Tetherow is every thing you would expect in a semi-private course. From your forecaddy meeting you in the parking lot, picking up your clubs for the driving range, to the links style experience! The most beautiful Links course I have played in the US. Trust me..you want to have and trust your caddy. Club members of course wave this option but for first timers and even if you have played here a couple of time before he was really invaluable. He recommended for me to putt out of a green-side bunker? I just couldn't get my head around that one but I listened to him and I'm glad I did. We had above par weather, 74 and very little wind... I did wish it was a little more windy to get the full links style effect. ("With no wind, it's not Golf" Scotland) The course had so many diverse mix of holes it's hard to describe individually. The layout was designed by David Mclay Kidd, who has designed Brandon Dunes and Castle Course in Scotland so expect the real thing. They say it has an "imaginative routing lined by fescue grasses flowing with the natural terrain." Which means the ball will roll with the landscape so play the course that way!The course winds through Oregon's high desert and is surrounded by beautiful panoramic views of the Central Cascade Mountains. A couple of times the caddy had to tell me it was my turn because i was still looking around. This is pure golf as it was originally played. An unforgettable experience!
