This golf course is in great shape. Lush and green. Not a bad lie if you can keep it in the fairway. If you are far off line you can find some dirt but fairways are great. Greens very puttable and tricky. White tees are for the big hitters if you want to make par. If you can’t hit it 240-250 play the Gold tees and enjoy a few pars. Still very challenging from the shorter tees.

I live just up the road and have played here occasionally over the years. After playing in October I think this place needs to have a little love passed it's way. I know all about some of the greens and the bare spots that have been present. For the most part these areas were not in play 90% of the time and we just took small relief if needed. I played Vineyards in September and they were having the same problem with some of the greens. I play Woods Valley, Golf Club of California, Eagle Crest and Oceanside. None of these courses are in pristine condition and I think Castle Creek really is in the same class because none of these course can water enough. Bottom line is we had fun and Castle is a nice mix of very tough holes if you play the wrong tees. I say give it a try again and unless you are paying top end golf somewhere else you may surprised. It's a good bang for the buck

Played on4/5/2008. Big and wide open on the drives. Very undulating in the fairways and on the greens. Course was in very good condition and did not have a bad lie all day. Played on a Saturday at 11:00 and were finished in 4hours 15 minutes. We knew the wind was coming and it was fierce in the afternoon. The course is designed with two nine hole loops so you are always adjusting for the wind. Enjoyed it very much.Just be ready for the wind. If it is supposed to be windy, it will be.

Played on Saturday Feb.16. I had not played here in 20 years and was pleasantly surprised. Some very challenging holes and you better hit your driver straight. The greens are in great shape. Very busy so don't expect to fly around. All and all enjoyed chasing my ball around this place and would put on my list to play a few times a year
