Played on 10/30 at 8:06 and it was a perfect day for golf. Played a terrible front nine, but got it together on the back. This course and Champions are two of the best courses in So. Cal, and for seniors easily the best for the money. Even regular rate isn't bad for the quality of courses, service, and good pace of play. The fairways, tee boxes, and greens (fast, smooth, and receptive) were excellent. The layout is fair but challenging, though the back nine with its greenside bunkering and long par 4's might be a little severe. You normally have to score on the front nine and try to survive the back, though our group today did the exact opposite, funny game golf. Anyway hurry and play since the courses have definitely been sold though still currently under management of SCPGA. Once ownership changes don't expect the same green fees, the SCPGA is a non-profit organization which helped keep green fees in reasonable range. New owners won't have tax breaks and I can only guess they will raise their price to that of Oak Valley across the fwy. Also heard rumor that one of the two courses will become strictly private membership with neighborhood residents getting membership rates lower than general public. So play before the price goes up and the choice goes down.

Was concerned about fire and smoke, but course showed no ill effects from either. The sky was blue and breeze was up, yet a great day of golf. One of my favorite tracks. Love the seclusion and the layout, though some holes are tricked up, still an excellent place to play. They have promotion giving a $30.00 voucher for every full green fee paid. At $75.00 week day rate this course is too pricey, but is still worth at least one trip to see how great it would be to play golf without the sights and sounds of the urban landscape surrounding you. The course is in very good condition from tee to green, and you free range balls. I know not much but still something more courses should offer their customers.

Played on 9/26 and will tell you the course is in as good condition as I have ever seen it. Been playing here since opening, and from tee to green the place is in excellent condition. The bunkers could be better, but still they have sand and a good shot will get good results. On smog free days this place is spectacular, bright blue sky and granite outcropping make for some scenic golf. The course layout is fair and if playing the correct teeboxes it will give you all you want. The breeze usually picks up around 11:00am, but with the course protected it doesn't cause too much havoc, except for the last 3 or 4 holes which are the most exposed of the 18. Very good course, good customer care, and in pristine condition right now. Play before the planned overseeding and aeration to enjoy this course at its best,

Played on 8/23 nd course was in very good condition. The greens are bumpy and will be until the poa completely overruns them. I have heard they want the greens to be poa since the bent grass was not able to survive against the poa. With the exception of the greens, this is a fantastic layout. A great variety of holes and a front nine and back nine that couldn't be more different. Only complaint is the two par threes on back nine are playing approximately the same. But since that is only complaint, go play this course, it is supposedly Ted Robinson Sr.'s final course design. Hole number 10 is only hard driving hole with OB just left of cart path and hazard all down right side. A good drive will leave a birdie or eagle opportunity depending how far you drive the ball.

Played on 8/13 with an email voucher from the course. The reviews before mine suggested some problem with the greens, but it wasn't visible on the this day. A couple of greens did have some small burnt areas near the extreme edge, but otherwise they were great, not too fast, but smooth and consistent. Some of the fairways were very wet, but this is more a result of extreme heat the last two weeks, and they did not affect play. This is the most scenic golf course in So. Cal, bar none. No houses, no power lines, no interrupted vistas or views. The only houses visible are unbelievably hugh and make you wonder who lives there. Check the landscaping and cement work on some of these properties. You will hard pressed to believe you are playing minutes away from a growing urban area. Course design is really great on the front nine, nice tree lined teeing areas, everything right in front of you. Back nine is more goofy golf, many strange tee shots, elevation changes, and a couple of holes, 16 and 18 that defy hitting the fairway with any type of second shot. 16 has absolutely no reasonable landing area, short shot off the tee long difficult second shot, long off the tee ball will usually run off fairway into hazard. 18 forget it. Need to on right side of fairway to get good yardage to green but this brings trees into play blocking green. Left fairway leaves almost 200 yards to green with most of it carry across hazard, though it is downhill it hard to get flat lie on the left side. If it were not for the weird layout of back nine this would be the best golf course, condition and environment in all of the Southern California, with the design it is still a must play, though too pricey. Look for specials and give it a try, it is a unique experience for the golfer that can't afford membership at Shady Canyon, Dove Canyon, or the other ridiculously priced private clubs around.

