Played the Blacks (54.6/98/3020) mid day as a single in 2H, 15M using Forelinx. It was sunny, around 80 and windy.

Fun short course with 17 par 3's and a short par 4. #18 is the only hole with a water hazard. Nice place to work on your irons. A couple holes over 200 from the tips, with the shortest at 118, and a good mixture of lengths in between. I often use at least 8 different irons off the tee while playing here.

Tees were very mediocre.

The Bermuda fairways and rough do not come into play much, but they were thin and dried out preparing for over seeding.

The traps were poorly maintained, almost unplayable. Many waste areas if you get wide of the rough can come into play.

The Bermuda greens putted quick but were mostly bumpy and firm. Few ball marks because of their firmness.

Customer service always limited but good here. No drink cart, plenty of water on the course. GPS on the carts to the front/middle/back of the greens. Course is about to be closed for over seeding and is currently in scruffy condition. Fun course, recommended AFTER fall over seeding.

Rode the Blacks (6706/72.1/130) in around 3H twilight using Forelinx. Started as a single, then with Matt for a few holes and finished up with Tom & Elliott for the last few holes. Sunny, fairly calm conditions around 85.

First time I have mowed back to the Blacks here, and several holes are MUCH tougher from the Blacks than the Golds. Traditional Dye runoffs around greens with mounds, water features etc. present. This is a more fun course to play then most Dye layouts I have experienced. Lots of OB & water, but most landing areas are generous in size. Approach shots on holes 7, 8, 14 & 18 have water barely off the greens.

The Bermuda tees were very chewed up and severely needed divot repair. Scruffy, however, the rest of the course was well above average in playing condition.

The Bermuda fairways were fairly lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots.

The Bermuda rough was semi lush and not overly penal. Good POP rough, mostly mowed low, usually good to play from.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with good quality sand.

The Bermuda greens were firm and putted medium speed.

This course would be difficult to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green. No GPS on the carts. They could definitely use some combo tees here, as having no tee option between 6700 & 6100 yards seems too large a gap for me. Good facilities, complementary range balls although the range tops out @ 220 yards.

Plenty of water stations on the course and the Drink cart was out making the rounds. The customer service was excellent all around. Fun layout, Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6671/72.8/133) as a single twilight in 2.5H using Forelinx. The weather was sunny, fairly calm and around 85.

I do not score well here but still like this layout. This course is certainty different visually from other courses with huge, wide fairways surrounded by crushed granite. Almost every hole has a forced carry over desert scape, but the fairways are generous in size. You better hit the fairway, because it's usually a lost ball or unplayable lie in the desert scape.

The Bermuda tees are lush and well maintained.

The Bermuda fairways were lush & well maintained. Few unfixed divots.

The only grass that qualifies as traditional rough here are the strips around the sand traps, because if you are around a green, it is mowed fairway height. Outside the fairway is the crushed granite and the desert scape.

There are a large amount of sand traps on this course. Well maintained with high quality sand. The green side bunkers are deep and large and the fairway traps often have larger lips than most people are used to playing from.

The Bermuda greens putted medium slow and were fairly bumpy. Firm and tough to hold a shot where it landed.

The customer service was very good from all encountered. Drink cart around numerous times. Nice grass range with complimentary balls, nice sand/chipping and practice putting areas that closely resembled the on course conditions. Nice restaurant onsite with outdoor patio dining. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6158/69.5/125) in 3H, 10M mid day using Forelinx. Played with Fernando under sunny, calm conditions around 85.

More fun to play than most Dye layouts. There is OB down both sides of many holes and numerous holes have water that comes prominently into play. However, most of the landing areas are generous in size, there are just specific shots where there is little margin for error. The traditional Dye runoffs around greens, mounds, water features etc. are present. However, they are tamer here than on most Dye layouts I have experienced.

The Bermuda tees were chewed up and needed divot repair. Worst part of the course.

The Bermuda fairways were fairly lush and well maintained. Few unfixed divots.

The Bermuda rough was semi lush and not overly penal. Usually good to play from.

