Rode 36 from the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in slightly more than 4H as a single twilight using Forelinx. The weather was 90ish, partly cloudy and breezy.

The course is beginning to dry out with the wind and temps near 90 every day recently. Drivers are now reaching areas I could not a month ago and the firmness around the greens definitely needs to be taken into account on your appraoch shots.

The tees were level, lush and well maintained for divots.

The fairways are mowed close, lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots.

The rough is not over seeded here and is mowed low, so no lost ball challenges. Part weeds, part Bermuda coming out of dormancy, you usually have questionable lies in this stuff.

The sand traps have decent sand but are not maintained that well here. Mediocre.

The greens were nice, smooth and firm. You just had to adjust to the medium to medium slow speed.

The customer service is almost always excellent here. Drink cart out making the rounds early in the round and plenty of water stations on the course. GPS on the carts is a +. Fun course, nothing fancy or overly memorable, but a solid layout overall. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6158/69.5/125) using Forelinx late afternoon. High 80's, breezy and hazy with a 2.5H POP as a single.

With only two par 5's, this is not among my favorite area layouts. While most of the landing areas are generous in size, there are several par 4's where Driver is probably not the prudent club off the tee for many golfers. Plenty of OB and water to keep players on their toes. This course would be difficult to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green.

The tees were mostly level, well maintained and nice to play from.

The fairways were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots.

The Bermuda rough is far from lush with scattered areas of hardpan. The mixture of weeds and semi dormant Bermuda is NOT good to play from. Not high but still penal because the lie can wary so widely in a 1 square foot area.

The sand traps have good quality sand but are at best okay. Inconsistent depths and they never are maintained on this course as well as most comparable courses in the area.

The greens were smooth and putted medium speed. So firm they barely have any ball marks and you have to account for some run out even on high iron approaches.

The customer service is always excellent here. No drink cart late in the day, but plenty of water stations on the course. Good facilities, well stocked pro shop. Complementary range balls although the all grass range tops out @ 220 yards. GPS to the front/middle/back of the green only. Fun but not a great layout IMO. Only recommended if you get a deal, not currently worth their rack rate.

Rode the Golds (6158/69.5/125), playing 36 twilight as a single in 5H using Forelinx. Mid 90's, fairly calm and clear. Only saw one 2some and another single after 3pm on the whole course.

Most of the landing areas are generous in size, but there is OB down both sides of most holes and numerous holes have water that comes prominently into play. Not a grip it and rip it course.

The tees were lush, mostly level and well maintained.

The fairways were lush and well maintained. Few unfixed divots.

The Bermuda rough is beginning to come around with the recent hot weather. Still far from lush with scattered areas of hardpan.

The sand traps had good quality sand but did not look like they had been raked today.

The greens were firm, smooth and putted medium speed. They held irons with some run out.

This course would be difficult to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green. GPS to the front/middle/back of the green only. The customer service was excellent all around, no drink cart today. Plenty of water stations on the course. Good facilities, complementary range balls although the range tops out @ 220 yards. Fun layout, but could not recommend at their rack rate. Playing conditions are decent, but a notch below most courses close by.

Rode the Blacks (6669/71.9/128) as a 2some in 3H twilight using Forelinx. The weather was really windy, partly cloudy and in the 80's.

Been awhile since I have played in wind like this. It was down to a semi manageable 20+ mph on the back. However, I was hitting 4-5 extra clubs on the front playing into the wind, and was often coming up laughably short. Averaging over 300 yard drives downwind, not much over 200 yard drives into the wind. I would guess the gusts were in the 40 mph range, everything from my hat to my head covers went flying down the fairway multiple times.

The course is still in nice condition, but is drying out with the hotter, windier weather. Course conditions were a notch below what I experienced last weekend here.

The tees were lush and well maintained.

The fairways are lush and played firm. Nice to play from.

The rough is very lush and thick but not overly high. Just deep enough for the ball to often sit down.

The sand traps had thick, good quality sand. However, many golfers in front of me must have thought the rakes were for someone else to use.

The large greens putted nice, medium fast speed and are firm. #18 has one of the deepest greens I have ever played or even seen. Hi-lite of my round was 2 putting from the very front up the tier to the very back. I paced it off at 140'.

No driving range, you have to go 1/2 mile down the street where the sister Santa Rosa course has a nice, all grass driving range. No GPS on the basic carts. The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No drink cart today. Reasonably priced restaurant onsite that is usually very busy. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6669/71.9/128) with Bill and Carol in 3H, 40M twilight using Under Par. The weather was clear, calm and in the low 90's.

The tees were lush and nicely maintained.

The fairways are cut close, lush and nice to play from.

The rough is very lush and thick but not overly high.

The sand traps were decently maintained with thick, good quality sand.

The large greens are transitioning back to Bermuda as the winter overseed is begining to thin out. They putt better than they look while in never-never land between grasses. They are firm and medium fast with few ball marks.

A negative is that San Gorgonio does not have a driving range. You have to go 1/2 mile down the street where the sister Santa Rosa course has an all grass driving range. Good restaurant onsite. No GPS on the basic carts. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with 24hourgolf, Andrew1 and Tocho261 in our GK Cup match early morning in slightly over 4H using Under Par. The weather was in the low 90's, sunny and fairly calm.

The tees were lush, level and nicely maintained.

The fairways were lush and nice to play from.

