played it last week and now the tee boxes are all done. from the tips now its way longer. the course is in really good shape, they will be aerating the greens the beginning of may so you want to call 1st... this course has the twilight rate because it starts at 2:30 when everywhere else 3 or 4pm... while it can get windy in the summer months, it has more than its share of great clam days too. the bar has happy hour m-thur and warm snacks
from the kitchen are usually out there. this course is worth the price to play and will challenge you from the tip... the whites are fair... give it a try...

Played last Sunday, and it was windy... and the greens were still healing from aeration and sanding. now add that to a mountain course that the nationwide tour use to play on and your in for a long day... upon getting there the staff pampers you with service, carrying your clubs and attending to your every needs, everyone was awsome. the driving range was so cool, new taloymade balls to hit. the practice area was great, the grill has great breakfast, lunch too. PS, the cart girl rocks too...
the course would be hard to walk for sure as it is very hilly with huge elevation changes. the fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club mgmt for sure. add a 20+ mph wind to this and you have a Trouble with a capital T... the views from almost every hole were spectacular for sure, don't forget your camera. if you have never played here buy a yardage book for sure or have a skycaddie. I couldn't have guessed the yardages as the course makes them seem longer or shorter. if you just play the course and try not to be fancy you should be OK, but cutting corners or trying something you might not normally do will hurt you for the most part. the vineyard line at least 1/2 the holes and look great but will cost you strokes landing them. if you have not played a mountain style course you will be in for a surprise. there are very few fairways that you can be right/left on and get away with playing your shot from. the course is truly a test of ones golf game and the overall experience will last a lifetime, good or bad....lol
this is a must play course for sure if your in the area of livermore,ca. and allow yourself some time to visit the winery too. add some great friends to play golf with and you have a memory that will last a lifetime. Wente Vineyards,

played the 5pm round as its a great deal...
the course is stlll in just great shape and pace of play was fast. I can't get enough of the tough holes on this course. there are so many great holes. and even though theres no water holes but on one, I don't miss it any, theres plenty more ways to get in trouble... Smilin Steve

played sat, 13th,
got to play with 2 great locals Erwin, Jane. they knew the course well as they get to play here all the time. thank you... now the course on the front 9 had the green get burned by fertilizer in may and now are looking a lot better. just a few tiny patches left to heal but the pin placements make it better. the back 9 is to die for as there are so many great holes along the beach with view that golfers just a couple of miles away are paying 500.00 to see. this course is definitely one of the best munis on the west coast. if your in the area its must play for the price. and the pace of play for us on sat was good. we started at 3pm and got in just about 7:15 just a tick over 4hrs... the course has a great clubhouse and pro shop too. the driving range is good too, theres 2 putting areas to warm up on. and the 1st hole is a 150yd par 3 which kinda makes getting started easier. don't forget your camera if you come as there are awsome pics to be had... Again the course has healed well and is worth playing now for sure....

played here again and last year the about 1/3 of greens were being redone. WOW, there really nice now, the course is still a favorite as it reminds me of my high school course with the trees all along the fairways.. most are generous but if you get to the other side it makes getting to the green tricky. the course was well watered and had a few dry spots but overall was really good. the greens were plenty soft maybe too soft as they were a bit bumpy in some areas but I will take a soft green over a dry hard one any day...lol
this course still amazes me at the great deals it has for weekday play and weekends. if I lived closer I would play here a lot....

sept 11,
played the pm and the pace was really good, as there was few out there due to the warm weather I think. the course is still in great shape a bit bumpy on the greens but way better than others around. the grass is still really green and lush. the greens are due to be punched and sanded soon so check with them late sept... this course does have the pacesetter program on sat sun and selected days, where you sign up for free and agree to play ready golf, and pick up if you fall behind. the early groups are finishing under 3hrs and under 4hrs for the later groups... not bad. the practice area is still one of my favorites...

Sept 4th,
this was a birthday golf round and played with my 2 sons, we got out about 1:30 and the pace of play was really fast, we caught no one and got past by a single once... the course is still in fantastic shape and the greens were just great. fast, smooth, and holding shots... this course gets reviews about slow play, but I have to say I've been on it now 3 times recently and all have been good. 4.25hrs was about the slowest. the staff was great and I even got a free cold one to the birthday. other than I had to pay 26.00 for a cart with only one rider, every thing else great.... I still love playing this course... lots of risk reward shots for sure...
plus like I've said in the past, the driving range is one of the nicest around for sure and it has a huge putting green and don't forget theres a par 3 nine hole you can play with the kids or other and have great time too....

