After reading positive reviews, we purchased a Groupon for De Bell. Maybe we hit it on an off day, but the conditions were poor, the pace of play atrociously slow (two groups backed up nearly each hole). Didn't even finish 18 holes before it got dark. At least we hadn't payed full price. Some fairways were pretty lush but others patchy. Greens had recently been punched so still very bumpy and full of pitch marks. Chipping around the greens was hit or miss. Some holes did have beautiful views - that's the one positive I can say.

Played Brookside #1 last Saturday and were very disappointed. The fairways are in TERRIBLE condition...roped off, soggy, ground under repair on just about every hole. Staff was indifferent when we complained. We paid a lot of money to play here and in the past have found it to be a great course, worth the drive and the cost. NOT this time. Be advised, lousy conditions.

Horrible conditions, almost unplayable. You hit a good tee shot into the "fairway" just to see it shoot off to the right or left after hitting a clump of weeds or whatever. Chipping around the greens terrible. Tee boxes & greens fair to poor, but what's really awful are the fairways - several types of grass, clumps of weeds, bare spots all over the place. It makes for a very tough, long round. This place makes Alondra look like Trump National....

My husband and I have played twilight here several times during the summer, and usually I'm not a big fan (for all the same reasons described by others). But last Thursday night we played and I have to say the course was in really good shape. They finally cut back the darn rough, the fairways were pretty nice and the greens were, well, still not great but much less bumpy than they had been! The best part was, only $17 after 3:30 p.m. including cart (new special). For that price, it's a great time for evening golf.

My husband & I have played this course many times and usually just love it. But, beware: the greens are in very poor shape. Besides being bumpy, they have a lot of brown patches. And many greens have a collar of dead grass/dirt surrounding them. This is very unusual - this course is usually terrific. Better check with the pro shop before making a reservation. From what I've heard, the Gary Player course is playing really well.
