Not a bad course. Mostly flat. However, your driver must be working. Some long par 4s. Some water. Wind a big factor, a two clubber the day I played it. Into the wind, just take a bogey and go, maybe you'll 1-putt. BUT! when it is with you, oh boy! EX: Was 25 yards short of green on the 546 yd(blues) par 5 10th in two. A straight away downwind hole. Got up and down for my bird. No. 1 difficulty hole is #2. A 468 yard (blues) par 4 uphill. Even with tailwind, a stiff test. Approach on par 5 18th is fun. Course is pretty much an exact replica on Shadow Hills GC in the Indio area south of Palm Springs.

This is links style course. First time there for me. Helps to know course as there are unknown/unseen hazards. Pot bunker in front of #2 green is something else, unseen from fairway. Wasn't enamored with it at first, but it grew on me. Some very interesting holes. A few risk/reward holes, especially #18. Similar to British golf. Can be penal. Grass and sand bunkers. Some holes you hit to an elevated green. If you have the nerve, tee it up from the tips on the par-3 7th, 202 yards over water and you must carry it 185 to stay dry. Grass range. Course wasn't in the best of condition, but I liked it. Fast greens.

I LIKE THIS COURSE. It is very challenging and can be PENAL if you miss your shot. Especially fairway traps. Sand mostly OK, except for # 10, which was bunk., It wasn't sand but mud. I dont mind being in a trap, just give me a fair chance to get out. Also, some of the traps have gravel in them. At times, thinking mans course. Target golf on some holes. Some fun holes. 12 is a long par 4. Bite off as much of the water on your tee shot as you dare. 18 a fun finishing hole. If you can break 80 from the blues, you have earned it.
