Played on Sunday 1-8 @ noon. Cresta Verde has never been an oasis but it has always been decent and playable, until today. The greens are the only part of this course that isn't dead. Will not be back until I see a few positive reviews.....

Read the last two reviews but don't optimistic like I was, this course is nearly unplayable for two reason. One- because of all the heavy rains there is standing water on many holes, so good shots end up going into what should be casual water but instead they have put up red stakes. Two-also due to the heavy rains it appears the top soil was washed away making what fairway is left rock hard, which for myself added up to joint pain, which is worse today than yesterday. Lastly as stated by others this course is over booked, making for a 5 hour 45 minute round :(

Played Sunday morning 11/7. Starter was very accomidating helping us work around my buddy who was running behind. The course is in good shape. Fairways and rough have some bare spots, but not bad, sand was nice and as always the greens were fast and tricky, even though they are still a little bumpy from the punching a few weeks back. In a couple weeks course should be really nice.

Played on Sunday 9/26 Chino Creek is in a little better shape than Butterfield. Has many bare areas in the fairway and rough, hard bunkers with little sand, the greens are slower than usual because of excessive watering.

Greens are medium-fast and in great shape.
Bunkers have plenty of sand and are well maintained.
Only real problem is that the fairways have some thin areas, really bad on a couple of holes.
The starter was friendly and accommodating, helped me work around my late buddies.

The Good---course is in overall good condition, a few soggy spots here and there, but not bad after all the rain we have had.
The Bad---12:54 tee time turned into a 1:20 start. This course was way overbooked, we waited on every shot. Played 13 holes in 4 hours and gave up !!

Overall the course was in good shape, lush, green and not too many bare areas. The bunkers were full of nice sand. The greens looked good and rolled fairly true, but were slow, and that is not something that I am used to from San Dimas Canyon. Course was very busy, we went off right on time 12:30 pm, but sadly it took a little over five hours to finish. We had to wait on every tee and then wait for every green to clear. Could not put the blame on any paticular group, I think there were just too many golfers, so I blame it on overbooking.

Played twilight on 1/8/10
Fairways and rough were in good overall condition.
Greens were near perfect, medium fast and holding all approach shots.
Bunkers could use some work, but the sand was decent and in most it was plenty deep.

I have always enjoyed this course, but this time I was disapointed. This course is an hour drive from my home so I called to verify course conditions and a discount coupon that I had come across. I was told "no problem with the coupon and that the course was in PERFECT condition. As I was driving in I could see that the course was dormant, some people don't mind dead grass but I do. When I complained to the counter person about the "perfect conditions" he appoligized and then promptly turned down my coupon and charged me holiday rates. The greens and traps were in better shape than the rest of the course but not up to the conditions that I have come to expect from Redhawk.

Played on 11/8. This course is old and traditional, nothing fancy or tricky. The condition could be better, but is playable. The greens are the best feature, some unique shapes, medium-fast and tricky breaks. Well worth the reasonable green fee.

Was just informed that starting today 10/19, they have started punching the greens.
