I played Eagle Glen on Friday 1/4...the greens had a very light dusting of sand. It didn't affect the roll IMO as they were still fast and true. Ballmarks were almost non existent. I was actually searching for marks to fix. EGGC has people go out and fix the marks. I'm guessing '1david5' must have played on a day that this had not happened yet. I played that same day as well, teeing off at 10:30 and found the greens to be in great shape. Maybe David fixed them all by the time I reached them! Thanks.

The fairways were in great shape thanks to the rye. New management is allowing carts on holes that were previously roped off. So far they're not affecting the course.

The boxes were in great shape overall.

No change in the bunker situation. I'm still hoping they will be completed by summer as we're being told.

The new rates ($49/$69) were in effect all summer and now appear to be the new rack rate. This is a fair price for this course.

Played the SCGA Course 11/10 for the first time in 8 or 9 years. I wasn't impressed the first time but how things have changed. The course is in excellent condition. The tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were a little light in color and played semi-firm. The greens were awesome. They were smooth, fast, and true with no ball marks whatsoever. I hope I can go back soon just to putt on the greens. My playing partners commented on how good the bunkers were. The rough was up yet fair because it made you think about your play. Like others have said, it's a good test of golf.

Played Oak Quarry 11/9 for my first time. I absolutely loved the course. Today was cart path only due to over seeding. The fairways were mowed yesterday for the first time so there were a lot of grass clippings. Little fairway roll but a very green lush course awaits you. Greens are healing nicely with no bumps, holes, or sand present however they are soft and medium-slow as they're still growing out. Bunkers were in excellent shape with their moist coarse sand. Tee boxes were level with the young grass still taking hold however finding low cut grass on the Par-3 boxes was not an issue. The posted price for a Friday morning was $75 but we were charged $60 so they might be having a special right now. If you don't mind the slow greens and CPO, this course is ready for winter play. The staff was friendly. It was definitely a very nice golf experience today.

Played 36 holes on 9/27. They're preparing to punch the greens so they were pretty soft and saturated which really affected the afternoon round. Too many footprints and sanded ball marks. Afterward, cart dude said the greens were rock hard and not holding a little over a week ago, so that might be their normal setup. Can you say ESA??? They are in play on every hole. If you tend to hit big tee shots offline here and there, check your club selection. I recommend a yardage book, the GPS is the little text box type but does give yardage to the stick. A few holes had fairways at a 40-50 degree angles from the tee so the book really helps (so does a nice powerfade). Nice layout through the arroyo then the barren hills. They have water coolers every few holes at the white tees, not the blues. The turn is at the furthest point from the clubhouse but the cart girls came around plenty of times.

Played for the 1st time on Sun 8/26. Pleasantly suprised by the layout. The holes had character with elevation changes, fair lateral water hazards or OB on many holes. Barkies will be in play with all those trees espeically when the wind blows. As mentioned by others...plenty of hard bare spots in the fairways. Greens were very green, soft, and slow, but playable. Next time I'll walk the course. I'll be back.

Played Thurs 8/23. Friendly staff. Played from the whites (for the benefit of our high-handicapping birthday buddy). There are several (hard) tee boxes...it played shorter than the scorecard on this particular day.

The greens were firm with typical ballmark damage, but they rolled true and consistent throughout. They held several approaches for me so fire away. It's hard to take a divot in the fairways. The rough will grab your club. With blind shots and the riverbed bordering several holes on the front 9, and the roller coaster holes (14-17), it makes for a fun round. Don't go out there expecting a hard test of golf and you won't be disappointed.

Summer's here! Played 36 on Friday 6/15 at The Classic Club - 105 degrees. Troon special $69 unlimited golf made it an awesome deal. The course is in excellent shape and ready for the heat. Don't expect lucious greens this time of year - they 'look' a little bare but they rolled very true. Speed was medium fast. If you bring your approaches in with a little spin, the greens will hold.

Excellent customer service. Water bottles available in the wooden boxes at 5 or 6 locations. I brought a small cooler bag to keep bottles cold in between. You have to hydrate this time of year. Two guys (19 and 55 yrs old) in our group couldn't go the distance. I drank at least 24 bottles of water over the 2 rounds and doused myself with a cold wet towel here and there to keep my core temperature down.

I've played most of the public courses in the PS area over the years (at this time of year) and currently feel Classic Club is one of the best.

Played on 1/20. The course is in nice shape. The greens are rolling fast and true. I was above the hole on the 'back to front' sloping 13th and 18th and payed the price in an ugly way. The rough is low right now which is usually one of its defenses. The fairways are green - not lush - but green. Tee boxes are nice although I was having a hard time sticking a 'broken' tee in on the par-3's. Keep some short tees on hand. I never played this course before the renovations of '05, but I've played it roughly 6-7 times since and always enjoy the track. It will be nice when the new clubhouse is built and they get a practice green.
