I played on Wednesday 1/8/14. The personnel are fantastic. From the free valet parking, Shop Cashier Tony, the starter, the bag boys and Megan in the patio are all top notch and I felt I was being pampered! I played their promotional rate of $74, my partner, a Laguna resident became a member.
The facility has stalls for hitting into nets-(reverse batting cages) with all the range balls you want. Putting greens are adequate. The layout is very interesting. Once you get in the carts (GPS), pay attention to signs for directions-especially the front 9. I don't prefer courses surrounded by housing but, next to the ocean, I'm relaxed.
Course condition gets an 8 because the back nine had several fairway spots that were dry, under repair, or access restrictions. Greens and sand traps are in excellent care.

I played MCC on Sunday, Dec 1 w tee time of 11:30. POP w carts was 4.5 hrs. Played Ridge and Crest. Both 9's allow for tee shots space and greens are plenty big. The approach shots are key; the angle and portion of the green are critical. A 600+yard hole is all down hill-be accurate/safe on the tee shot, then let loose.
Great mountain, ocean, creek views to the West. Elevation changes with housing, mountains, ravines, creeks, and views make every hole pleasant. I played with the SCGA Member Day for $63. Rating 9.0

I played 4/15/13, Monday. Took buddy for birthday special. He played for free, I paid $80 rack rate for a 9 AM Monday tee time. Had breakfast in private club-like dining room. Waiter service, linen table covers. $9 full breakfast. Lots of practice area for range, greens, and pitching.
The course is along the Angeles creek near the Hansen Dam reservoir. The course emphasizes the approach shots and putting on fast greens. More deer and rabbits than birdies :). We felt like we were playing at a private club. My budget allows only birthday specials here. Not crowded. We enjoyed white tee play..
