Played an afternoon round on 2/18. Course was really wet, but the weather was sunny, although cold & windy. Our tee time was delayed about 15 minutes & PoP was awful at around 5.5 hours. It was a holiday & one of the first days in a long time that the weather was decent, so I understand why it was so crowded.

With all of the rain we've had, course conditions were extremely wet & sloppy. Lots of standing water & balls were plugging in the fairway, rough & even on the collars of the greens. The fairways offered no roll & just walking on them was an adventure. The rough was wet & nasty. It was about a 40% chance to lose a ball if you didn't hit the fairway & if you found it, advancing it was brutal. 80% of the sand traps were little lakes, with 2-3 feet of water in them. The few that weren't were surprisingly playable. The greens were nice. Soft, but rolling at medium-speed. Definitely the highlight of the course.

The course is green & beautiful, but I would suggest waiting for a couple consecutive weeks of dry weather before playing here. Late Spring/Early Summer & Peacock will be in wonderful shape. For now, I would suggest trying Rooster Run in Petaluma & Corica South in Alameda, as both are far more playable.

Played early Saturday 1/26. This is by far the best draining public course in the Marin/Sonoma area. With all of the rain we have received north of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is the spot to play. Fairways had roll, no standing water on the course, no plugs & no lost balls in the rough. Had a couple of mud balls, but nothing severe. Carts were 90*, but a very easy walking course.

If you are looking to play in the North Bay during the rainy season, this course will provide the best playable conditions, hands down.

I have been to Monterey plenty of times & played many of the other offerings on the peninsula, but I have only been to Pebble Beach once – during the 2000 US Open. I remember rolling up to Pebble thinking I wouldn’t ever consider paying $500 to play any golf course & after walking the course, I would pay 4x that amount. The place is simply stunning.

Smash cut to 18 years later – I won a free round at Pebble Beach in my Golf Group’s Annual Member-Guest tourney in March of this year, so finally got a chance to play it on 11/10. First off the tee at 6:40am & our 4-some was set up with a caddie for each person. Just an amazing morning – zero wind, about 60 degrees & climbing and no fog. There was definitely smoke from the fires up in Northern California, however the air quality was okay.

Being first off, we set the pace at around 3:45. We were about 2-holes ahead of the next group throughout the round. They are hosting the Taylormade Invitational this week, so the conditions were immaculate: from the tee boxes to the greens & everything in between. Soup to nuts, a solid 9.5. Caddies were really knowledgeable & fun. We finished our round with the obligatory lunch & drinks in the Taproom & it is everything it’s cracked up to be & more. The food & service were outstanding & the ambiance is second to none. Just an amazing, Bucket-List Day!

Played Sunday 9/30. Teed off at 7:50, PoP was right on 4-hours. Like the previous review from Johnny, this was my 2nd time playing here & I enjoyed it even more than the first go around. The layout is just fantastic, with the back nine being my clear favorite.

The fairways, rough, tee boxes & sand traps all remain in great condition. The greens, however are just fantastic. Big, undulating, smooth, fast & firm.

They offer golf boards, which is like a combination of golf cart & skateboard, so I decided to try one out this time around. It was a blast, highly recommended if you're in to that sort of thing.

The staff there is really friendly from check-in to the starter to the on-course marshals. The only downside is that PoP is brutal out there if you don't tee it up early. Other than that, Top Notch: Quickly climbing the list of favorite Bay Area courses & highly recommended!

Played 9/21 for $57/w cart on Friday Prime Time is well worth the price of admission! Chamber of Commerce Day: Just amazing weather hovering around 70* with not a puff of wind.

As I parked, a guy from the pro shop brought a cart right to my car & greeted me with a smile. Extremely friendly people in the pro shop as well. I had a 7:50 time, but they told me to tee off when ready. I had a single join up with me on the tee & off we went.

PoP was right around 2-hours, as we both had carts & both play quick. We passed a 4-some on #3 & after that it was like we had our own private course! The greens are in the best shape & the quickest I've ever played them: Firm, fast & very challenging. The fairways are mostly lush green carpets, with a couple random wet areas (we chased the maintenance guys, so likely from sprinklers) & a few minor brown spots. The rough, tee boxes & bunkers were all well maintained. Overall, the conditions are fantastic right now.

As with any seaside track, the conditions really effect the playability & enjoyment of the course. I've endured Bodega in frigid temps, debilitating fog & Howling winds. Getting to play here on a beautiful, warm & calm day is close to a religious experience & I am super stoked to have had the opportunity.

2nd Round of the day with JohnnyGK & Alex326. Unfortunately, BGarcelon had to bow out. Started off by getting lunch at the restaurant. The food was excellent , it had a great atmosphere with ample seating, a huge bar (lots of quality craft beers on tap!) & lots of TVs - Great spot to reminisce about a round or watch a game. The staff are very friendly & attentive. A+

I agree with the previous posts that the course is not quite as spectacular as Rancho Solano, however it provides juxtaposition to the layout & the greens of its sister course. Variety is the spice of life! It definitely seems to get more play & it showed in the tee boxes, fairway divots (no sand provided on carts!) & unrepaired ball marks on the green, but to be fair, we did play it in the afternoon.

Overall, a solid choice with some great risk/reward holes & seeing Johnny hit a bomb on 13, then proceed drive the green on 14 was a sight to behold. A great way to end a wonderful day!

Little late on my review, apologies! Played 9/12 with Johnny GK, BGarcelon & Alex326. Really great group & it was an absolute pleasure to tee it up with these guys.

As previously stated, the course is solid: Great conditions, the layout is fun & interesting with a mix of elevation changes, doglegs & water. The greens are the defining feature of the course, just huge, medium-fast & undulating. You can easily leave yourself 100-ft+ putts on multiple greens & leaving your ball above the hole is a problem.

