Played on Tuesday in the afternoon. Course is in great shape even after the rain. Got a little windy in the afternoon but still very playable. I will say this is one of the nicest muni courses I have played. Easily worth the rate during the week. Some great ocean views while playing.

Most of the tee boxes were in great shape. Some had some divot damage but still very playable. Fairways were great, good coverage with almost no brown spots. Gave some good roll and very easy to hit from. Rough was really non existent. It looked like they were freshly mowing all the rough. Sand was ok. Mixed bag with some fresh good even sand and some very thin. Greens were above average not great. In the afternoon they were pretty bumpy where the ball would bounce off line. They looked good and were firm and somewhat fast.

First time playing here and looks like it gets lots of action. I would definitely play here again. If I lived in the area it would be a weekly game. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to play I highly suggest it. It is walkable but there are some steep hills, but only on 3-4 holes.

Played Sunday in about 4.5 hours. Course is in good shape but not great. Tee boxes were mostly level and good coverage. Fairways were ok. They were firm with lots of roll. Pretty easy to hit from but you definitely felt the firmness of the ground. The rough was not existent. The bigger issue was the clumps of grass in the rough. It was thin but of course the ball would stop next to a large clump of grown rough making it kind of annoying. Sand was a mixed bag. All the bunkers were nicely groomed, but some were very thin and hard pan, and some had more sand in them. Greens were good, firm and most of the time the ball rolled well most of the time. Don’t think I would pay the rack rate to play. I heard they are planning major renovations but not sure when that may happen. They also need new mats in the range, they are looking very tired and need to be replaced.

Played in an SCGA event on Monday and enjoyed the course. Pace was good at under 5 hours. Tees were all level and no real issues. Fairways were a mixed bag, some where thin and some areas looked doormat. For the most part they were playable and gave good roll. Rough was also a mixed bag some areas were thick, around the green was not an issue. It was easy to use the Texas wedge if needed. Sand was in very good shape and well manicured. Greens were fast and smooth. They were listed at a 12 and probably played near that number. You definitely want to stay below the hole. If you are above it you are looking at a 3 putt. They were firm but would hold a well hit shot.

The course is pretty tight with a lot of trees lining the fairways. You can't go left on this course. Left is OB on almost all the holes. The majority of the holes you can miss right but will have to deal with trees. I found the course a good challenge with a decent variety of holes. The course is walkable with some elevation changes but nothing to drastic. It is a private country club but if you get the chance to play at a good price I would give it a shot.

Played the old Eastlake today. Haven’t been here in a while as their prices are a little high in my opinion. Paid $59 with cart today.

Overall course is in really nice shape. Range is good and nice practice area. Teed off a little early and played right at 4 hours with no pressure.

Tee boxes are good with good coverage. Nice to see some of the new tee boxes that pushes the course to almost 7000 yards. Fairways were lush with good roll. Didn’t see that many brown spots and if you did they were in the edges. Rough was enough to keep you paying attention. I was in a couple of bunkers and the sand was good. Greens were listed at 11.5 but I think they were a lot faster. I had 6 3 putts because I could not get the speed down.

If you have been on the fence give the course a try. I would play now before summer hits and it starts to brown.

Played the oak course today. It is going through major renovations. They have closed a couple of holes. Added a temporary par 3. They are moving some major dirt and looking to add some very nice water features. Must be a pretty major investment, which is good to see.

Course was in good condition. If you don’t mind some holes shortened and a couple of temporary greens. I’d say 14 of the holes are good and not affected. They were in good shape tee to green. Sand was good and greens rolled well with just a bump or two.

No discount in green fees for the construction so be warned. I would say still worth playing if you can’t get a tee time nearby.

Played Riverwalk today in the morning. Went out as a single behind a three-some. No waiting and no one behind me, finished in about 3:15. Course was in good shape. Some tee boxes were beat up but still playable. Fairways were ok. Looked like they were getting ready to overseed. Most played ok, a few times I had to move my ball to find a green spot. Sand was very nice. In a couple of bunkers and looked like new white sand. Pretty soft and thick. Greens were very good. They played fast, probably the fastest I have seen at Riverwalk.

