Played 12/1. after being on great shape all summer, fall/winter is taking its toll. Fairways were a bit spotty but mostly decent lies. Rough has a lot of uneven spots. Greens were pretty good, for some reason, much better on the back 9 than front. Sand traps in very good shape. Pace was great, staff here is super friendly.

Went back to El Dorado on Sunday, wish I had not. 5:40 minutes of just brutally slow play. Way to many groups of 5 playing from the wrong tees. Several holes on the front side had 4 groups on them. Greens were pretty beat up from a tournament in the AM and the long day and needed to be rolled, very bumpy. I like the layout but not worth the extremely crowded and slow conditions. Won't be back soon.

Played 8/25. Course generally in very good shape for end of summer. Fairways mostly good lies. Greens were mostly smooth and held shots nicely. Bunkers were hard and some wet. Pace as always was an issue, over 5 hours. almost 90 degrees and only saw the cart girl once. On the turn, no sandwiches available inside and grill outside had nothing cooking so we had to wait. Overall, good layout but it does take all day to get around.

Update on Rustic. Played in an event there on 8/18. What a difference a week makes. Although not listed on GK, most of the greens were punched and sanded and were very slow. Pure luck to make anything over 5 feet. Been hot and the rough around the edges is poor. Would not play here the next few weeks.

Played Sunday 8/11. Course is generally in good shape. Greens we a little slower than usual. Fairways and rough as you would expect at Rustic. Biggest issue was the tee boxes which are mostly ripped up.

Decided to give it a try after reading recent reviews. I have to say the place is in good shape. Greens were especially good. Not super fast but very smooth. Fairways and traps both good. Tee boxes a little beat up. Pace was good, food and service in the grill were good. Will definitely go back for another try. Hope conditions stay this way during the long hot valley summer.

Played 4/3. Was a little disappointed to find multiple fairways had been raked and had fresh fertilizer on them. No mention when we made the reservation or checked in and no discount. Greens were in good shape and pace was good. Place is usually in great shape so I will be back as it is one of my favorites.

Played 2/2. Course overall in good shape. Was windy and the greens were much faster than usual but in good shape. Fairways a little brown but enough grass. Rough as always here is hit or miss. Pace was pretty good, cart girl was out. Good day out.

Played today (Saturday 10/7). Course has changed a lot in the last month or so. Overall, still in decent shape. Tee boxes are a mess, recently over-seeded and very sandy. All three courses have been undergoing some maintenance over the last month. Canyon Crest had the rough over-seeded, the green were sanded and was cart path only. Lots of water on the course. Sand traps were either muddy or hard pan. Greens had a lot of ball marks but rolled OK and were fast. This place usually has the best conditions around and I am sure it will be back up to speed in the next month but today we a little disappointing.

Played here as a guest on Saturday. Mostly built into the side of the hills so a lot of holes are very tight. Lots of elevation changes. If you hit it off line, you are out of bounds and lost. Greens were pretty slow but in good shape. Fairways were nice. Traps were pretty hard packed. Great views from almost every hole.

Course is in good shape despite the recent heat wave. I little browning in the fairways but good coverage. Rough was in good shape. Greens were fast and true. Sand traps not great, very hard packed. Biggest issue....on a day when it was literally 100 degrees, no cart girl.

If you are coming out here expecting anything that resembles the old Robinson Ranch, forget it. First three holes were nice and in decent shape. Then you hit a stretch where the fairways are terrible and there are large portions that are just dirt. Sand traps are hard and have weeds in them. Tee boxes shaggy. Green were the best part. Slow but true. Still no rough on a lot of the holes so if you miss a little, you roll out. Was 95 degrees and no water in the on course coolers. I would love to tell you about the back nine but after spending 3 hours and 10 minutes on the front 9, we quit. Maybe during the week, this would be worth it for the price. The really big problem is that for what they are charging and the conditions, it is almost all high handicap players here. I have no issue with that except this is a tough, long course and it really slows down. Never saw a marshal. I will say the guys in the pro shop were really nice and seemed genuinely concerned about our complaints. They did give us rain checks for a future date. I used to love this place. I am hoping they get it back together but they are not there yet.
