Last review had the greens coming up by June. One half of the course has different grass than creeping bent/tif. Those are kept watered and painted. They are soft and hold but do not putt as nicely as the bent which is dryer and more true.
The challenges of this short course come in the vertical changes and some small greens. Some outstanding views on the West course and a fun challenge. Fairways are dry and run far. A fair test. Good marshalling keeps up a brisk pace. Today with winds SW 20mph, club selection is tough. the nice staff make it worth the green fee, and with the East course as well, you can do easily 36 holes with lots of time to spare. The practice facility is very adequate. Good food and beverage both courses.

Some greens maintenance underway; should be good by June.
Fun layout and good play pace when choosing your time of day.

Overall the course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. The West course was redone several years ago, and it has more character than the East. If you play during twighlight and pay the reduced rate, it is a good value.

A good value for a municipal golf course. The newer sister course - East - also holds many charms.

I had the oppurtunity to play this course last year. As you know, during the winter the rain is nonstop sometimes, so the course was soggy, can't blame that on the course. Great layout, the homes are away from the course which can ease the tensions of an average golfer. Service was good too, very friendly. When it rains for a full day in the winter and you play the next day, remember to tighten up the shoes, the soggy ground will try to take them off. Also the ball will bury itself in the fairway grass whenit is really wet, which is pretty much the case in SF in the winter.
