played 8/12. great pace for harding, for some reason no groups ahead of us off the tee (0730 start). course is in ok shape, though greens are still healing in. no real evidence of punch marks but still very sandy and slow. as usual, I'm impressed by the back 9, really great holes. too bad conditioning is a B at best most times. Not the greatest value ($100 walking for norcal resident).

A lovely day for golf at Harding Park today 5-5. Pace was so-so, course was full but still enjoyable conditions. Greens are firm and smooth, rough is cut low but still penal. The bunkers are in good shape and the tees and fairways are lush and firm. Good roll on the drive and tough to stop on the greens. TPC conditioning skill is evident all around the course. Worth the $48 resident rate, almost worth the Bay Area res rate. Birdied the new 13 for the first time!

Beautiful day for golf at Harding Park, now a TPC golf course which makes all the difference in the world. Today, the staff was busy sanding the fairways with specially-built Toro's that spread the sand and rakes it in evenly much like the screen they use for a baseball infield. The greens are very true and quick but you can still hold the greens. Pace was a little over 4 hours with a foursome on every hole. Rough was cut so it was relatively easy compared to other times I've played here. Most of the bunkers were well-kept but I heard of one having some pebbles and the 11th hole, par 3 had a very fluffy bunker. Great course to walk (lousy for buggies since cartpath only) and great layout with white tees plenty long for the average hacker. Restaurant has a great view of the 18th fairway and lake, food and beverage is good (we tried a hamburger, salad and appetizer).

Played twilight yesterday. Hadn't played Harding for a few months because so many good deals all over Bay Area. Still love this course because of the classic layout. If you love to draw the ball, this course is for you. Conditions were very muni-like but only because they installed more drainage stuff, etc. getting ready for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in November. No gimmicks here, thank God!

I am not sure what those who praise this course see in it. Although I learned to play golf here over a decade ago, the place is and nearly always has been a dog track. Played yesterday on cut up brown fairways, brown thin greens, bunkers without sand in them marked as GUR ,the the 6th hole shortened to a par-3 and huge holes in the ground with drainage pipe being prepared for installation. Not to mention lazy and largely worthless City employee marshalls sitting in their carts at the first tee asking you to come to them rather than offering a hospitable greeting. With my residents card it is too expensive for what it is. Those who pay rack rates of over $100 must surely be offended by course conditions, a crappy driving area, lousy practice facilities lacking a bunker practice opportunity...............what is the point? I pity the Champions Tour coming here after Sonoma - what a come down! All the surrounding municipal course conditions far surpass the conditions found here! Save your money and go elsewhere or turn this into a bird sanctuary!

The course is still in pretty good shape from the President's cup. The fairways and tee boxes were pretty good. Course drained fairly well for the winter except for one hole which has a large section marked under repair. The greens seem like they are trying to recover from the cup still. What was clear to me is all the infrastructure created for the president's cup has clearly gone with the event. The website hasn't been updated since. The course rating and slope has changed, the prices are all different. Cheaper in fact, but still not cheap enough. It's an enjoyable round but the course is still way overpriced if you aren't a resident. I paid $79 today to walk as a Norther California resident. Cart was included if I wanted it. The course is probably worth about $60. I have a feeling it will be down to that rate in the next couple years.

Finally got a chance to play here and loved it. Great layout and a very good looking course. Not too much trouble to get into here, and a fun place to play. Very flat, so a very walkable course. There is a lot of noise from the nearby shooting area, but you will be used to it after a while. Course itself was in great condition. Got out as a single in 20 minutes. Course took 4.5 hours. Fairways and greens were great. Bunkers had good sand. Rough was patchy, some areas were thin, some thick, some bare, some were mounds of grass next to bare spots. Don't go in the rough. Had a great time and would recommend it. A little pricey, but rates are a bit cheaper than what is posted. Comes with a free cart, but do yourself a favor and walk.

Played on 2/21. It is really a beautiful course, especially the back 9, however we found it a little overrated and definitely overpriced (at least for non-SF residents). As others said, I'm not sure how they are hosting the President's Cup as I have a difficult time seeing how pros will not eat this course up as not really that challenging if you can keep the ball in play. Fairways are pretty wide, but lined with trees that will give you some trouble if you wind up in them. There are also some pretty tough bunkers with high ridges (but not quite pit).

Right now, the course is very wet, most higher fairway shots will partially plug and greens are really slow and bumpy.

That said, I enjoyed the experience. If you get the SF rate, play, Bay Area rate, questionable, and visitor rate, no way.

Guess I expected too much as it wasn't a memorable course. No one hole stood out as great and most looked the same. Maybe a $40 green fee course....
