskeeper should get a raise. Greens are sweet, rough, tees everything is top-notch. Bunkers are also very, very nice too.

Now, as far as the layout goes, I forgot to put my nuclear bomb in my bag because if I had packed it, I would have left it on the 18th green and let it explode. This course is a complete joke. I've played The Ranch in San Jose, and this place makes the Ranch look like Augusta National. I've played 6 other Johnny Miller courses and this course is by far his worst. Impossible to navigate, incredibly difficult to manuever your ball around this place, and there's not a single tree out here. I know, I sound like sour grapes. But this is what happens when you play a course from the tips and the wind is up 20-30 mph. However, if there was no wind at all and I played from the red tees, my feelings would still be the same. There are nicer courses around in the area, come to think of it, EVERY other course in the area is nicer than this place, yet condition-wise, I'll have to admit it was in tip-top shape.

Someday, I will get my revenge. You won this time The Bridges. But I will come back and kick your a**..prin bottle up and down the block.

What a great day...they have been really putting some money into this course. Best greens in the area, best fairways in the area. It is a tough course but worth the challenge!

This course feels squeezed into an area where it really doesn't belong. Fairways are way too tight, only a dead straight tee will work, finding the line and distance of a lot of shots requires local knowledge, approaches that run thru greens disappear in heavy clump grass. This course has everything that one tries to avoid in a golf course, it's very tough for the wrong reasons. I felt like putting my clubs away after playing here, exactly the opposite feeling that a golfer is after. The course doesn't help you find your game, it makes you feel that you don't have a game. Johnny Miller courses can do that to you, his courses reflect his personality perhaps but given the site he had to work with, I'm not sure there was much he could have done differently.

Played in scramble today nice course excellent greens except for some ball mark on greens. Could be from all the hacks in tourney, Shot gun start. If not in the right spot on green you could be looking at a big number. Nice variety of par threes. froom 120 to 200+ yards. Fairways a little tight but playable, may need to hit irons, get yardage book. Would recommend great twilight rate.

This course is in great shape. It is a more difficult course; target golf if you will. Just keep it in the fairway, I have lost many balls that I thought I new exactly where there were. You can't beat the $30 with cart twighlight rate; even on weekends!

Played 6/10. The course is in excellent shape. The ninth hole, a previously challenging dogleg left par 4, was recently shortened from 440 yards to 340 yards. This was done due to players pelting an adjacent house trying to cut the corner of the dogleg. However, the green is probably drivable now - if you cut the corner.

This was the best course I have played in years...the reputation The Bridges once had is not true anymore. They really put some money into the course and it shows, great fairways and greens (the best). Its still a challenge but worth every penny.

WOW...They really fixed this place up! Just got done playing, we had a 1/2 of rain the day before and it was great. The fairways are just plush ryegrass the greens are the best I ever played. Great job to the grass cutters they really turned this place around.

What a waste. The Bridges has lost all its fairways and is still charging premium prices. It is tough enough at the best of times, but you could hit the middle of the fairway and have an unplayable lie. I've seen far better conditions at munis than this.

I had a great time it The Bridges. Played two rounds on 4/22. First round as a 2 sum and played in about 3 hrs., second round 4 sum and played a little over 4 hrs. The course is in vary good shape and worth the drive from SF. Greens fast and smooth, fairways in good shape (cart path only) and the rough was a little patchy. Staff got me right out in the morning (walk up) and right back out for the second round (only $25.00 replay).

This course is too tricked up for me. good shot are not always rewarded and marginal shots can lead to disaster. It is a middle to high handicapper's nightmare. For the price the conditions did not meet expectations. I don't think I will be returning for a round anytime soon.

Played the course on 1/7/06. The fairways are a virtual swamp after the recent rains. It is my opinion that the course should have been closed.

I recently played here by myself.,Middle of the week with nobody near me. This course is one of my favorites....Johnny Miller designed and tough. Slope is rather high..but a real good challenge for anyone who likes to think, especially on the tees.
They keep the whole course in great shape, and if you get the chance, play in the spring when the foliage is out, its really a contrast in colors. Nice club house and food is good. Of course, I played in 3 hrs by myself, but its usually about 4 1/2 hrs normally. The capper was I played it for 45$ internet special, normally on weekends your looking at 75$ a round. Thats a little too much for me. But a good challenge that will make you come back.

Hadn't played here in two years. Took advantage of e-mailed coupon to get fee to $55. Course was in great shape, although unforgiving as always to any wayward shot. Lots of rabbits on 16. Construction on one par 5 detracted a little. Twilight rate is actually $55 with cart.

This is a fantastic course that you could play every day and not get tired of it. I LOVE IT even though it kicks my ass more than not. The more you play The Bridges the more you,ll like it. It,s an unforgiving S.O.B. that demands proper placement of all tee and aproach shots. This is one of the toughest courses you,ll play anywhere. 15 handicaps and up will take a severe beating, bring plenty of ammo, better yet stay home.