The sand traps were decently maintained with a good amount of good quality sand.

The Bermuda greens were firm and putted medium speed. The breaks here are not as severe as on most Dye layouts, but expect few if any straight putts.

Good facilities, complementary range balls although the range tops out @ 220 yards. This course would be difficult to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green. No GPS on the carts. Overall, I think a par 70 layout with only 2 par 5's is a minus. Also, not having a tee option between 6700 & 6100 yards seems too large a gap for my taste, particularly when my preferred yardage is squarely in that gap.

The customer service was excellent all around. Plenty of water stations on the course and the Drink cart was out making the rounds. Fun layout, but not as good as it's sister Player layout IMO. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6671/72.8/133) with Dave in 3H, 45M using Forelinx. The weather was clear, fairly calm and around 85.

The difficulty factor is deceptive and I like the visuals that the layout presents. Almost every hole has a forced carry over desert scape, but the fairways are very generous in size. Unique layout that plays like a quasi links style course encouraging bump/runs or putting from well off the green.

The tee boxes are lush, level and very nicely maintained.

The fairways were lush & well maintained. Few unfixed divots.

Not much rough as the fairways go immediately to desert scape on this course. The only grass maintained higher than the fairways is a strip around the sand traps.

The sand traps are plentiful and decently maintained with good quality sand. Numerous holes have 6-8 fairway bunkers that are more severe that the average golfer is used to navigating through. Green side bunkers are deep and large.

The large, firm greens putted medium slow.

The customer service is always good here. Nice grass range with complimentary balls, nice sand/chipping and practice putting areas that closely resembled the on course conditions. Good GPS on carts. Complementary bottled water in the ice chest, and the cart gal was out making the rounds. Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) as a single twilight in 2.5H using Forelinx. The weather was sunny with a little breeze around 90.

Fun layout to play. Tale of completely different nines. The front has several short risk/reward par 4's, but the par 5's are long. The back has three long, tough par 4's but the par 5's are roughly 50 yards shorter than the front nine's par 5's. All grass driving range is a +. No GPS on the carts is a -.

The Bermuda tees were nicely maintained, lush and level.

The Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from. Still in great shape but very firm.

The Bermuda rough is drying out. Tough to play longer clubs from. Mostly cut low, but still thick with a few thin areas.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with fine quality sand.

The Bermuda greens are firm and putted medium fast speed. Relatively smooth for Bermuda and they are getting faster and faster as they dry them out heading toward fall over seeding. Easy to run a down hill putt well past the hole.

The layout has mostly generous landing areas but is tight in spots. It would be a good choice for players of all skill levels, few forced carries. Definitely not a course to walk, many holes are a long ways from the last tee. Customer Service always good here. Plenty of water on the course. Recommended.

The sand traps were very good with fine quality sand, Nicely maintained.

The Bermuda greens putted medium fast speed, relatively smooth for Bermuda and are firm. No tiers or huge mounds to navigate, but you rarely ever have a straight putt.

Enjoy this four par 5 and four par 3 layout. The back is almost 300 yards longer, so better score on the risk/reward par 4's on the front. The layout is tight in places, but mostly generous landing areas. It would still be a good choice for players of all skill levels. Definitely not a course to walk, many holes are a long ways from the last tee. All grass driving range is a +. No GPS on the carts is a -. Plenty of water on the course. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6794/72.8/128) as a single super twilight in 2H, 15M using Forelinx. Rushed to beat darkness, the weather was around 95, overcast and breezy.

The Bermuda tees were mostly lush, level and well maintained with few divots.

The Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from.

The Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not overly penal. Good to chip out of.

The sand traps were well maintained, mostly firm with medium texture brown sand.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and firm, so even well struck irons would release. Few ball marks because of their firmness.

Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. Huge difference in the par 3's when I move back to the Golds. 233, 205, 126 & 193 compared to 192, 175, 110 & 162 from the Blues. That's an average of 25 yards per par 3, you start adding 2-3 clubs on every one and the whole course perspective changes.

