Wow! This course is beatiful! Spectacular views. Excellent condition. For a muni course, it is very special. The Senior rate ONLY applies if you are a San Diego County resident. Regular weekday rate is $55.
You must play this once in your lifetime at least!

A friend and I played here first time as we had a 2 for 1 coupon. We will not be back,
even if it is free! What a cow pasture. Fairways all brown and bare and no grass.
Traps were mud and dirt. Pass on this one folks!

Opening day 5 hours and 40 minutes to play a 6000 yard course!
Couple holes are tricky with blind approach shots to elevated greens. 6 par 3's one at 97 with a huge green and another at 210, not too well planned. I will not be back!

While their claim to fame is great greens, I agree, however, I would not care to come back here even if it was free! I thought the course was unfair and Micky Mouse. Narrow tight faiways on both side of the river/flood control. Every shot rolls right right to left with the slope of the land. Some fairways are nothing more than chunks of dirt. On the 17th hole a parent and his child were walking the course for fun! We thought we might hit them until the marshall made them leave. This couse was like my worst date as a teenager, couldn't wait to go home!!

Played for the first time last week. It meets all the hype. I have one word, WOW! The back nine is beautiful. Even though this is a 90 mile drive for me, I am going back in two weeks. Super Senior rate (55 and older) is $30 weekday with a cart. You must put this course on your things to do list and play it.

Very beautiful course, but no grass in the fairways. Greens are quick.
Played for $50 on a Friday afternoon which I thought was OK for such a pretty course. The sand is a little hard, used a pitching wedge vs. sand wedge. I would go back, when their is grass in the fairways. Nice club house as well. A Troon facility.

Play it during the week and save some cash. Quite expensive on the weekend. That being said, DO NOT miss the opportunity to play this course at least once. Maybe treat yourself on your birthday (or the day you got divorced!) Two holes on the ocean and many more with ocean views. First class service. Well maintained course. I love this course and you will too. During the week you can play it for about 1/5 the cost of Pebble or 1/3 the cost of the Trumph course. Reward yourself, indulge a little.

Seniors (55 and older) get a substantial discount weekdays before 11:00 A.M. Ten dollars more on a Friday. $65 Mon-Thurs. No driving range. So if you have a later tee time go to the driving range first at San Juan Hills (about 10 minutes away). The greens are fast and tricky. Lots of undulations. Get to the course early and spend some time on the practice green. You can order a fresh to made sandwich on the ninth tee which is better than getting a stale one from the cart.
Enjoy.

SHORECLIFFS: Played it Dec30, 2005 for the first time. Let's face it with a slope of 130 this course is no walk in the park. Tight fairways and very fast greens. I think this course gets a lot of bad press because it is difficult. That being said get to the course early and practice, practice your putting. I intend to go back and follow my own advice. Good luck.

Great! For a municipal course this can't be beat. The course is in great shape and several holes have ocean views. The 15th, a long par 3 is spectacular. Suggest you spend some time on the practice putting green before you tee it up as these greens while in good shape can be difficult at times. Enjoy!

Played twi-light weekday $23 with a cart. Very nice fairways, very good shape. Greens are very fast, so go to the practice putting green before the first tee. Senior Rate (55+) is only $31 weekeday with a cart. A pleasant golf experience.
