We had 7 of our Saturday Golf Friends group play La Purisima yesterday 8/20/22. The overall course is in really good condition. Very lush everywhere with fairways in great condition, rough right off the fairways were at least 3 inches thick and the greens were super smooth and FAST!! Very tricky greens with a lot of subtle break that is hard to read. If you are looking for a challenging course then La Purisima is it.!! Oh... and get the Tri Tip sandwich at the turn!! Jason in the Grill does a killer job!!

Our Saturday Golf Friends group played Ojai Valley Inn on Saturday 9/4/21. If you have never played the "Inn" you are missing out. It is one of Ventura Counties Gems!! We play there often and just love OVI. The course is always in excellent shape and the greens are fair. Not super fast and definitely not slow. Only one green is in "not so good" shape with rough patches and has been sanded. Hole 8 par 3. I'm sure it will be back to normal soon. For a Saturday , play time was quick, 4.5 hours. The staff at OVI are always super nice and helpful and hanging out at Jimmy's Pub after the round is always a treat!!

Our Saturday Golf Friends group played Santa Barbara Golf Club this past Saturday 9/28/21. I have played this course many times in the past but this was the first time playing for our Saturday Group. The course was in excellent condition. Greens were nice and smooth and fairly fast. The golf staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well was the grill staff and their food is exceptional!! We all had a great time and will be putting SBGC on our regular rotation!!

We got to play The Oaks Club again today and it is always a super fun but tough round!! Greens are fast and there are many blind shots to greens. It was 104 deg today so a walk would be tough!! We rode in carts and was still exhausting!! I love the staff at the Oaks and the food and beverage at the Midway Cafe is AWESOME!!! Christian the head Chef is Great and super nice!!. If you ever get a chance to play this course it's well worth the challenge!!

Our Saturday Golf Friends of 12 players played RR Vineyard Course today. I'd have to say the overall course conditions are about a 5-6. Most fairways are in decent condition, but some are dried out without much turf. Greens were a little shaggy and very bumpy so soft. Many ball marks and foot prints on the greens. This course used to be in fantastic condition years ago with very fast green. Under new ownership I think they are trying to improve it and it is well worth the money to play. Only 45.00 for a Saturday prime time walking. One of the things I love about River Ridge is their cafe and staff. Valerie is super nice and if you get to play here try their Carnitas Tacos!! I'd say they are the best Carnitas Tacos in Ventura County!!!

Our Golf League, Gold Coast Golf Association played Sterling Hills today for our monthly Club Tournament. I have played Sterling Hills many times and played it back when they first opened probably 25 years ago. In the early years the course was AMAZING!! Right now they are trying to maintain the course and doing a good job. All staff are friendly and welcoming. The course is in decent condition. Greens are very smooth and semi fast. Fairways on some holes are under construction in some areas. Overall rating for this course for the price and playability would be a 6 on a 1-10 rating.

We played Valencia CC on 8/16/21 with Golf Moose and Johny GK hosting the event. This was my first time playing the course and I really liked it. Super challenging holes. Fast undulating greens and plenty of water hazards to really make it a challenge. The staff and crew at Valencia CC were all super nice and courteous. I look forward to playing there again in November for the Veterans Tournament.

Our Saturday Golf Group had the opportunity to play the Saticoy Club yesterday 8/7/21 and what a treat if you want a challenging course to play. Overall all course conditions were amazing and the greens are very undulated and fast. Yesterday they were not as fast as I have seen them in the past. But still slick. Very friendly staff and there to help with anything you need. I would highly recommend this Country Club if you ever get the opportunity to play it.

Our 12 player Saturday group played Sandpiper on 8/31/21. Sandpiper is one of our favorite So. Cal courses, with spectacular ocean views, great course conditions and fast greens. Unfortunately the course had a "Maintenance Mishap" on 13 of the 18 greens which were burnt with holes and sanded quite heavily to fill in. At first we thought the greens would be unplayable but as the day went on we became somewhat accustom to them. Some of the guys would disagree ;) Hopefully the greens will recover fast and soon because we love playing Sandpiper!! Besides the greens being under par, Sandpiper has a great staff and always friendly and courteous when we arrive. The grill has amazing food and drink. It's well worth the cost to play there!!

Oak Quarry is one of our favorite "get away courses"!! Great challenging track, awesome landscape in the old rock quarry. Great staff. Great food and drink! Highly recommended!!!