The carts are equipped with GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between multiple different residential complexes. All grass driving range is in the wash beside hole 9, where they also have a practice chipping green.

They could use more water stations on the course. The customer service was limited, but excellent from everyone encountered. Nice layout with 18 solid holes of golf. Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with Keith and Casey in 3H, 45M mid day using Forelinx. The weather was in the mid 90's, overcast and breezy.

Enjoy this Billy Casper design. The front is almost 300 yards shorter with a couple of risk/reward par 4's. Not only is the back longer, but more holes than not seem to play into the prevailing wind.

The Bermuda tees were lush and very well maintained.

The Bermuda fairways were lush and excellent to play from.

The Bermuda rough is drying out and clumpy as over seeding approaches. Not long but still thick, tough to play longer clubs from.

The sand traps were very well maintained with fine quality sand.

The Bermuda greens are firm but still putted nice, medium speed. No tiers or huge mounds to navigate, but we rarely had a straight putt.

Few forced carries and not too much water would make this course a good choice for players of all skill levels. Mostly generous landing areas, not overtly tight. The customer service was very good all around. Definitely not a course to walk, many holes are a long ways from the last tee. No GPS on the basic carts is the only real negative. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6386/70.7/124) in 2H, 45M mid day using Forelinx. The weather was in the mid 90's and clear with a little breeze.

The Bermuda tees were well maintained, lush with few divots. I had no issue finding a level stance with good grass on all tees.

The Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from.

The Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not penal to play from.

The sand traps were above average. Well maintained and firm with medium texture brown sand.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed. Firm, so even well struck irons would release. Stopping it relatively close to your ball mark was unlikely.

Solid course in above average shape for right before over seeding. Solid layout, fairly wide open with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Minimal on course staff during this time of year. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green. you cross residential streets at least 6 times during your 18 holes here. The carts are equipped with GPS. Recommended if you desire a solid, reasonably priced course in the Palm Springs area that is not too demanding, nor too easy.

Rode the Blacks (6627/71.9/130) with Jim mid day in 3.5H. Conditions were overcast, breezy and in the mid 80's.

The Bermuda tees were lush and nicely maintained. Level with hardly any unfixed divots.

The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and well maintained, nice to play from.

The Bermuda rough is hit and miss. Close to the fairways is long enough for the ball to sit down. Away from the fairways you could get hardpan to calf deep.

The sand traps were mediocre. nicely raked but many are thin.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and relatively smooth. Firm, hardly any ball marks because of the firmness.

Ted Robinson design that is has plenty of trees, hills, water and OB along the edges to keep you on your toes. Constantly up/down rolling hills with many raised green complexes and numerous tiered greens plus a generous amount of water & sand to avoid. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. Ample water stations every few holes on the course. Carts have GPS. Fun course in very playable condition for late summer. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6279/70.4/131) with JohnnyGK, Hmtgolfguy and Lotrgolfer48 in around 5.5H in the GK Cup 12 Final match. The weather was mostly sunny, breezy and hot. Thanks to John for setting up and coordinating getting 16 guys out for the GK Cup final.

Really like the layout, lots of elevation changes and the greens are challenging. Hilly layout with some forced carries and a few blind shots. Most holes have hazards down both sides, but most are not overly tight. The front 9 is more target golf, the back 9 more wide open.

The Bermuda tees were mediocre. Many needed more turf and divot repair.

The Bermuda fairways were better to play from than they look. Not lush, but I rarely had a thin lie either.

The mostly Bermuda rough was thinner than the fairways but still had adequate coverage. Mowed down, not overly penal.

The fairway traps were okay, more hard packed. The green side sand traps were good. Higher quality sand and decently maintained.

The poa annua greens putted consistently medium speed, were fairly smooth and held well struck irons well.

The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. Drink cart out and making the rounds. Plenty of water stations on the course. GPS does not work on the carts w/o an extra fee. This would be a very challenging course to walk, combination of the hills and the sheer distance from some greens to the next tee. Recommended, fun layout.