Cool Times at Aptos Seascape....

just finished another sat round with my son, 5pm start and finished all but 2 holes as we skipped past the 2 foursomes, and got in at 7:45, not bad 16 holes in 2 3/4hrs... we could have waited but hunger took over..lol
once again this course was in great condition with temps about 75 while the valley was 90 plus... so there are still places where you can get in a fast round golf on a great course. you just have to know where to go...
the course is still the same from my last 2 reviews below, see details...............

this is not your normal city muni course, Oh No.... and considering that this course is under snow for about 5 months a yr it comes to life each spring. every hole on this course has breathtaking views and on 13 of holes the Truckee river is somewhere in play, not to mention a few ponds on the course too. this course has everything you need, a great staff, huge banquet area, large practice area, driving range, carts, and a course to challenge even the best golfer. and don't let me forget the cart girls on the course too who are exceptional and make it fun, add to that a great grounds crew with there dogs who find lost golf balls which is a riot... which makes the rate for this course worth every cent. memories like this are priceless so don't forget to bring your camera either.
now for the course,
the front 9 is more open than the back 9 which has more tall trees and requires a better shot making for sure. the greens were med/fast and very true, and showed no signs of bumps given the amount of people who play this course. the greens are bent grass and fairways are winter rye, and rough is about 1-3" and lush. the course has its share of doglegs right/left and can reward the risk takers who know where to hit and put it there. on the other hand the course does require course mgmt too as it can bite back. there are more than 70 great sand traps too, and the hazards and OBs on some holes are just plain wicked and can cost you as you try to find your ball in the thick of the forest and grass or worse yet the River. so whether your a hard core golf nut or just want to try a new course for the fun of it and relax, this is a must play course for sure. its easy to get to and is just about 20mins from the casinos at south shore. if your in the area you must play this course, forgot your clubs, no problem they have full sets of cobra rentals too. again this is a must play course for sure...

this course we played last year and it was under construction on about 5 greens and that is all done now. WOW, its a really fun course now for sure. the staff is most helpful. the course has tall eucalyptus trees along most of the fairways which also help to cut down on the wind factor. the course also has a couple of lakes and add to the beauty of this course. the greens were a bit bumpy but we did play late in the day on a Sunday. they were very good and were in great shape. the pace of play of great too as we only came up on one 3some and they let us play through.
the only thing for this course is that it is at the end of the runway for a small private airport and the planes sometimes sound loud. but overall this course has it all, a great clubhouse and pro shop, and a driving range and a good putting green too. we played the twilight and got on about 3:00 and finished well before sunset. the par 4 are a good test which leaves most over 150yds to the pin.
and the sand traps have some of the best sand ever. overall this is a great test or practice course and the value is really good. if your near the Hayward area this is a must play course for you.

This is one of the 10 Best Golf Courses in all of Ca. for sure.
this course has it all, the scenic value, lush fairways and greens, creative layout that will challenge even the best golfer , and a great staff.
as you pull up to a great clubhouse you know that your in for a very special day. the staff is great and the food there is superb. the practice area and putting greens are huge, and the warm up area to hit balls is a bit small which is the only thing I thought needed to be bigger. the best thing is that no where on houses on the course or such. all you see is nature in all its beauty and hear the wind, its like a golf wonderland.
the fairways are well groomed and and there's a great mix of water and creeks mixed in. the greens are perfect, smooth, fast, and true and the sand traps are even better. if your off the fairway past the rough you are in the trees and flowers for most part, this course demands good shot making and will reward the risk shot factor too. the views along the course are breath taking and don't forget to bring your camera too. the course too had a players asst who we saw twice out there, that makes sure you don't need anything and your having a great time. then theres the cart girls who have everything on there carts and are wonderful.
at the finish you can either sit outside and relax with a great view or sit inside for some great food and drinks. the pro shop has a great selection of most everything you need mixed a few things you wish you had...lol
I can't believe this course hasn't gotten a tour stop or pro-am yet, as it is well worthy of it.
if you are in the Tahoe area and want to treat yourself to a course you will not soon forget, this is it. I have played many of the courses in the area and this is the one I keep coming back too. Coyote Moon Golf Course is a golfers gold mine in the Sierras and worth visiting for sure.