Played on 8/04 and course was in excellent condition. Greens smooth and quick, fairways green and lush. Excellent course, excellent conditions, excellent bargain to play. $5.00 replay is the best deal in California. Golf 2 excellent golf courses for less than $60.00, are you kidding, and on a Weekend. Great deal

Played on 7/04 and course was in its usual very good to excellent conditions. Guess holiday made play slow, but was following the kind of guys hitting 200 yards drives and wait for green to clear 300 yards away before the hit. Waited on a couple of par 4 holes for the green to clear which was well over 300 yards. Legends is definitely the tougher course of the two here. Severe bunking around the greens, and placed in the fairway make it tough. If you don't hit your driver at least 270yds consistently don't even think about playing this at any length over the blue tees. Blue tees here are typically white on most other courses. At approximately 6400 yds. this thing is a brute and much longer than a lot of courses I play that are 6600-6800 yards. Special course and is worth the green fees, and for another $5.00 you can play the Champions, if you still feel a need for more

Played here twice in last ten days, price was excellent with the email specials. One day was $18.45, every Wednesday until some time in August, the other day $29.00 but included a sleeve of 2007 Pro V1's so made the golf price about $16-$17. Either way well worth the fee. Course is in very good condition, the greens are plush, about medium speed, roll true and place is empty during the week. Lately the green fee you pay is for unlimited golf, so if you like to play more than 18 holes take the drive. The wind is a factor as the day lengthens, but when it is hot you will appreciate it. The layout is classic, a real gem and with the blue skies it is a great golf experience. One word of warning, do not go expecting to find a nice clubhouse, excellent driving range, or top flight golf carts. The clubhouse and the range look as if they haven't done much to them since the 1950's when the course was still being used on the PGA tour and by television golf programs, like Celebrity Golf. But if want to play a great old course where your money is spent to use the course and not the extras which keeps the price reasonable than head up the Cajon Pass and visit this classic

Played on 6/07 early morning tee time. Had read recent posts and wasn't expecting much, but was nicely surprised. The greens are quite playable, though not very fast, they are again smooth and look like greens. This is a very good layout, great variety of holes with most showing lots of character and playability. The two par 3 holes on back nine are two of the most difficult in the area to score well on. Both require very long tee shots to undulating greens. Carry distance on both is well over 200 yards from the tips. People rave about the 18th because of the severe elevation change, over 200 feet vertical drop, but the rest of the course easily holds up to this one. The drive from the 8th green to the 9th tee is something right out of Disneyland, great use of waterfall, running water and plant life. During hot summer days it is a refreshing respite from the heat. The course looks to be on the mend, and if you get a special is very worth the fees, lets hope the greens continue to heal and return this course to it rightful place among the must plays in the area.

Now this is a place to play a round of golf. Excellent course conditions, greens rolling true with some pace, and a design worth its weight in gold. Though it faces stiff competition from the SCPGA across the freeway, this is truly the best course of the three. Has demanding holes that require good shots and distance control if you want to score. Position on the green is critical in order to score, even though the greens are small. When the rough gets long, fairways are a must. When you play you will understand why the "Q" school always uses this track for its second stage of qualifying. Be smart and choose your playing tees wisely, playing too deep will make for a long frustrating day. When in this condition Oak Valley is second to none, including all the upscale courses down the road in Palm Springs. Housing construction is going on all around the course, yet the course still maintains a fairly open natural feel. Playing on this side of the freeway is also much more time friendly, as most players are on the other side. Teed off at about 8:00am and playing casually with some practice shots, still finished in less than 4 hours and saw nobody else, ahead or behind us. This was golf at its finest.

As usual Goose Creek was in excellent condition. This golf facility is easily the best operation in the Inland Empire, and maybe all of So Cal. The course is always in excellent shape, unless they are doing maintenance, and the customer service is second to none. The reason this course is so great can be traced to its director of operations, Ross Fisher and his superindentant. They make sure the course and its practice facilities are in perfect condition, with good teeing areas on the driving range, high quality and condition of range balls, and a large and very well groomed putting green. This place is the place to play during the week and it is obvious by the difficulty in getting early morning tee times. Call very early a week in advance if you want an early foursome tee time. Definitely the best all-round golf experience in the area.

Played on 4/21 and course was in very good condition. The greens, as usual were very nice, smooth and medium fast. The fairways and teeboxes were also very well groomed. This is a highly played public track but is one of the best maintained in the southland, considering the cost of the green fees. It would be my first choice to play if my budget was limited and my desire to play a well conditioned and semi-challenging round of golf were the objective. Course is always, unless undergoing maintenance in very good to excellent condition.