The rough was lush/thick. Tough to chip and hit longer clubs out of, it could be punitive. I noticed the entire group was consistenly short on approaches when they found the rough.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.

The greens are transitioning back to Bermuda and the winter overseed is begining to thin out. They are firm and medium fast with few ball marks. They putted much better than they looked.

Santa Rosa is definitely not a course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range. Basic carts do not have GPS. Plenty of water stations on the course and the cart person was out making the rounds. Good restaurant on site. Customer service was very good from everyone. Definitely Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with 24hourgolf twilight in 3H, 45M using Under Par. The weather was in the low 90's sunny and fairly calm.

Conventional 36/36=72 four par 5 and four par 3 layout. The front is almost 300 yards shorter with a couple of risk/reward par 4's.

The tees were lush, level and very nicely maintained.

The fairways were lush and very nice to play from.

The rough was lush/thick. Tough to chip and hit longer clubs out of, it is punitive.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.

The greens are beginning to not look as good after the recent hot weather, but they putt nice. They are transitioning back to Bermuda and the winter overseed is begining to thin out. They are firm and medium fast. Getting quicker and quicker as the day wore on.

Santa Rosa is tight in places, but has mostly generous landing areas off the tee. It would be a good choice for players of all skill levels. Definitely not a course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range. Basic carts do not have GPS. Plenty of water stations on the course and the cart person was out making the rounds. Customer service was very good from everyone. Definitely Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6669/71.9/128) with 24hourgolf, Margot and Dave in 4H, 15M early morning using Under Par. The weather was clear, calm and in the high 80's when we finished just before noon.

Generous landing areas and a reasonable difficulty factor would make this course a good choice for players of all skill levels. Some forced carries and water comes into play on many holes, but not for the more forward tees. Would be a difficult course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green.

The tees were lush and very well maintained.

The fairways are lush and nice to play from.

The rough is super lush and thick but not overly high. Just deep enough for the ball to often sit down.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in 3H, 15M as a single mid day using Forelinx. The weather was 90ish, clear and breezy.

The tees were lush, level and well maintained for divots.

The fairways were lush and well maintained. They play firm, producing some long drives. Nice to play from!

The rough is not over seeded and is cut fairly low. The Bermuda is clumpy and can still be penal.

The sand traps have decent sand but need to be maintained better.

The greens were smooth and medium speed. They are firm but still held irons okay.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in slightly less than 3H as a single mid day. The weather was 90ish, clear and breezy.

I enjoy the Player layout. Nothing tricked up, it's tough but not overly demanding. Tight course in spots with numerous lakes to navigate over/around. Really good all grass practice facilities that are included with your fee.

The tees were level, lush and very well maintained for divots.

The fairways were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. Very nice to play from!

The rough is not over seeded here and is mowed low. The main thing that is penal is that the lie will usually be questionable because the Bermuda is lumpy even though not high.

The sand traps were mediocre. Several had water ruts from sprinkler runoff. While the sand quality was okay, most looked like they had not been raked in everal days. VERY POOR for a Troon facility IMO.

The greens were very nice, smooth and medium to medium fast speed. They looked quicker than they were, seemed like every putt I got online came up just short. They are firm but still held irons okay.

The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No drink cart today but plenty of water stations on the course. GPS on the carts is a +. Solid course, Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6761/72.3/131) with Robb and Mary in slightly over 4H twilight using Forelinx. The weather was clear, fairly calm and in the 80's.

I think the Palm is the superior of the two Marriott Desert Springs courses, better layout than the Valley. Fun Ted Robinson design, up/down rolling hills with some raised green complexes featuring numerous tiered greens. Nice water features with a generous amount of water and sand to avoid. You cannot spray the ball around too much, but Palm is not a super tight course.

The tees were lush. Well maintained with few divots.

The fairways were mostly lush, nice to play from.

The rough was mostly lush close to the fairways. Get away from the fairways and you could encounter hardpan to knee deep lost ball rough.

The sand traps looked okay but were very mediocre. Too thin and firm to be holding a shot to firm, raised greens. The fairway traps firmness was an asset to play from.

The greens were bumpy from a recent vericutt. They putted medium speed and are firm, few ball marks.

The customer service is always excellent here. Drink cart out making numerous rounds, ample water stations every few holes on the course. Carts have good GPS. All grass driving range included in your fee is a +. Fun course layout, Recommended.

Rode the Orange Tees (6538/71.6/130) with Sal and Johnny in around 4H early morning. The weather was in the 80's, clear and fairly calm. Thanks to Johnny for setting this up and IW for having us out!

The course conditions were excellent overall. I appreciate this layout more with each round played here. It would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees 100+ yards from the last green. The customer service is always excellent here. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. Nice GPS on the carts. Cart person came around numerous times. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is a plus.

The tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots.

The fairways were lush and very nice to play from.

The overseeded rough close to greens, just off fairways and around tees is mowed down, not overly penal and is lush. The non over seeded Bermuda rough farther off fairways has good coverage but is not what I would call lush.

The sand traps were well maintained with fine sand.

The greens were smooth and putted medium fast speed. Firm with few ball marks. Large challenging green complexes, the greens feature many subtle undulations with few straight putts.

Really like this John Fought design that features 7 sets of well spaced tees. Par 72 (37-35). The course is a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Challenging layout featuring many holes with fairways that are either narrow in the landing area or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. Highly recommended.
