Rode the Blacks (6627/71.9/130) with Jim mid day in 3.5H. Conditions were overcast, breezy and in the mid 80's.

The Bermuda tees were lush and nicely maintained. Level with hardly any unfixed divots.

The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and well maintained, nice to play from.

The Bermuda rough is hit and miss. Close to the fairways is long enough for the ball to sit down. Away from the fairways you could get hardpan to calf deep.

The sand traps were mediocre. nicely raked but many are thin.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and relatively smooth. Firm, hardly any ball marks because of the firmness.

Ted Robinson design that is has plenty of trees, hills, water and OB along the edges to keep you on your toes. Constantly up/down rolling hills with many raised green complexes and numerous tiered greens plus a generous amount of water & sand to avoid. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. Ample water stations every few holes on the course. Carts have GPS. Fun course in very playable condition for late summer. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6279/70.4/131) with JohnnyGK, Hmtgolfguy and Lotrgolfer48 in around 5.5H in the GK Cup 12 Final match. The weather was mostly sunny, breezy and hot. Thanks to John for setting up and coordinating getting 16 guys out for the GK Cup final.

Really like the layout, lots of elevation changes and the greens are challenging. Hilly layout with some forced carries and a few blind shots. Most holes have hazards down both sides, but most are not overly tight. The front 9 is more target golf, the back 9 more wide open.

The Bermuda tees were mediocre. Many needed more turf and divot repair.

The Bermuda fairways were better to play from than they look. Not lush, but I rarely had a thin lie either.

The mostly Bermuda rough was thinner than the fairways but still had adequate coverage. Mowed down, not overly penal.

The fairway traps were okay, more hard packed. The green side sand traps were good. Higher quality sand and decently maintained.

The poa annua greens putted consistently medium speed, were fairly smooth and held well struck irons well.

The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. Drink cart out and making the rounds. Plenty of water stations on the course. GPS does not work on the carts w/o an extra fee. This would be a very challenging course to walk, combination of the hills and the sheer distance from some greens to the next tee. Recommended, fun layout.

Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) as a single in 2H, 45M mid day using Forelinx. The weather was clear, breezy and in the low 100's.

Enjoyable shorter layout usually in good condition. They are just a few days from closing for fall over seeding, and the course is currently marginally playable. Basically hard pan from tee to green, the greens were at best average. Good customer service as always. Recommended AFTER fall over seeding.

Rode the Blues (6323/70.6/127) with Doug & Jeff in 3H, 15M on a GN Hot Deal. The weather was sunny, fairly calm and in the low 100's.

Enjoy this Ted Robinson layout that is not overtly tight. However, there are places you have to be precise around and over water or you can incur penalty strokes in bunches. Up/down rolling hills with many raised green complexes and numerous tiered greens plus a generous amount of water & sand to avoid. The course was in solid late summer condition.

The Bermuda Tees were very good, level with good coverage and few divots.

The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and well maintained.

The Bermuda rough was mostly mowed down but still difficult to play out of because of the thickness.

The Sand traps had good quality sand but the depths were inconsistent.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were firm. Hardly any ball marks because of the firmness, they rolled well.

The customer service was okay from all encountered. Cart gal out making the rounds, ample water stations every few holes on the course. Good GPS on the carts. Range balls are included in your fee, all grass range that is adequate. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6671/72.8/133) in slightly over 3H using Forelinx. The weather was clear, breezy and around 100.

Under rated, unique layout. If you are around a green, it is mowed as fairway and plays like a links style course encouraging bump/runs or putting from well off the green. You need to manage the course and AVOID the bunkers here more so than on most courses. Numerous holes have 6-8 fairway bunkers that are more severe that the average golfer is used to navigating through. Green side bunkers are deep and large. The difficulty factor is deceptive and I like the visuals that the holes present. Almost every hole has a forced carry over desert scape, but the fairways are very generous in size.

The tee boxes are huge, level and very nicely maintained.

