Played today (11/19). Greens are totally healed and probably rolled 10+ in many cases. Fariways in great shape. It's also been resloped. It's now 121 from the blues.

Just prior to playing Avila, I had played Spanish Bay, Spyglass & Pebble. The greens at Avila were superior to those three. Even tho somewhat short from the whites (6053), the rating is 69.6 & the slope 130, so don't let the length fool you. Teed off at 8:15 by myself (!) on a Friday & finished in a leasurely 3 1/4 hrs. This course is a hidden gem.

Encino is set to be punched 11/2/04. The delay was caused by the recent rain.

Valley course in great shape. The fairways have totally recovered from the burned-out condition of last summer. I guess they are finally paying for water. And the greens. What can one say? Absolutely the best in LA! The traps have gotten thin. Need more sand.The pace of play on weekends is way too slow. 5 1/2 hrs! What are the marshalls doing? But overall, well worth the price.
