Got off as a single but unfortunately I was behind many 4somes but still played in a little less than 4 hrs. Guys in the pro shop were great, the starter on the other hand was a little rude. I played from the tips and I don't think this course is all that difficult as long as you're putting the ball in play. I think the holes offer some interesting choices off the tee. I really liked the speed of the greens, they were fast and the putts rolled true. People do need to repair their ball marks though. The tee boxes for the black were a little of a let down. Seemed to have a little more sand than I was expecting. It also seemed like the fairways were a little wet but overall in good condition. The upsetting part of the round was getting to the 16th tee and seeing them aerifying the fairway, I mean 3/4th of the fairway was littered with the plugs. The other single I played with played here a couple of times before and said this was probably not the best conditions he has seen it in, probably just due to the wear and tear of the summer. I really liked the layout of this course, every hole seems to be by itself and there doesn't seem to be many houses on top of the course.

Saddle Creek is a great test of your golfing prowess. Played today on the back half of the "Bump Back" promotion that "The Creeks" (Saddle & Greenhorn) combined to promote...played Greenhorn last month. The staff at Saddle are very courteous and strive to make your golf experience the best you can have. The practice facility is fantastic. The greens look a bit funny with multiple types of grass there, but the roll is pretty true. They were hard today...something a few squirts of water would take care of. Fairways were lush, sand a bit wet under the top layer, but the tee boxes were first-rate. This is a great course so if you can get there, do yourself a favor and play it. Even better if you can do the "Stay-and-Play". Now...if they'll just bring back that golf & dinner special they ran a couple of years ago!

Very nice as always. Starter very friendly course in excellent shape for early spring, fairways and greens will be plush in about two weeks, greens already excellent. This is a must play in N.C.

Found Saddle Creek resort on a Google seach while planning a road trip up north and gave it a chance. First, the course: I'd compare it to Strawberry Farms ... well maintained, challenging (4 tee boxes to choose from), and the greens were slick. Must be gorgeous in the spring. Move it to the OC and you'd be paying a buck and a half on the weekend (sic). You will not be disappointed, a promise.

Now the resort: they have unattached 'bungalows' along the first fairway that are fairly new and well appointed, priced at $230+/day. Full kitchen, living room, the whole nine yards (just put a plasma in there and it's better than home). Supreme service, great restaurant, practice facility, separate spa (weight machines, pool, tennis, etc.). I stayed 3 days and never left ... did I mention unlimited golf (47 holes one day)? Sweet deal ... good to take a golfing babe or buddies. I'll be back for sure.

Love this course. The greens are fast, but very fair. They roll very true. Great selection of holes with varying difficulty. A can't miss course.

Played Saddle Creek yesterday and the course is in very good shape with few brown fairway areas and few ball marks on the greens...but it looks like the cup changes have gotten a little away as you can count about the past 15 changes on any green...however, it's not a problem for putting. Very courteous staff...brought our cart right the car, loaded up our sticks for us and wished us a good round. We had a special for a steak dinner and golf for $59...too bad it ends today...it was excellent. Their driving range should be ready next month but the practice green/traps are excellent for working on your game. Get there if you can...it's worth the trip.

An excellent course...friendly & courteous staff, great layout. It's easy to see why it gets a 4 1/2 star rating. The greens were a little bumpy today, probably due to the heat wave the past few weeks as it looked like previous hole locations were slow to grow back. Ball marks were never a problem...at most, you're lucky to find a small dent to repair even on the highest approach shots. Fairways were very good as were the tee boxes. Lots of house building on the back side, but again, not a problem. A course I'll return to as often as possible.

Terrific layout. Lots memorable holes.
They are a bit snooty for being in the middle of nowhere, but it is first class.

Play Saddle & Greenhorn for two excellent (and totally different) rounds. You won't be sorry.