The fairways were lush & well maintained. Few unfixed divots, but they are currently mowed high, so not alot of roll.

Really no rough to speak of because the fairways go straight from fairway to desert scape. The only grass maintained higher than the fairways is a strip around the sand traps.

The sand traps are plentiful and decently maintained with good quality sand.

The firm greens had good coverage but were woefully slow.

The customer service throughout the staff was exceptional. Nice grass range with complimentary balls, nice sand/chipping and practice putting areas that closely resembled the on course conditions. Good GPS on carts. Complementary bottled water in the ice chest, and the cart gal was out making the rounds. Definitely recommended.

Walked the Whites (5633/67.7/112) in a Charity Tournament last Saturday. Typical Saturday tournament POP, well over 4.5H. Clear and calm conditions around 65. Played with Mike, Doris and Jody, we had a good time. $54 to walk Saturday morning was sticker shock compared to what I have been paying in the desert!

Really enjoy the par 71 layout featuring three par 5's and four par 3's. Some doglegs with a couple of blind tee shots. The area in front of greens is mowed down like a links course, so everything from a putter to a lob wedge may be a viable option from 15 yards off the green. Beside and behind the greens the Kikuyu rough is taller, thick and plain needs to be avoided.

The Kikuyu tees were nice, mowed down and well maintained.

The Kikuyu fairways had good coverage. Semi lush, mowed down low, they were nice to play from.

The mostly Kikuyu rough was thick and difficult to hit from. Especially difficult to chip from. Mostly good coverage, a few hard pan areas farther off the fairways. At least a 1/2 club penalty for most golfers.

#10 green side is the only sand trap on the course. Looked to be decently maintained.

The mostly smallish greens putted nice. Medium fast, relatively smooth and held approach shots well. No large tiers or mounds, but there are few straight putts and putts above the hole are quick.

The downhill holes do not play as short as you expect because of the lack of roll on the Kikuyu. The uphill holes play longer than you would expect for the same reason. So scorecard yardages are VERY deceptive. Morro Bay GC is an old school layout around 100 years old. Not a tight course and offers tremendous views of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. In spite of the ocean views, this course would remind you more of a mountain course than a beach course. You do not expect a VERY hilly course with tree lined fairways less than a mile from the ocean. The layout is constantly up down hills, some severely up/down. The customer service was excellent. Drink cart out making the rounds. Small warm-up range that is basically pitch shots only close to #1 tee. Fun course, Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6739/73.1/140) twilight in slightly less than 3H. The weather was sunny, breezy and around 105.

Pete Dye design that features moguls and large bunkers galore that make for challenging sight lines. Many of the traps here the average golfer needs to steer clear of to avoid big numbers. Bad shots are really penalized here. Miss the fairway or green and your recovery shot will almost assuredly be a side hill lie, often an extreme side hill lie. Even relatively good shots barely offline can quickly result in a double or worse.

The Bermuda tees were lush and well maintained, only some par 3's needed divot attention.

The Bermuda fairways were lush with most divots already repaired.

The Bermuda rough was lush and still thick even though mowed down.

The plentiful sand traps were well maintained with good quality sand. One I was in was thin and could have used more sand. There are many large traps on this course, a few with 10' to 15' lips to play over. Avoiding the sand here is a higher priority than almost any other course I have played.

The Bermuda greens putted nice. Medium speed, smooth for Bermuda, consistent and firm.

The customer service was top notch. No drink cart twilight. Numerous water stations on the course. Good GPS on the carts. Nice all grass range that was unfortunately closed today. Very challenging layout in good late summer condition. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Blues (6522/72.2/134) in slightly over 3H mid day using Forelinx. The weather was sunny, breezy and around 105.

Nicklaus Tournament is one of the toughest chipping courses I have ever played because of the firm raised greens that are surrounded by steep banks on 2 or more sides on almost every hole. The layout features mounds along the side of fairways, large/deep bunkers, several split fairways and some expansive sand waste bunkers. Not in as good condition overall as Stadium, but still quite playable for late summer.