The staff were very friendly & the beverage cart came around at good intervals. Didn't get food, but Alex had a breakfast burrito that looked delicious & was about the size of the greens out there. Pretty sure it took care of his breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Great course, great time! Will definitely be back soon.

Indian Valley is a very unique track: Extremely beautiful with no houses within view (except for the working horse ranch along 3 & 17), an abundance of wildlife on & around the course, and Amazing views of of Stafford Lake & the surrounding hillsides.

Played Monday 9/17 & tee'd off around 11:30. PoP was decent atabout 4-hours. Beautiful day, but the wind was definitely a factor. The course is in decent shape, with the greens being the best part. They were mostly smooth, soft & medium/fast. Some bare areas. Tee Boxes are in decent shape with many not being level & definite divot damage. The fairways are mostly okay, with some wild variations between wet/lush & dry/thin. The rough was like the fairways, with lots of variation. The sand traps were in good shape, with good firm sand & were well cared for. Overall, I would describe the course as "Scruffy", as many courses are around here in late Summer.

If you are ever in the area, I would recommend playing Indian Valley as it is a very unique & visually stunning course. Elevation changes are extreme & the majority of holes are funky & quirky. There's an actual working elevator that takes walkers from 14 up to the tee on 15, however this is a very tough course to walk.

Played on Sunday 9/2. Really cool layout. Totally different look than the majority of courses I play around here & I very much enjoyed it. Visually deceptive & challenging from the tee and pretty straightforward on the approach shots. Great mix of long & short holes and a variety of ways to play each one. Course knowledge goes a long way here.

The greens were mostly large & undulating and in fantastic shape: Smooth, fast & just a pleasure to putt. The fairways were very nice & the ball sat up. There were a few bare areas, especially on the front nine. The rough was interesting: The primary rough was consistent & not overly difficult, however, lurking just beyond the primary rough on many holes is long fescue that is very penal. Made for some real interesting attempts to get out of there. Bunkers were great, as were the tee boxes. The service at check-in was very good & the starter/marshalls were friendly. Not sure about the food, but the restaurant was packed. The only downside was the Pace of Play: Slow. Took us nearly 5 hours to finish & we tee'd off fairly early.

Overall, a great course & and highly recommended. It should mature into something really special, if they can keep the conditions up. This place gets a ton of play, so time will tell if they can get the PoP under control. Like EYE2016 stated: A great up & coming venue.

Quick Update from my round 2-weeks ago: Played a tournament there on 8/25. The greens are improving: Still slow & a bit bumpy, with a few really bad spots, but at least trending in the right direction. The rest of the course is in pretty good shape, hopefully the greens catch up soon.

Windsor is one of my favorite courses in NorCal. The combination of layout, conditions & price make it worth the 40-minute (at best) drive from my house. The layout is spectacular: Not a long course, but extremely strategic. The definition of Target Golf. The par 3's are challenging, especially 7 and 13. You use a variety of clubs off the tees on the par 4s, which I like. Hole #2 is one of the toughest holes I've played in Marin/Sonoma (Adobe Creek #7 was a close 2nd, but no longer exists). The conditions are generally very good, with the exception of the winter months, as it doesn't drain well. Not manicured like a private course, but the fairways, bunkers & greens are usually in above average shape. For a prime-time, weekend walking rate of $59, I'm a fan. It has a full range of practice facilities including a grass driving range, separate chipping/short game area & a couple of putting greens. The staff are pretty laid back & friendly. Charlie's Grill is a nice spot to eat after the round. The Chilaquiles with a Racer 5 from Bear Republic is a pretty epic combo. You can sit out on the patio & watch people tee off on 10.

Played 8/19 & 2nd group off at 6:20. Foggy morning & the course was very wet from the dew. PoP was 3:15 & could easily been under 3, but had to wait on the group ahead late in the back nine.

Greens - Were soft, smooth & rolling at medium speed. Firmed as the course dried over the round. Definitely not as fast as I'm used to seeing up there, but putts rolled true & there were no ball marks.

Fairways - Nice. Lush. Never had a bad lie in the short stuff.

Bunkers - Was in a few: No complaints. All seemed raked & cared for.

Rough - Thick & gnarly in some places, bare in others.

Tee Boxes - Most were fine, some could use some leveling & others had divot damage.

It's definitely a drive from SF/Marin/East Bay, but well worth it, especially if you're a craft beer lover, as there are a number of amazing breweries close, including Bear Republic in Healdsburg & Russian River Brew Co. in Santa Rosa & they will be opening a new location in Windsor, Fall of this year.

Played Harding yesterday. Please be aware that the greens are in horrific shape. Absolutely no indication from the course that the greens were in poor condition until we checked in and the guy at the desk told us. There should be an alert posted at the very least, so that people can decide whether to pay the upscale fees for compromised greens BEFORE they get there.

The Greens: Either they were punched again or they are not simply not healing at all since the previous review by Auflu a couple weeks ago. Sandy, completely bumpy & just plain terrible. In my opinion, totally unacceptable in light of the green fees they charge.

The Fairways: Wet in many places, Shoe-Squish wet. Dry & fine in others. About 60/40 dry.

Rough: Not overly lush, but definitely snarly & penal. Wet in many places.

Sand Traps: Was in a few & they were all pretty good. Consistent & decent sand.

Tee Boxes: Nothing weird, some bare spots, but mostly level & fine

Service: Pretty indifferent. Not friendly, but not rude either. Cart service came around once the whole round & it was a crowded course.

PoP: Right around 4 hours. Not bad considering it was a weekend & we teed off Mid-Morning.

I am going to be playing in a tournament there in two weeks & I am not optimistic about any improvement in the conditions of the greens. I'll try to post an update then.
