Played 2/21 as a single on GN Hot Deal time at 12:37, happened to get paired with GK'ers larryq2001 and leef2020, whom I overheard talking about GK after the first hole. It was great meeting you guys! I've lurked on here since 2011 mostly for reading/posting reviews and monitoring aerification alerts. It's a great resource (thanks for all your work, Johnny).

It was a slow 5 hour round. Course was windy and cold. Greens were fantastic IMO. No complaints from me on the fairways, rough and bunkers. I believe Lee mentioned they're punching Monday 2/26 so wait 'til late March to play.

The company was great and we finished just before dark; even stayed for the ribs dinner special and HH brews afterwards. Always a fun time playing The Crossings, it's one of my favorites here in the San Diego area. I'll try to make it out to one of the GK outings in the future. Nice meeting you guys. Cheers

Terrible conditions. Greens are atrocious. Fairways chewed up. Bunkers hardpan. Do not recommend right now.

Played 6/8 and conditions were excellent overall. Only complaint was greens were dry/crusty. This was my least favorite PGA West course as the desert/waste layout just didn't fit my eye. Very narrow fairways. Very penal on errant drives. There was no rough to save you from rolling into desert/bush/weed/bunker trouble. I think I chipped once or twice from off the green, it was Texas Wedge putting from 5-10 yards off the green all day. This course has really tricky undulations with very tight lies all around the smallish greens. Tough day if you miss fairways and greens, for sure. Bring extra balls! Customer service was great as to be expected.

Played 6/7 and conditions were great. Lots more uneven lies compared to Nicklaus and maybe slightly more narrow. Still, never got into too much trouble off the tee. I didn't recognize any of the front nine from watching the Career Builder Tournament but the back nine was really fun to play! Fortunately I bogeyed the infamous "San Andreas" #16 par 5 without hitting into the huge 20' left-greenside bunker. I regret not trying to hit a few out of it though! Parred #17 par 3 so I got that going for me. It's a must-play course for anyone visiting Palm Desert!

Played 6/7 course was in great condition overall. Greens were dry/crusty/slow though (see aerification alert above; maybe wait a month after). HUGE fairways here. I was really surprised how wide open this course is. Drove the ball really well here but even a couple snap hooks or slices stayed in play. Rough was short, not penal at all. Bunkers were soft sand. Fun layout and some challenging approach shots for sure (semi island green on one par 5). Great customer service. Highly recommended.

Played early May and conditions were a little lackluster compared to other courses in the Palm Desert area. Very patchy fairways and the greens appeared to have been sanded. Greens were very slow. I liked the layout a lot though. Lots of trees on the front nine then more of a resort layout on the back nine with water holes going through some housing/condos. Customer service was great. Would play it again when conditions are better.

Played early May and conditions were lush. Lots of undulated greens. It meanders through some housing/apartments on the back nine but overall very scenic. The other course, Firecliff, was more gimmicky and maybe a bit of a links style layout but very little housing. Customer service was excellent. I highly recommend both courses.

Played early May on GN Hot Deal for ~$30 around noon and it was well worth it. Course conditions were excellent, everything was lush. Greens were medium pace and we figured out on the back nine to just pick a side of the hole and give it more speed, as we over read everything early on. A few holes have some big undulations (~200yd par 3 #12 I think) but lines are pretty true on the rest of the holes. Strong afternoon winds will test your knock down game and longer irons on approaches for sure. Great customer service all around. Highly recommended.

Played 12/15 on a cheap GN Hot Deal time scheduled for 1pm, starter let me go off at noon as a single. Kind of a maze to find the pro shop after I self parked but it is a huge hotel/resort and friendly staff helped me find my way. I was a little concerned about my 1pm tee time and not finishing after I read multiple reviews on GN within the last couple months about 5 hour rounds. Maybe those were weekend rounds. The starter was quick to let me know it was fairly open and I could follow a elderly couple twosome who wanted to be by themselves if I would putt and hit the range for a few minutes and I was very appreciative of him letting me go early. Is this couples only twosome deal a Palm Desert thing? Or just old people? C'mon folks, I won't bite! I played the blues and conditions were 8/10 with lush fairways and rough but super slow greens. Maybe that's just how it is in winter. Front nine layout was pretty boring plus lots of street/hotel maintenance traffic and noise in between holes. The twosome couple let me play through at the turn and the back nine is definitely much nicer! Now we're golfing! Such a nicer feel for me on the back with rolling undulated fairways which you're rewarded with right away on #10 par 5 and continues for the next few holes. Surroundings are much quieter on the back nine which gave me more focus and also I had nobody in front of me to wait for until a foursome on #15 but they played fast. This is a challenging course especially the back nine which for me seemed to play longer with the wind keeping me short and what appeared to be more protected greens and lots more water trouble. And be prepared to be tested on #18 par 4 I think it said 391yds with water and guests watching you all along the left side. I felt like I hit a decent drive and ended up having 215 left to the front pin. On a par 4. I blame the wind but mostly myself for a poor drive. Tried to fade a 3 wood in there and splashed one instead, singing the double bogey blues in the end. Oh well. I'll definitely come back for revenge and hopefully the greens will be faster!

Played 12/14 on a cheap GN Hot Deal at 12:30pm joined another group of singles, a couple were locals. First impression I was not overly excited about his course. They had recently top-dressed the greens which wasn't disclosed. They had us start on #15 for some reason which was disappointing and ultimately frustrating as I made my way around the course. On top of that we had three twosomes of couples ahead of us so we waited on every shot. The greens were terribly slow with the sand. Layout was kind of boring, crammed into the housing units. The locals I played with said this one is better than the Gary Player course so I'll have to try it again under better conditions and the proper hole routing. Worth a cheap price if you find it but there are better options available.

Played 12/14 using a GN voucher at 8am paired with a father son twosome. I've played here three times now each time in the winter and it is your classic Troon luxury course. The clubhouse is huge it looks like a big hotel. The practice facilities are awesome, all grass range and chipping/bunker areas, and a HUGE putting green to practice those 100' putts haha. Apparently we had a foursome ahead of us and we never saw them once and nobody behind us or at least they space groups apart perfectly. We had plenty of time to take in the scenery and keep a quick 3.5hr pace. The views are stunning here. Conditions were 10/10. We played the white tees and didn't have too much trouble finding Fairways but like most courses it's all about sticking that second shot and I often found myself having an awkward lie above/below my feet and paid the price missing nearly every green. I was a hook machine here today. And the greens are tough! The speed was slow and I three jacked a ton. Slow or fast, you'd better have a great feel for lag putts here because you will be punished leaving anything in knee knocker range with as much undulation they have. This is a must play course for anyone planning on visiting the Palm Desert area! No houses anywhere. Just golf! Will try to get out here next summer.

Played 12/13 using a GN voucher as a single at noon with practically nobody out there. The course was in immaculate shape. Lush Fairways and rough, greens rolling smooth but slow. The layout is fairly straightforward and flat on the front nine with more doglegs, undulation and water hazards on the back nine. I had a great time and will try it again in the cheaper summer months.
