Surprised that the weather co-operated and provided a nice window to play this morning. It was carts on path, as it has been all week and I suspect will continue to be for some time. Greens still had decent pace despite the fact they have not been mowing every day. Fairways are lush with good coverage. Tee boxes, bunkers are excellent.

Not very busy because I guess everyone thought it would be raining. Being first out, so no issue with pace of play.

Out early on a very mild morning. I had prepared for cold, but it was so mild, 59 degrees when I tee'd off at 6:15. Fairways are very tight, which is great for extra roll out, but requires a lot more focus hitting from them. The back nine greens were much better than the front. Several on the front had issues. Lots of sand in the bunkers, although none were raked for me. Thee tee boxes are now all level, but the recently overseeeded areas are all dormant.

Fun morning, not very busy, and being first out allowed me to finish in about two hours. Nice way to begin the week.

Worried that there might be a frost delay, but while close, was OK to play without restrictions. Course is in nice shape right now. Greens rolling true and reasonably quick. Fairways have good coverage and are nice and green. Still some issues with the rough in places. Tee boxes, bunkers are excellent. Other than having too many holes still cart path only, the course is a joy to play. Does not look like that will change any time soon????

Rancho Park has always been one of my favorite golf courses. It was the first course I played when I moved to California in 1970. I always felt that Rancho was a perfect barometer of what kind of golfer you were. I used to complain about the pace of play here, but now my complaint is the brutal drive to and from south Orange County.
Course was in nice overall condition, particularly the greens. Maybe because I actually made a bunch of putts, but they seemed to roll very true. Good coverage in the fairways, and the rough was very fair. Don't need to address pace of play, because anyone who plays here knows what that would be. But to be out on a beautiful December day on a great old traditional course, well, it doesn't get much better. Now if I could just figure out a way to get home in under two hours.

There are a number of things I dislike about living in Southern California, but the weather certainly is not one of them. Thought I'd take advantage of this beautiful weather and play. Not much different from my last review. Still can't believe how good the greens are at this course. In fact, conditions in general are very nice. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Always great to deal with

Every time I play the Goat, I am more & more impressed with the vast improvements. What a far cry from the first time I played here years ago. It truly was a "goat pasture" back then. Not anymore. The greenside bunkering is just terrific now. Love the riveted faces. Most all the fairways have good coverage.

Yes, the price has steadily increased here. No longer cheap to play here, but oh, so much better. Even the signage has helped. The new carts with GPS is another nice addition. If you have not played here, I strongly recommend. That is, if you want to be humiliated by a 4500 yard course

Probably should just say ditto to Mark's recent review. Greens are the best part of the course. Rolled well and had decent pace. Most of the fairways had good coverage, with some areas which needed attention. Rough was all over the place - thin, bare, thick, etc.

I seem to struggle here because there are so many par 4 holes I just simply can not reach in regulation. Otherwise, I really enjoy the "rest of the holes" Even playing it forward on those holes make them a bit too long for this senior.

Staff is always great here and the price is fair, but I miss having the three nines. but happy they reopened it as an 18 holes course, which was better than expected.

I've always enjoyed playing Eldo, even this course has rarely been kind to me. I just seem to struggle here. Perhaps it was the slow pace of play which I am not accustomed too? In any case, while I enjoyed returning here, I was totally beat-up when I finally put the clubs back in the trunk.

No complaints about course conditions. Greens rolled pretty true with decent speed and the fairways had good coverage. Rough was somewhat inconsistent - some thin, some thicker. Both bunkers I found had plenty of sand and were well raked. Staff was friendly. My real complaint is just how much it cost to play here now. Sadly, I remember when it was like $3 or $4, but then I also remember when I could actually hit a golf shot.

Thought it would be raining but turned out to be a really mild pleasant morning. Not very busy, so I suspect others thought the same. Course is in nice condition right now, in part because carts have been kept off the fairways since mid-September. Greens have good speed right now, probably close to 11+, but still very receptive. Bunkers, tee boxes, fairways very good.

A little late on the review. Course still looking pretty good. Greens rolled better than they appeared. Reasonably receptive, which because you can hit so many shorter irons into the greens is important. Good coverage in the fairways. Only in two bunkers - both had plenty of sand and were raked.

Not as busy as expected. I suspect the weather was a factor? Always enjoy this course, particularly the interesting green complexes

Out first on a cold morning (42 degrees) Had not played here June, green fees for senior nonresident went from $28 to $34. That's a hefty increase, but I will say the course is in the best condition I've seen it for a long time. The greens are excellent. Roll true, receptive, and have nice speed. Good coverage in the fairways. Bunkers had plenty of sand, but I was in front of maintenance, so none were raked. Tee boxes are the worst part of the course right now.

As always, Sam in the shop is a joy to deal with. Just makes a huge difference to begin the day on a positive note, at least until I hit that first tee shot anyway.

Out early as usual on a beautiful autumn morning. Greens have recovered from the aeration, but still have not regained their speed, but much better than they were a week ago. Getting there! Fairways are very nice, as are the tee boxes and bunkers. However, to protect (?) the rough, they continue to have 4 holes CPO, with no end when those holes will return to normal.

With the forecasted rain this week, I suspect it will be CPO for the entire course afterwards. I am rethinking my decision to use carts here.