Course is very walkable and has some fun holes. If you get the chance you should play it.

A little late on the review but played Riverwalk on Monday. Course is in good playable shape. Not much has really changed since my last review. The one thing I noticed was the amount of stakes and ropes in the fairways. Riverwalk always has lots of fairways roped off, but this day seemed to be more.

Like I mentioned before not much of a change from my last review. If you get a chance you should play.

Played Enagic (formally Eastlake) for the first time since 10-2020. San Diego resident rate is $55 with a cart. You can walk but they do not offer walking rates. Course is surrounded by houses and you can easily hit 1, or 2 or 3 or ….

Course is in good and very playable shape. Most tee boxes were level and good to tee from with some divot damage. Fairways were ok. Some brown and some thin spots. Most of them were ok but did find a few where I had to move the ball to get a decent spot to hit from. Rough could be pretty difficult. Off the fairways they were ok about 1-2 inches. Around the greens they got much deeper, some 3-5 inches deep. Watch your ball or you may lose it. Greens were in very good shape. Listed at 10.5 but played a little faster. Mostly flat and a few ball marks but rolled really well. Sand was crusty but playable with rakes and we’ll maintained.

Pace was great, I think tee times are around 8-9 minutes apart. Course was crowded and we played behind a 2-some and had some difficulty keeping up. Finished right at 4 hours.

Overall course is very playable and probably worth the resident weekday rate. Not sure about non-resident or weekend rate.

Played the north course on Monday morning. The course is in good to very good shape. Check in was easy and fast. No need for a mask if you have been vaccinated.

Tee boxes were ok. Found some were uneven and had lots of divot damage. Fairways were good, some brown spots here and there but nothing really bad. Rough was a little thicker then normal and something you would have to think about before you club selection. Sand was just ok. I guess with COVID there may be a shortage of rakes? They had one rake per trap? GO PANIC BUY YOUR RAKES NOW PEOPLE :)

Greens were very good. No sign of recent aeration. They rolled at a medium to fast pace and had a few bumps to them. Overall the course was very playable and pace was great at 4 hours. If you get the chance to play I would suggest this course.

Went down to bajamar with some friends for a Friday morning round. Drive down is very easy and about 1:15 from the border. I haven’t played here in more then 5 years but really enjoyed the course. As mentioned before it has gone from 3 - 9 hole course to straight 18.

Clubhouse has gone under some renovation and looked really nice. Grab some food before the round. They have a great restaurant. All Covid rules are enforced.

The course was in good shape. The tees were level and had good coverage. Fairways were brownish green, kinda like most SD fairways in the late summer. Sand was good but no rakes. Greens were above average and firm. Saw some large bounces with well struck balls. First 3-4 greens showed signs of punching about 2-3 weeks old. A little bumpy but played ok.

The real reason to play this course is the back nine. Last 4 holes are on the water. Most holes have Ocean views but 15-18 are literally next to the cliffs. I would say they are as nice as spyglass front 9. Except spyglass conditions are a 10.

If you get the chance I would at least play it once.

Played willow this week and the course is in great shape. Everything from tee to green is lush and very playable. Some of the par 3 tees are a little beat up but that is to be expected. Fairways are lush and green with no brown spots. Traps are in great shape with rakes. Greens are smooth and at a medium to fast pace with very few ball marks.

All in all the course is in great shape. If you stayed away because of summer dry conditions please give it a try. I know the advertised rate is a little high but the course is in good shape and I have never had a problem with pace of play.

Played a late afternoon round after flying in to San Jose, paired up with some young guns and another single. Course is in good to great shape. Only downside is pace of play, everything was good on the front 9 but the back slowed to a crawl and pulled the plug after 17.

Tees were mostly good, level and easy to find a spot, some had a lot of divot damage. Fairways were good. Easy to hit from the few I found. Rough was not to bad and was playable. Sand was good but no rakes and late in the day it appeared a lot of people had been in the bunkers! Greens were good at a medium to fast pace. A little bumpy with a lot of poorly repaired ball marks.

Front nine is pretty average with some good holes, back is where the teeth come out. Probably the cause of the pace of play. If I was in the area I would definitely play again.