The Bermuda tees were mostly lush and decent to play from.

The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and nice to play from. A few hardpan areas along the perimeter on some holes.

The Bermuda rough was lush and mowed low but still thick.

The large sand traps are plentiful here. Many have decent size lips and need to be avoided in most cases because of the raised greens. Mostly in good condition, decently maintained.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed & were firm and somewhat bumpy.

The cart gal was out making the rounds numerous times. Excellent customer service from everyone involved with the golf. Plenty of water stations on the course. Good GPS on the carts. Nice all grass range that was unfortunately closed today. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 2H, 45M twilight. The weather was sunny, calm and around 110.

Firecliff is usually is better playing condition than Mountain View, but not today.

The Bermuda tees were lush and nice to play from. Level with few divots.

The Bermuda fairways were lush.

The Bermuda rough was mowed low, is lush and generally good to play from. Good thing it's low, because it is thick Bermuda.

The sand traps were decently maintained but were too thin for my taste.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were smooth and firm. Nice!

Excellent customer service on every visit here. Plenty of water/ice stations on the course. Nice GPS on carts. No drink cart person out this afternoon. Nice all grass driving range with a good chipping area & practice green. Fun layout to play, definitely recommended.

Rode the Purple tees (6676/72.1/136) in 2H, 45M midday using Forelinx. The weather was clear, calm and around 110.

The tees were mostly lush. Level with few divots.

The fairways were lush, firm and nice to play from.

The rough is mostly lush and mowed down, Good POP rough, not penal. Generally nice to play from.

The green side traps had good quality white sand and were decently maintained. The waste bunkers were firm and not as well maintained as the green side traps.

The Bermuda greens were firm, somewhat bumpy and medium speed.

The customer service is always excellent here from when you drop your clubs off out front to when you pick them up out front. The all grass driving range is included and above average. Nice chipping area. Drink cart out making the rounds. Good GPS on carts. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Golds (6794/72.8/128) in 2.5H using Forelinx twilight. The weather was around 110 and clear with a little breeze.

Nice layout with 18 solid holes of golf. Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. Huge difference in the par 3's when I move back to the Golds. 233, 205, 126 & 193 compared to 192, 175, 110 & 162 from the Blues. That is an average of 25 yards per par 3, you start adding 2-3 clubs on every one and the whole course perspective changes.

The Bermuda tees were level, well maintained with few divots and mostly lush.

The Bermuda fairways were nice to play from, lush.

The Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not overly penal. Good to chip out of.

The sand traps were good. Well maintained, mostly firm with medium texture brown sand.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and firm, so even well struck irons would release. Few ball marks because of the firmness.

The customer service was limited, but excellent from everyone encountered. The carts are equipped with GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between three different residential complexes. Could use more water stations on the course. Recommended as a good middle of the road alternative for the Palm Springs area.

Rode the Orange Tees (6538/71.6/130) with Matt, Perry and Ron in around 4.5H mid day. The weather was over 110, muggy, clear and fairly calm. Thanks to Johnny for setting this up and for IW for having us out!

Really like this John Fought layout that features 7 sets of well spaced tees. Par 72 (37-35). The course is a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Challenging layout featuring many holes with fairways that are either narrow in the landing area or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. The course conditions were excellent overall.

The Bermuda tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots.

The Bermuda fairways were lush and very nice to play from.

The Bermuda rough is mowed down and not overly penal with good coverage.

The sand traps were well maintained with fine sand.

The Bermuda greens were smooth and putted medium speed. Firm with few ball marks. These large greens have many subtle undulations with few straight putts. Large challenging green complexes.

I appreciate this layout more with each round played here. This course would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees hundreds of yards from the last green. The customer service is always excellent here. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. Nice GPS on the carts. Cart gal was around numerous times. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is a plus. Highly recommended.
